  1. The thing that amazes me is how Calgary is able to bring in impact players, year or year. If you want to beat them or at least stay in the game you have to play error free ball - all game long. Half the players that started tonight for the Stamps were either new or year 2 players - they just seem to have an organization that can bring in impact players year over year.
  2. How dare you imply that McMahon Stadium is not state of the art. You miss the point - McMahon is a vintage (1950's) Calgary landmark. I love my season tickets (business write off and I give them away) And Amen! I would love to see something new in Calgary but at my advanced age I doubt I will see it in my life time (after all I am 60 Now). I make it back to the Peg a couple of times a year and always time it to catch a game at IGF and what a treat it is to be there.
  3. I am think 3-2. Which would be good IMHO.
  4. Very hard to win back to back however i think we have a great chance to do so as long as we do not shoot ourselves in the foot etc. Just need to play error free ball and hopefully our defense can play at the level they did in Toronto.
  5. Wow Turn up the lights this one is done like dinner. Calgary seems to always find the players year in year out. What happens in the playoffs maybe different but this Calgary team seems to be heads above any of the rest.
  6. just back home (I live in Calgary) and turned on the game. Looks a lot like last week. Wonder how the Bombers will screw the pooch in the second half? The last few minutes did not give me much comfort.
  7. my grandmother can cover better than the bombers and she passed away 30 years ago!
  8. Toronto defense at times can really crank it up. Our Richie Hall defense? Another story. If the Bombers want to pull out a win it will be up to the offense to pull it out.
  9. All too True - tired of hearing how good/great the bombers look - just win baby that's all that counts. Everything else is just jibber jabber - and whether folks like love or hate the riders they appear to be on the upswing while the jury is still out on the Bombers. They need to at least split with Toronto to stay in the hunt. Not sold on the Bomber Defense by any stretch at this point in time.
  10. Got to admit, the Riders may be a lot better than we thought. Heck their defense even makes Sam Hurl look acceptable. As much as I hate to say it at the moment the weakest team in the West lives in the Peg. If the Bombers can not at least split with the Argos I think we are in for a very long season. Hats off to the Riders they laid a smack-down on the Cats!
  11. Hamilton big in this one. Doubt it will be very close.
  12. That's how I see it. Guy can run hot and cold in the same quarter. Just not consistent from game to game - season to season etc.
  13. that's how I see it too. Both teams win at home and we stand at 3-4. The next two games after that will be interesting both Hamilton and Ottawa come to our house. We might then be able to get above 500 before we go into Calgary last week in August and get clobbered.
  14. This is sort of my approach. When I lived in the Peg I lived and died each game. Died more that Lived. Now that I live in Calgary, I pick and choose which CFL games to watch. I have corporate season tickets to the Stamps but tend to give them away. I try and catch the bomber game when they come to town and maybe a Rider game but other than that give them away to clients. I am at the stage now when I at times, prefer to watch other teams play rather than a Bomber game. I hope they win and make it to the playoffs etc. but at the end of the day given what I believe is IMHO the worse CFL management group other than the gang in Montreal, I really do not get all that down when they lose.
  15. Bottom line to me - Even though the offense really stunk up the joint in the second half. The defense could not make the stops when necessary to at least get it into OT. And as others have indicated Lulay missed a large number of wide open receivers throughout the entire game. Richie Hall does not get a pass on this loss not now nor ever.
  16. My favorite stop during my tours of SW Saskatchewan was "Yellow Grass Sask" and yes what grass i saw was yellow!
  17. Getting there but until we can hang a win against Calgary and Edmonton not going to go there just yet.
  18. ok so I see you have been to Moose Jaw !
  19. i agree - you have to wonder if Wally will want to start Lulay this soon. It is a long season and if Lulay gets dinged next week that might be it for the season (and may career) for him. Wally might be better off just going with what he has and give Lulay a chance to be 100%. I guess we will know later this week what Wally's decision will be.
  20. I hope so.. Good game for the Bombers thought both sides of the ball contributed but am worried about Bowman - if he continues to be a no-show we need someone else to step up.
  21. that one was hard to figure out - with Bridge I think they had a chance as the Als were really not doing that much. I think playing Watford was Jones's way of telling everyone he runs the show in Regina. They now have back to back with Hamilton and it could get ugly in Regina if they drop both games.
  22. I actually do not mind Rider Fans posting here as long as what the have to say makes a little sense and is in good taste etc. I post over on RiderFans.com and as long as I keep it clean and reasonable never had any issues. I would expect the same treatment here for Rider Fans. Heck I would even welcome Nasty Nate back ----- Just kidding on that one!
  23. Any Defense that has Richie Hall as the DC is easy pickings for any QB even Willy. Would not surprise me to see him throw for 400 yds or more. Would like to see Leggett back to at least help.
  24. I agree - weather here in Calgary sucks (chilly and rain) however Huffnagel and group always seem to field a good team year in and year out. Looking for a Calgary dominated win.
