looks like this thread has been hijacked with Medlock discussions (is Nasty Nate still around) - Would like to get it back on topic which is the playoffs. IMHO the Riders have a great chance to do what no cross over team has done - Win the East. I think they are 1) for real and 2) have a good chance to beat the Argos. As for the West can not help but think that Calgary is just laying in the weeds getting ready to lay one on the Esks. Therefore I am predicting a Rider -Stamps Grey Cup! What do others think? And IMHO what ever Medlock does or does not do does not belong on this thread IMHO.

This is my feelings as well. I rate MOS an Average HC - LP - above average OC - Hall - F- as a DC and the front office with a "C-" over all. Saw some progress this year but IMHO minor in nature. To get to the next level requires a new DC and some talent at the obvious places along with ensure we do not lose to many of our key players to free agency etc. I would give the entire organization from top to bottom a "C" at best.

Yes I was mostly happy with what I saw this year. Bring in a legit DC and a legit MLB and throw in a few Import Wide outs and I think we will be OK provided we can keep the core nucleus around for 2018

I hate "what if's" also but even with a 100% healthy team I don't think we win. If for no other reason that a Richie Hall defense still gives up 400-500 yds even when healthy.

I did not watch the game - just could not watch it knowing what to expect from a Richie Hall defense. All the trends were there based on past performance by the defense. Bombers trending down - Esks trending up. One thing that someone posted on another post really resonated with me, something to the effect that did not matter what anyone said on forums like this - just did not matter to the folks that run the Bombers - and probably true. As much as I hate to say it - the Riders have a better plan in place than the Bombers do. I have no love for their GM etc. but he seems to understand how to build a team. Not sure Waters and Company do so. I may watch it tomorrow but would rather not put myself through the aggravation etc. In any event Bombers had a winning season and maybe that is all we can ask for these day.

Agree 100% Much rather take our chances with the Riders. Reilly just scares me at times. I think we match up better against the Riders.

I agree - but not sold on Richie Hall still - but the DL played their best game of the year. Not sure what happen to the Stamps OL they have been pretty good all year but not last night.

Just from a revenue perspective I would rather see the Riders here. It will be a sell out! Not so probably with Edmonton. From a win perspective I would rather face whatever the Riders bring to the table than face Reilly. As someone mentioned you can control him all game long and then he beats you at the end with a long throw. I think entertainment wise I would rather see the Riders in town and all the build up etc.

I think Ground and Pound is what Calgary will do with their 240 lb back. Sam Hurl will have cleat marks up and down his font getting in the way of Messam - who by the way he will not stand a ghost of a chance of stopping. Gave my seats away as I am heading out to see Jersey Boys instead.

That would work for me! Save money or airfare! Calgary weather is for snow starting actually tonight and lasting all through the week and into the weekend. I live in Calgary - have season tickets (super red) and am going to see Jersey Boys instead!

I agree - most of the talks shows here in Calgary are saying the same thing. Does not really matter though - they could sit BLM and the entire starting line up on Friday and not big deal - they still will have more than enough to handle the Richie Hall Defense. Heck they could get the Calgary University Dino's to send their second string and still win.

not sure who those "certain posters" are but your comments regarding the Stamps is very misplaced. I live in Calgary (as do you it appears) and am a season ticket holder here - I guess you are were not at the Stamps game when the Riders blasted them. The folks I sit with in the super reds were pissed believe me, and the talk shows have not been very favorable to say the least. And to put it in perspective everyone knows that with Huff and Dickenson running the show things will improve. Can not say the same with Walters, Moss and company at least IMHO. 25 years without a cup appearance will do that to you. So good luck boychuk with the 11 win season and zero prospects for getting anywhere in the playoffs - yes there is always 2018 to look forward to!

I have to go with a Winnipeg loss and an Edmonton Win for two reasons Reason No 1 - doubt the Stamps will want to enter the playoffs with 3 losses Reason No 2 - Jones may want to rest a few of his folks for the trip east bound. So if your correct the Bombers One and Done game will be played in Edmonton.

My point on this being a "Must Win Game" is not related to standings etc. I understand full well that the Bombers can lose today - lose in Calgary etc. and regardless of what happens elsewhere will be in a play off game. My thoughts on why IMHO it is a must win game is more related to confidence and setting the table for success in the playoffs. There comes a time when you just have to stand up and take a stand. Backing into the playoffs is not taking a positive approach. Time to man up - get the win and set the table for a positive run in the playoffs.

Well heck yes! under your philosophy there never is a must win game! There is always next year and then the year after that - ad Nauseam! For me I am drawing the line in the sand. This IMHO is a "Must Win Game" for all the reasons others have posted. Maybe we should think of it as an "Aw Sucks Game - Kinda of nice to win - sorta of would be nice! Ugh!

I tend to agree and think this an absolute must win. Really do not want to go into Calgary and need the win. Even if Calgary rests their entire team we never seem to have much luck in Cowtown.

I do have some concerns - Lions have nothing to lose - we do and therefore will be tight. If we lose to the Lions and go into Calgary with a need to win and even though Calgary is not playing for any thing other than keeping sharp for the Western Finals, I really do not like our chances for a win in Calgary

With TWO games left here is what I think could and probably will happen (note the term probably) Week 19 MTL - Sask (easy win for the riders) BC-WPG (a must win or else we are in deep do-do if we want to host a home game) CAL-EDM - Calgary gets their mojo back and does us a big favor and stomps on the Esks Week 20 WPG - CAL - hopefully a nothing game so anything is possible but to be fair I think Calgary will be focused on getting their game back. EDM-SASK - this one will be interesting and not sure what to think- If and that is a big if the Bombers have locked down home field based on a win in Week 19 than this game determines who crosses over to the East and who comes to the Peg for the semi final. IF and that is a Great Big IF we beat BC next week then what happens in Week 20 is does not matter all that much for us. However if we lose to BC in the Peg and need a win in Calgary in week 20 I really think we will be hard pressed to beat Calgary even though the game will not mean all that much to them. What do others think?
