Spencer Strasmore to visit Winnipeg.
Rod Black replied to Rod Black's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
This guy is a game changer. Lawless said today would be big things happening with the Blue. -
Spencer Strasmore 6'5" a Defensive standout with the Miami Dolphins, future NFL hall of famer and retired ol' #92 is on his way to discuss reentering professional football with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Kyle Walters comments "we have liked Spencer and his motor, and leadership abilities for a long time now. Like Waggoner, he qualifies as a Canadian on the roster." Strasmore had initially trained with the Calgary Stampeders but advanced quickly in his career. He holds seventeen various NFL records, including, most qb's sacks in a game, most sacks in a season, most interceptions in a game by a defensive lineman and most interceptions in a season by a defensive lineman as well as most short kick recoveries in a career. Spencer has frequently played in short yardage situations and has carried in those situations 38 times for 139 yards and 15 touchdowns eclipsing Refrigerator Perry's production by over 125 yards and 12 touchdowns. He is the only player in NFL history to have been a player, a coach, and a team General Manager in one game. Walters...get on this, will ya?

Another example of gold diggers looking to benefit off the backs of the owners. -

Cory Watson grimacing in pain. That's a surprise. -
I'd bet the Pinnacle Club is for rent for a private function.
-
FIFA was many dates. An NHL Winter Classic would have been the icing on the cake this year. The various revenue streams is very helpful for the long term viability of the Blue.

That's a lot of money! Great for the club.

Robotic refs. If someone put their mind to it, brainstormed a bit, for certain there are many decisions that the refs and command centres make that could easily be replaced by some form and placement of chip. Either within balls, sidelines, goal lines, goal posts, triangulation or imagine... Technology must be there you'd think for the objective stuff, yeah? Personal fouls, roughing, subjective things might be a challenge to automate. Pass interference which can have a huge impact on yardage, should have some technological assistance. KK. Your solution might be right around the corner. http://mashable.com/2014/07/31/nfl-shoulder-pad-sensors/#hfW72PeomikG Ironically, the supplier of this technology is: Zebra.com -

Rainey is something tonight. Player of the game. Record breaking results. Great individual performance. B.C. Sucks. -

Good thing the Denmark call didn't have a significant impact on the game. Occasionally I might be inclined to review the rules of the CFL. That would probably just get me cranked up and angry with the caliber of the refs and command center. -
As a result of the large crowd at IGF on Thursday night, the AC/DC concert, what can the Bombers expect as far as revenue from that event? As much as a Home game? Do the Bombers receive revenue from rental of the facility, concessions, partnerships, and parking? Seemed there was a lot of liquor sales, maybe more than a Bomber game.

From FB's Toronto Sun article, Andy Reid of the Chiefs. Reid further explained last Friday, tongue in cheek at first: “I’m a big McGill University fan, but the level of football there isn’t as great as their academics, if you understand what I’m saying. It’s probably equivalent to maybe some of the upper-echelon junior colleges in our country here.

CFL is still a legitimate means of earning a living. There are even players today that will be revered in the future. Not as dynamic and prevalent as the big business of the NFL, the CFL stil and with new stadiums etc. remain relevant. Fan Boy, your stat and for greater certainty, are you saying that there are 9 CIS alumni currently in the NFL? I'm wondering how many Canadians, schooled in the U.S. Play in the NFL? oops 7 is the number at beginning of season (from CIS twitter feed) This article says 13 Canadians altogether. http://www.torontosun.com/2015/09/08/profiles-of-the-13-canadians-on-week-1-nfl-rosters Thanks FB. The best info that I could come up with was 14 Canadians in the NFL. But it must have been old info as it still had Muamba and Idonije listed as players.

Henoc on his way to Hamilton & Toronto for visit
Rod Black replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
TLB you are absolutely correct. Your view is a legitimate concern for the organization. Players may have more ambition and only want a one year, while others might prefer a multi year deal. Both scenarios are options. In the end, if the Team and Player agree to terms, are within accepted practices recognized between the CFL and CFLPA can anyone else have a decision in the matter? It may not be fair, to all parties for the NFL to have a hands off approach concerning CFL players. -
If he is a Christian, I would be worried. Why?You've never heard the claims about Christians being thrown to the lions in ancient Roman times (it never actually happened but lots of people think it did). And Henoc is a devout Christian. Christians were, in fact fed to the lions at the colloseum in Rome, along with other captives from foreign lands, criminals and rebels. Animals were also pitted against each other as well, and gladiators fought each other, too.But the "Christians" got their revenge. When Constantine converted to Christianity (sort of), and made it the official religion of the Roman empire, the newly minted Christians cheerfully began to toss pagans into the arena. The more things change, the more they remain the same. From what I've read, there are no genuine records indicating Christians were thrown to the lions in the Colosseum. Why would they build the Colosseum then? For U-II and UB-XV concerts?

Simmons, Nichols, Cole, Boyd. Walters hasn't hurt himself.
-
It's more likely you're looking at the guy we view as our potential development QB.Yeah, he is young. A first team All American and a Heisman candidate. Reasons to like his potential.

Bass just ran out of steam, that's common with football players, they're so focussed on the explosive short range speed a lot of them really suck when they have to maintain that speed over a distance. This, and after the game he said he was watching himself on the big screen so he knew there was no one within 20 yards of him. He didn't have to do a wind sprint to score. Good info. So Bass was slower. My point was, that Bruce Johnson is fast and that he has some career highlights and winning experience at a high level.
-
Not totally new players but Bass' pick 6 was a great play. However, he sure seems slow getting into the end zone. What was noticeable is that is own player, Bruce Johnson blasted up the field to escort Bass for the score. I did not know this and just learned but Bruce Johnson scored the first defensive touchdown in the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium. He has also won an NFC Championship and has a Super bowl ring. He's recognized as having burning speed.

Nichols made a positive impact with the team last night. Muamba probably wouldn't sign here and if he played I'd say he could not have had the significant impact that Nichols did.
