Will Streveler Be Our James Franklin?
Rod Black replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Your managerial acumen is exemplary. Awestruck! You do realize what the Bombers have is a solid number 1 qb that is returning soon. A second guy that has stepped up and perhaps solidified the number 2 job. A third guy that could chase the number 2 guy at Qb. This is how management assembles a contending team. You are witnessing the desired result. Most teams would kill to achieve this degree of depth. -

Bombers' Redemption Day - Game Day Thread: Alouettes
Rod Black replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Family does come first. Hope things work out ok. OnS is missed. As far as you missing a large portion of the game, you missed a lot of fun. The blue bashed and crashed, nailing everything in sight. They were absolutely dominating, heel on the throat taking no prisoners kind of game. Defence would grin, challenging any pass, smothering in each tackle. Defence relished sticking the runners in rushing plays. It was like they knew what play was going to be called by Willy before he did. Viewers became part of the D. In our living rooms, any pillow, any couch, any love seat, each wife, was nailed with passion for being in the same room as a bomber fan. Offence played with horns on their helmets. Blocking, double blocking, providing holes that Harris would run through as if he was piloting a run locomotive a la Casey Jones. Every inch gained turned into a yard. Every yard turned into a first down. Nothing like it has been seen since the days of Indian Jack. The iron curtain could not have held back the earthquake created by Andrew Harris, future Premier of Manitoba. Streveler, X-ray vision looking through Montreal’s secondary. Never even got beyond 2nd read. Proficient, efficient, beyond sufficient and down right blood thirsty for victory. He was a leader. A Champion on this day. Some day those that watched the game will be saying, I was there when .... Five Hundred and Eighty Eight yards of offence. too bad you missed some of it. Hope you never miss another opportunity for Odds and Sods. -

Streveler has lots going for him. Talent, physical abilities, terrific player support, chemistry, excellent coaching. He would need to consider that as a young guy he is not in total control of his success. His achievements are partly attributed to 3 of the 5 items mentioned. To obtain his potential, he still needs to be nurtured, which he gets with Buck Pierce and the Bombers. -
Thanks very much Jpan. Those are the specific facts I was looking for. Don’t ask me why I couldn’t find them without asking, but I sure as heck couldn’t. Thanks again. Tremendous yardage. Thanks for the link. Appreciate it. Cfl - highlights - game recaps - game - game tracker - box score and scroll, scroll, scroll. “Black, I’m calling you dumbass, I hope your proud of yourself, distracting people from their lives. You weren’t trying hard enough to get those stats. Get on the floor and give me 50.” “Sir yes sir”.

As of now, wk2 recap isn’t there. Nice try though.

Sacre blue edition? Lmao no folks we have not entered a time warp. Who are these guys? 1. Streveler, 9 weeks ago he didn’t know where Winnipeg was. 2. Harris, leader and future hall of fame Canuck. 3. Poop, who new poop could be so sweet. HH- Drew Wolitarsky. The non Canadian Canadian. The chemistry with Streveler is amazing. Our future is bright. GOAT of the game. Henoc for poor sportsmanship.

Are rider fans fed up with him at this point to place his head on a stake? If a Bomber coach behaved in jones manner, hiring dirt bags like carter, there would be a lynching at portage and main. This all arises from Regina having such very low standards.wouldnt be surprised if they continue to keep jones. Wouldnt you like a CFL franchise in the maritimes? Particularly if it’s from Regina?

Personally don’t care if your here to face Beethoven. . Preferred if you face the door. IMHO.

I’d love to see the count down clock of “games til Jones is fired”. He is a menace to the league. If he sticks in SK he will ruin that franchise. Will need to reconcile the menace to league canned view, with a desire to see the SK franchise moved to a location suitable for a Scooner team. I’ll work on the reconciliation.

JBR, I’m enjoying the respectful debate. However, you have not addressed the gravity of unclean hands that is on running man. Running man’s only expectation at that game was to be provided reasonable safety as a spectator at an event. He failed to observe the expectation that he would continue as a spectator as displayed on his ducat. Marcel Young does not have to be law enforcement to diffuse a situation. He put a a stop to an unruly situation created by reckless person and some people see that as totally justified, (confirmed by many of the posters in this small sample). He did not ruminate that day “I’m going to hurt a fan today”. In fact, it could be argued that Young took reasonable action in the circumstance. Self defence doesn’t need to be a defence for Young. He could be with no stretch whatsoever be considered a hero! Running man was being chased by CFL on field officials. Are you suggesting they had no right to diffuse the situation? Running man invoked mayhem. BC place et al operate the facility and are responsible for controlling the venue. The mayhem had to stop. The spectators had a right to expect a football game and not be subject riotous activities. In the streets, a Samaritan tackling a purse thief, is honoured, even if the culprit has injuries with his head hitting the ground. Young, as an employee of the B.C. Lions, had a significant and very legitimate interest in stopping the nonsense created by Running man. Young is more than a Good Samaritan. Perhaps it is also his obligation! In terms of damages, what are they? He claims a head injury. Still unproven. A headache is an injury but worth no more than what he could reasonably expected from his actions in a disregard for an event that he had no part. His contract with B.C. Place et al is as a spectator only. He gains no further rights by breach of his contract. The defending parties broke no law. He did broke the law, trespassing, when he failed to respect his role in the event. His actions are a text book example of unclean hands. These facts are the essence of tort law in Canada. Tort law is not a sword he can use, when his entitlement as a spectator provides him nothing more than a shield against unreasonable injury while appropriately in his place, at BC Place. As his advocate, your free to close if you desire.

Using a few Carter words...”to tell you the truth...”, carter is tonight’s goat. Add the goat of the game award to other weekly awards!!

Good interview by Spencer.

Two take aways for me. 1) the Saskatchewan Rough Riders are a bad team. 2) Northern Skunk is a Rider fan and troll.

I’m pleased with where he has it now.
