2022 CFL Season - Back 2 Back Champs News

Tom Clements. Remarkable intellect, I think. University at Notre Dame grad. While still in the CFL he graduated Juris Doctor degree magma cum laude from Notre Dame Law school in 1986. I don’t know what all the educational accomplishment means but it sure sounds ****** impressive and I guess he’s trained as a lawyer. -

It crossed my mind several days ago that the entire Sk team, including coaches, could have taken the incident as a lesson. Should they have taken the opportunity it could have taught them to focus on personal performance. That is suppose to be the purpose of discipline, “to teach”. They could have perhaps been a better team. It was a concern they might get better. But nope, they don’t get it. Someone said it here recently and thats why the hillbillies won’t win, Our players and coaches, surely demonstrate and understand execution and what focus and responsibility for personal performance amounts too. throwing a ball side arm while in horizontal flight and clutch completions for 1st downs or TD’s are examples. -

At the CFLPA site there is a message that the CFL has a zero tolerance policy for racist issues. Of course policies can be grieved. Without being able to view a current collective agreement and determine if there is in fact a 2 game maximum suspension for discipline, questions arise. Given termination and suspension are both disciplinary actions. How can a player be terminated for cause if maximum suspension 2 games? Fact basis in a previous C.A., how did Argonauts Chris Edwards receive a 6 game suspension for an incident with the fans, and then the grievance process resulted in a 3 game suspension if the current limit is 2 games? Arbitration citing: https://cflpa.com/mr-7-5-22/ Edit: have found previous C.A. https://media.cfldb.ca/documents/cfl-cflpa-collective-agreement-2019.pdf Older standard player contract mentioned in C.A. https://www.prosportsgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/cfl-k.pdf Section 9 gives very broad termination authority to the coach or g.m. neither document mentions a two game suspension limit. Stipulation could be in an appendix or letter of understanding. but no current docs are available online. This isn’t unusual since the new C.A. was only signed in May. -

Rebus nailed it! Sounds like they want to make a martyr out of 92. Hyperbole warning - “the Saskatchewan Roughriders Football Club today announced they have commissioned a statue for poor ol’ Garrett and have retired his number”. -

This fanboard has been up in arms all season about the lack of discipline by those idiots. It took a serious possibly season ending injury for the league to take action. Obviously the the stink of the boorish behaviour permeates the entire team. Further transgressions by team members of the SK crew should be met with swift and firm discipline by the league. -

Probably. Yet Lapo is not an unknown to our pal Big Chris. Heck, he was his OC when in Canada. Of any coach, he would spend a large portion of his time with him. MOS is smarter and more successful, so the edge moves to the Blue. -

Masoli out for 10 or 12 weeks certainly adds to Ottawas motivation to grab a guy we would be more than happy to have. Lapo does have an existing relationship with him. -

It’s a real attempt to move the decision to the back pages. Colour the investigation. Provide an excuse before all facts are considered. They could have handled this much like the more sophisticated Blue with Lawlers crime. “We take it seriously and are investigating..…” - that’s big league and believable. Not a smidge of repentance from riders and friends. -

I’m going to use the Fardo’s number 1 fan joke, as the apology is hilarious. I hope this video is added to the mounting evidence against Marashino. He obviously has no need to tackle a lineman. im still SMH over Dikersons deflection and obvious attempt to minimize the offenders crime. not everyone can spot the coaches advocacy. He is advancing the criminals defence. He is not instilling ownership. -

Dickenson making excuses without a full investigation. “I think the defence was upset….” Doesn’t hold Martino responsible. Yet, this gets friends of the riders indentifying this as remorse. They have been fooled. It’s not remorse. It’s a defence. -

Some giants of the franchise could be passed this year. Great work bye Chris stats junkie. Gotta follow him. -
We’ll yeah, I guess. Does that reduced odds-rewards scenario apply to cards or gambling in general? Speaking of gambling, is this the first year the CFL has a gambling site Fanduel as a sponsor?
