  1. Weldon Brown done for the year. Ouch! Torn Pectoral Muscle.
  2. Maybe I'm missing something here, but why in the world would Hervey have to prove anything. A contract was offered and accepted. If the player wants a 1+1 then the player should demand it and refuse to accept the offer on the table. Yeah I don't understand that either. Is there anyone who can explain the reasoning behind that? If Edmonton only offers 2+1 shouldn't it be up to the player and his representation to say "I want a 1+1 contract? I suspect Hervey told him he couldn't offer the 1 plus 1 and that is the heart of the issue. Wasn't that the driving force between whatshisname and the tiger cats when he alleged the same thing, that Austin hadn't offered him the 1 plus 1? I could be out to lunch here.
  3. Keep him away from Watson during practice. do tell? He injured Watson at practice once (in 2013 I believe)... Watson was out 4 weeks or so... Oh ok. Maybe we better not bring him in. We are a mash unit right now. Maybe a secret ploy by the Bombers to wipe out any remaining healthy players we have on offence. LOL I'm on to you guys now.
  4. Hard working special teams guy. Can fill in at safety if there's an injury. Definitely not starter material. If he's 3rd on your depth chart, you potentially have good depth at safety. If he's 2nd, you probably do not. Will always be a guy fighting to stay on the roster. That sounds ok. The way we are going he will be starting this weekend. LOL
  5. Keep him away from Watson during practice. do tell?
  6. Ok, so what is the skinny on Dan West?
  7. I think you are right. A big shift to give advantage to offence and special teams is going to show immediate results. The DC's will figure out how to shut it down, at least that's what I'm telling myself so I can sleep at night anyways.
  8. Hall should have a pretty good idea where Hurl is at after watching him everyday in practice for 4 years.
  9. Good post. Funny thing is we wanted out of Hall's defence which is basically a soft zone secondary relying on pressure up front to cause turnovers. Bombers trouble is they aren't generating the pressure up front to make the scheme work. We supposedly wanted a more pressure defence ( which I'm still friggin waiting to see). The irony is Hall's defence is better suited to the new rules. Once You guys start generating a pass rush and the LB's settle in, I think you guys are going to do well. Hall's defence is one that doesn't take a lot of PI calls because the db's are playing off the receivers. Conversely Chamblins pressure defence will likely see us lead the league in PI calls this year. I'm hoping Chamblin opens his eyes and starts turning this around. Its painful to see a offence generate over 1000 yards in 2 games and lose them both. You guys are sitting a little better right now, basically the shell shock of the Willy injury cost u the second game, the team didn't rebound. Same happened to us in the first game against u, but very concerning that we couldn't/ didn't improve in the second game. Kicking off the season with a couple home loses doesn't cut it with this fan.
  10. We are ok but thanks for asking. We have the qb's you guys have been laughing about all week to carry us
  11. Because it's annoying as all hell. There are a ton of gappers living in Calgary and Alberta in general so you run into a ton of them and they are just obnoxious about their fandom, even if they are the people who jumped on the bandwagon. I have nothing but respect for the Rider fans who were actually die hard fans through the crappy years, it's the new fans that piss me off cause they only came to the team recently and have no appreciation for how quickly fortunes can change in the CFL. As a long time fan myself I don't appreciate the idiots either. I remember the 70's and mostly early 80's, getting hammered 50-0 by the esks, as a kid just hoping we could get a td so I could cheer for one of my hero's. Those were dark days for my Riders. I'm enjoying that we are better now. I don't laugh and make fun of the struggles the Bombers have suffered. To the serious fan that hurts bad and sucks. Its painful and disheartening to watch ones team struggle with no apparent end in sight. I'm happy to see the Bombers turning it around and would love to see u guys in the cup this year at home. Obviously I hope its not at our expense however. But there are some young fans in Manitoba who weren't around to see how good the Bombers have been in the past. I think you guys have suffered enough and think the fog is lifting and there are brighter days ahead. I still hope we beat u every time we play you. My 1990 Grey Cup Champs T-shirt I still wear with pride is older than a lot of the posters here. I was living in Edm at the time. A bunch of us Rider fans nearly got the crap beaten out of us at a grey cup party. Apparently the Esks fans were a bit sour, LOL. I was so happy for Burgess, always felt his contibutions to our 89 season were overshadowed by Austin.
  12. I imagine Early will be kicking the long ones. Not sure at McCallum's age he can see where the uprights are from 50 yards.
  13. Riders are talking to Waldu.

  15. I'm fine with that, and right back at ya.. That's how most fans look at it.
  16. Glad u had a good trip Mike. Lets hook for a brew the next time you come down. The DD injury is going to hurt us more later in the year. We lost because of defense just couldn't contain Cotton and couldn't get to Willy. The Bomber offense looked very good and played excellent in a hostile environment. Picard had a huge game in the middle, shut down Terrius George the whole game, and opened some holes for Cotton.. Full credit for the win.
  17. One other thing I want to say. To those of you calling the Rider fans classless, maybe read some of your own posts revelling in a potential career ending injury to another teams QB before you talk about class. It didn't break my heart when Reilly got hurt the other day, but I sure as hell haven't said much about it because his career could be over and that really sucks because he is good qb and is good for the league. As far as the Riders go, don't feel sorry for us, we'll be fine. I wouldn't be heart broken if the same thing happened to Willy, but I sure as hell wouldn't be enjoying it to the point that I would be chirping fans at the stadium about it. A few Bomber fans were within a inch of their lives at Mosiac on Saturday. Every fan base has some less than classy fans, as do we, but take off the blue goggles for a minute and see you are no different. I've for the most part always had good experiences with the bomber fans at your stadium and ours. Don't let the mouthy few wreck it for the majority.
  18. Thanks man! There isn't much of a drop off between Durant and Glenn so I think the Riders will be fine at QB. Taman looking smart now for signing Glenn. The concern for the Riders now is Canadian depth with Demski, Emry and McDougall all out for a while. When DD went down the hole stadium just died. The Riders were prime for the taking. Any good team is going to put another away when they get the chance. The Bombers seized the moment and grabbed the victory. First bomber win in regina in 11years. We'll be back boys, its a long season. I'm not running and hiding or jumping off a cliff because DD is hurt. Guess we are going to have to come into your house and steal one now. (:
  19. Good game guys, full credit for the win. As far as DD, it sucks. Is what it is however. We trudge on with Glenn and hope things work out. We aren't writing off the season just yet.
  20. West Stamps Riders Esks Bombers Lions East Ticats Argos Allouettes Redblacks Riders, Esks, and Bombers will come down to final 2 weeks of season, it will be a dogfight.
  21. I like Sears, think he a great player when healthy. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the young Canadian playing when Sears was sitting, I thought it was a ratio thing with the Bombers.
  22. Last season saw the Riders completely drop the ball on player evaluations of a few players. The RIders letting another good player go would not surprise me in the least. Of course, there is the strong possibility that DePalma wasn't happy in their organization and wanted to move on even though the Riders wanted him back. I doubt Rider fans would ever think of that as a possibility though. It is odd. I suspect he wants/wanted more playing time than was going to be available here for him. I liked what little we saw of him. I think size might have been a factor. He wasn't offered a contract here that I'm aware of, but hey its more fun to think he just didn't want to a part of the riders to justify the bombers signing him isn't it? For the record, all teams miss a few good players along the way that end up being good somewhere else in the right environment/ situation. I wish him all the best, I thought he definitely was shifty and was tough to tackle when he had the ball.
  23. How are the Riders worse than last year? Serious question. Bombers are improved no question about it. A lot of moving pieces have been changed for u guys, to think 3rd is in reach is wishful thinking. I believe the Bombers are a playoff team that will be slow out of the blocks. Its gonna take time to come together. I see the Bombers as a 4th place team, and also think the stamps will be the team that struggles. Lost 2 all star lineman off that Oline.
  24. Doesn't even make sense that the Riders would be in the hunt for Curran. I don't see Edmonton being in it either. That leaves Ottawa and Winnipeg. Curran is a guy you would love to get. He is a keeper
