  1. Put him at tackle, by the time the DE's go around the outside of him it will be halftime.
  2. Was he ever in shape even when he played?Good point. Get him a jersey in practice tomorrow! True storey, my wife and I are catching plane from Regina to Toronto and we are on commercial flight with the Hamilton tiger cats team. Danny Mac is sitting one seat over across the isle from my wife. She absolutely wouldn't believe me that it was him. She finally went over to him half joking and said my husband says you are Danny Mac. He says yes I am, her jaw hit the floor. Short, chubby bald guy looked a lot more like the teams accountant than the starting qb.

  4. Kerry is our mid season, everyone is hurt, everyone's bad, season going up in flames, kneejerk phone call. The Bombers need to find their own guy to call.
  5. Good post Rich, I was going to mention this at some point. MB almost doesn't have the correct skill set to work with a straight pocket passer like Willy. He may lack some skill regarding pass protection also. The teams he has had that were set up to run the ball for the most part have been successful. You guys have had success running the ball this year when you have tried. I just haven't seen the bombers commit to it, almost like MB feels guilty for not using Willy more. With Willy out IMO I see MB committing to the run now. Older lineman like Picard are still mean and like to go downfield and hammer somebody. You'll see that Picard influenced Oline play once you guys start running the ball more. At this point, where u guys are at, its a plan I think I'd be going with. For example, Picard and Labatte were down right scary out there that year Sheets was running wild, 2013.
  6. You are bang on. You wreck the kids confidence, you wreck the potential. I honestly think Sunseri got destroyed out there last year, mentally and physically. Then we cut him after the season. Does he ever recover from that, I doubt he does with the riders. A fresh start elsewhere might just be what he needs. The kid can throw the ball with a lot of power, great arm. Its very unfortunate that Brohm and Marve got to go in like this for you guys, hopefully it works out.
  7. Agree with what u are saying. Austin never shuts it down. If he was calling off the dogs he would have pulled Collaros out of the game. Yeah Austin is the kind of ******* who would love to win a game 62-0, there is no way his team shuts it down. Hell after the back to back picks he basically went and bitched slapped everyone on offense for it. Killer instinct is a huge advantage in a coach. Never fun to be on the receiving end of those games. Jones in Edm is the same way, the esks are going to pound you with that dline for 60 minutes, no mercy. it absolutely is. Those two are guys who not only want to beat you they want to beat you into a bloody pulp and make you question everything about your team. There is no letting up for them, you just play your hardest every single snap of the game doesn't matter the score is. To be honest with you, I thought O'Shea would be that kind of coach when you guys hired him. Mike was ultra mean on the field when he played. A guy you always wanted to keep an eye on. I figured a O'Shea coached team would be a mean group. Not insulting the Bombers and saying they aren't tough or anything, but that really hasn't been o shea's style a head coach. Even on special teams in Toronto he was mean and had a fiery unit when he coached there.
  8. Did you know something at the time that we didn't?!? Nothing other than knowing that 42 pages of gloating would eventually come back to bite us in the ass .. if it wasn't an embarrassing loss to the "Owen" Riders .. it was going to be something .. karma (it seems) is a *****. Looking forward to you guys helping us out of the owen category this year. All bets are off for labor day now with Willy out.

  10. 100% right. You never give up and have to keep going. The season is always a work in progress. As bad as we have been this year, technically the riders aren't even out of a playoff spot yet. Obviously its a stretch. You have 2 backups that were at least here last year and are somewhat familiar with your offense, it could be a hell of a lot worse. You guys have 3 wins and the your D is showing signs of improvement.

  12. Agreed. If anything you pull him at end of first quarter for few series to get him settled down. But at the half, no way you pull him there with 30 minutes to go. I know its terrible that drew got hurt but leaving him in after the half is a move any coach would have made, possibly with the exception of a team with a very experienced back up. Even then, I doubt it.
  13. While Durants salary won't count against the cap I heard he had a sizeable bonus that willRumor is DD got 200k up frontThat's stil close to $300k not counting against the cap.I could be wrong but thought he was in the low 400"s like 425'ish. Your right about the money savings but I'd rather DD on the field than save the money. Been a tough year so far without himI read his last contract made him the highest paid QB right around $500k per season. As with many things its hard to know who to believe as the salaries are not disclosed. Lisa Schick reported the contract DD signed a week after the grey cup victory was for 190k with 225k bonus up front. Less than the 450 Lulay was making. That was for the 2014 season. I don't know what he made this year. Rumor was he got 200 up front this year. So you may be right, I have no idea. One thing we do know is its a lot of money when the guy isn't playing.
  14. I'm not ripping Hurl. the guy plays hard but I think we're asking a lot of him & my question was why are we committed to starting a Canadian at MLB when that position is almost always American? I agree with 17 that we don't have enough quality Canadians to start 8. That's probably because the Bombers is paying him big bucks. Not stirring the pot here, but that was part of the signing. Rider offered him basically decent backup money around 120 IIRC and the Bombers gave him 135'ish I think to be a starter. As much as some don't want to say it, every team does it. There isn't a GM in the league that from time to time doesn't stick with a certain player to justify the signing. IMHO Hurl has played better of late but has been mediocre at best on the season. Can he improve as season goes on with more time, maybe he can if he does his salary will be a steal.

  16. Corndog must be making pretty decent money we can assume. He is near the end, so the Stamps could free up some money there for Jones or Heenan. They'll get one of them I think. Riders will get the other, however I'd like to get them both.

  18. Not sure if I should be insulted or just feel sorry for you. That's a bad joke. Although you guys have upped your game last couple days. A few good ones here.
  19. That's my high school year book photo. Where did you get it?
  20. I've been to Montreal and yes that stadium does suck. Been to Skydome and as nice as it is, its way too big for football. Edmonton much the same, its a nice stadium but the track wrecks it as you are far from the field, no atmosphere in there. I should add Montreal has a good atmosphere at least. Calgary's stadium is old, they need a new one. Mosiac is old and done also, looking forward to our new one. Much like Montreal and Winnipeg however we do have a great atmosphere in there which makes it special for me. Been to Winnipeg 3 times, we are 0-3 when I come, but its a great place to go to game. Lots of noise and passion by the fans, to me that's what makes it number 1. Once we get our new stadium open, combined with our fans and atmosphere, I think we also can be one of the top stadiums in the league IMHO.
  21. You know no matter what the riders record is, who the flagship franchise is. Its funny you bring it up so often, does it bother you that much?
  22. Everything is falling into place. Problem is we will probably win just to really throw a wrench into it.
  23. What kind of bad person I would be to stand in the way of a woman's right to be half naked with some pom pom's
