White Guy suing Canada Revenue Agency for discrimination
Rod Black replied to Taynted_Fayth's topic in General Discussion
This fella should have applied for the job if he wanted to obtain evidence to support his claim of discrimination. The article doesn't mention any actual foul against him. -
So, the question has to be asked... Why would Walters hire such an inexperienced coach to rebuild a team coming off such a brutal season in 2013? If he has all these shortcomings as a head coach don't you think it was a bad decision to bring in a guy like that with such a huge rebuild about to take place? Why saddle an inexperienced coach with such a huge job that really he wasn't & still isn't qualified for? Ok.considering that none of us were in the room when the decision to hire MOSwas made, I'd speculate he was hired because of his potential, desire, intelligence, and previous performance in any of his previous jobs. Not to neglect financial considerations that are abundant with a rookie. The only shortcoming might be a experience as a HC. But I can't agree he has "all these shortcomings". Neither will Miller, a seasoned HR professional. To be frank, neither you nor I knows whether MOS is or isn't qualified for his job. He is however, currently the the HC of the squad. His performance needs to be assessed in the light of performance against objectives, which you do not know. He'll hang around til next year at least. Let's help him be successful.

Yup. Folks were hired to do a job. No one said anything about hope. I mentioned potential. Hope is your word. If you were to speculate about how long a learning curve is, how long does it learn to play chess? A chess player learns moves, timing, strategies and many nuances in the firsts years. They also learn additional moves and so on. mOS is not a guy off the street that doesn't know the feel of a football team. But if you expect if him to be Wally or a Bellichek, you are respectfully mistaken. Bye the way, I am a bomber fan. Desire more success. Want a cup. don't want a rebuild. But today. The WMO squad has my support.

Doctor Doctor, MOS is less than a season out of being a rookie coach, barely. . But let's say two years as a HC. We hired potential. We didn't hire experience. He is far from expecting a Buono type of skill at this point. So what's your complaint? Everyone chipping in to get a new assistant? If Walters gets help and becomes successful, is that a problem? Should Walters fail with substantive help, then you gots a point.

Don't contact any team during the season. The season is over in a week. If it's a playoff team wait until they're eliminated or win the Grey Cup. Play by the rules & at least have integrity. Like I said, how would we like it if the roles were reversed? As fans we would be upset. What goes around, comes around. Of course there is something to be said for ethical behaviour. Email messages or about working conditions would move towards a substantive evidence of ethical behaviour. On a scale Miller talking to a guy can not be stretched into symptoms of a circus as is Pentons rhetorical question. Or tampering. All these execs, talk about compensation and other working conditions among themselves. It is not unreasonable in their small community to talk about future plans. A casual talking to a guy during the season leads to the second coming of a notable performer at Assistant Coach, that's unacceptable? Writing to the candidate, would be.

Two Sides here. Penton writing about what a bad move it is that Miller spoke to a guy about an assistant coaching job. Penton does not like it by his comments. Penton is paid as a sports reporter. Penton is not responsible for any team or executive decision. Other side is, Miller chats to a guy about being in the mix for some succession planning as anyone does when looking for talent. Miller lets his subordinate coach pay attention to the task at hand of preping special teams, being head coach, and trying for the playoffs. Miller has responsibility for many things, including hiring at all levels. Miller has substantial Human Resource background. Do I agree with Penton and stir up material that he clearly doesn't understand? Do I applauded Miller for showing initiative?
-
Yah. It's not like Miller was shooting his yap off and making offers to strangersand being recorded by a smart phone. What Penton said was Miller was talking to a "guy". WTFis that suppose to mean beyond he was talking to a guy? Someone else heard that Miller was at his doctors and his doctor said to grow 16 inches to catch up to his weight. Both heresay statements are likely.

I'd agree with you if there was evidence of malice by Miller. On the basis of probability, if four people were to exit the organization what is the probable order? Bellefuille, OShea, Walters, Miller? The order, I think, demonstrates who has the biggest set. Heck, even Mike Tomlin and an entire coaching list across football, we're not souly chosen by the one up.

If Miller hands MOS a sheet of paper with a list of three candidates but accidently the short stubby finger lingers over his preferred candidate, is that meddling? Yes. What I meant was that lets say O'Shea is interested in a guy to be an assistant next year. In order to maintain good relationships with his peers, Wade might make the call, instead of O'Shea. That's what I hope is happening and this isn't Wade going off on his own. More often than not, junior employees with responsibility for subordinates are very frequently given a candidate short list with a nudge and a wink. Potentially, MOS could be hiring his successor in the event he gets moved from the position, even voluntarily removed. With the assertion that MB is getting whacked, MOS being busy with his two coaching gigs and "your saying I still got a chance" playoff spot, Miller could be doing the enabling boss thing. My money is on MB getting whacked. The whole wide world of sports knows that he is the leper of the Great Plains.

You know what drives me up the F'n wall is when people say "I shut the game off, I couldn't watch anymore" How pathetic a fan to not even watch the game. I never miss a second of a Rider game no matter what the score is, period.. no exceptions. If I can't be home or something important has me away, I tape it and watch every second as soon as I can. Oh look, it's SuperFan. I've been a fan for over 30 yrs, sometimes you have to look away from a trainwreck. You know what drives me up the F'n wall? People who think "their" level of being a fan is better than anyone elses. GFY. Agreed. Typical for that other poster to bring the discussion around to the green R word. Any reason they think to mention that team seems ok by them.

Because of the coach willing to make a change to the kicker, the kicker doing what he was suppose to do when he was suppose to do it, we are in a much better position for a playoff spot than we were one day ago. That was a terrific game to watch!

Week 16 CFL - Mon. - Tor.@ Mont. (Sask. 15 - Hamilton 30)

There are two penalties against the Argos, that seem very questionable to me. As Laing is rasseling with Burris to bring him down, the whistle bows and a fraction later, Burris is down. Laing gets flagged, flips out and removes his helmet, Laing is flagged again. Milanovich clearly lips"f ****** idiot". Don't know who Milanovich is angry at, but that first penalty was no doubt called to protect a qb's in the grasp, but Burris was continuing an attempt to escape. Second penalty, TO's Hazelton loses the ball after a catch, picked up by Ottawa, and the play is blown dead. The Ottawa defender, continues running around with the ball and Whtaker steps in front of him and the Ottawa chap then stops. Whitaker gets Flagged 15 yards for rough play. Oh, now TO has to review an incomplete pass to get a p.i. call. CFL needs professional refs. -

Spencer Strasmore to visit Winnipeg.
Rod Black replied to Rod Black's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
When Strahan was intviewed about his record being broken, he said, Spencer is a great guy, great player and I'm very happy for his achievement. But, I want to make this clear, at least I didn't take any stereos . Glad he's a friend of mine". -
Yup. A winner, chicken dinner.
