  1. I am head and shoulders better than Hurl! And I am old and slow
  2. I would start anyone over Sam Hurl - Anyone! I paid special attention to his play today and all I can say is that I could do better (and I am 72 years old). Worse MLB in the league hands down.
  3. I can't help but agree. The Als have been too use to being the chase for a number of years and under Kavis Reed they have steadfastly declined year over year. I think there will be a new GM and coach (plus a lot of jettison baggage) come 2018.
  4. quick question - if the Bombers lose the final 4 games and depending on what the Riders do will the Bombers only have the cross over to look forward to? I guess there are too many variables to consider at the moment with 4 games still left to play etc.
  5. gotta agree - we may or probably will make the playoff's even if a cross over (if we lose all the last 4) does not matter - Never going very far in any playoff scenario with a Richie Hall Defense - nope not going to happen IMHO.
  6. Amen! Could not have said it better! Never going anywhere with the Richie Hall defense.
  7. I was wondering what the consensus was around the Bombers projected finish over the last four games? BC at Winnipeg Winnipeg at Toronto BC at Winnipeg Winnipeg at Calgary I am thinking at least 2 wins and maybe 3 might be achievable - If the Bombers can win the next two then what happens in the final two would not matter all that much one would think.
  8. Really hard call - I am starting to come around to Chris Jones - just not there yet. After Toronto's come from behind victory over the Tiger Cats I wonder if they will be down a little? Hard to say but I believe the Riders will prevail.
  9. Gutsy win for the Bombers. Defense won this one IMHO. Justin Medlock did have an off day but he will bounce back next week. Solid win for the Big Blue
  10. Reilly and the fact that Edmonton has lost a number of games in a row has me also worried. They are to good a team to continue the losing streak. I really worry about our weak Defence as a whole. We have not gotten a good pass rush for a number of weeks. If we give Reilly all that time he will kill us.
  11. I tend to agree with you - just do not see the big blow out that others seem to think will happen. I will be happen with a good performance by both sides of the ball with a comfortable win.
  12. Not all that comfortable regarding any blow out - The Big Blue over the years had struggled when they should not have struggled against rookie QB's. There have been games where the Bomber Defense has made rookie QB's look like All Stars. I think logic would indicate a Bomber victory but I would not go so far as to say a blow out. Just when you think the Bombers should have an easy victory they tend to self destruct at times.
  13. following some of the discussions over on Riderfans.com and it appears that the Riders suffered a number of injuries during the game and as of this morning no one has any feel for how serious nor nor how long etc. I thought the Rider QB played a pretty good game in the first half however for whatever reason the Riders got too conservative in the second half and almost lost the game. Hamilton on the other hand seems to have played one of their worse games of the years in some eyes. Next week for the Riders will be interesting as they have the Stamps at home.
  14. Folks over on Riderfans.com think this is an easy win for them. Will be funny to see what they come up with if the Tabbies pull out the win.
  15. Yes Please! Please! Please! but doubt it will ever happen
  16. Maybe it is Nasty Nate under a new "noms de plume" He has wore out every other name. I don't even know if Migs posts over on the rider site anymore.
  17. Did happen to notice that the majority of the folks posting over on Riderfans.com were very complimentary toward the Bomber win. Had a few that always blame the losses on everything but that appeared to be a minority. I was happy about the results but as is posted elsewhere the road to the Grey Cup will have to come through Calgary and given the Bomber defense and what Calgary brings to the table I think it will be a very tough road.
  18. your are correct - the Riders have a lot of games against the east (away games against Ham,Ottawa,Toronto. Home against Ottawa and Montreal. The back-breaker will be the home and away against the Stamps. Hamilton has won two in a row and if the Riders lose in Hamilton it will be interesting to see what Jones plan will be. All depends on how long Glenn is out and as of this morning does not appear to be any announcement.
  19. Gotta ask where did you find the kool pic of Dieter Brock? I have a old Brock tee-shirt that is just about had the biscuit as I have had it forever. Would love to get a new one but not sure where to go.
  20. Agree somewhat - great win but tons of room for improvement. With the lead we shoudl have pounded the rock a little more IMHO. And agree on getting Thorpe back in the lineup. He is just too talented to sit out games IMHO.
  21. that's the best part - The riders are back in the basement. Looks good on them.
  22. Got the lead at Half - but unless the Bomber DB's start playing football doubt we will keep the lead. Richie Hall Defense - Horrible!
  23. whoever wins the turnover battle wins the game IMHO. I hear lots of folks saying we need to put significant pressure on Glenn however to date we have not had much success with putting pressure on the QB. Maybe we don't have the horses to do so. Given that the Riders probably (IMHO) will not run the ball all that much maybe we replace Hurl with another DB in order to cover the Rider receivers and maybe put a few blitz packages together etc. I don't think the Riders will be able to put all that much pressure on our QB so hopefully he will have a better game than last week.
  24. Got to think BC gets back in the win column tonight
  25. not at all I have been very positive this year. Just have not posted much here as per my aforementioned issue. And I have no problem getting out of bed in the mornings - but thanks for the kind thoughts. Still maintain that one more receiver available to the Riders even at the expense of Marshall makes them that much tougher against the Richie Hall bend bend break style of defense. Still not convinced that the Bombers are an elite team - they could be with a tighter defense but never going to happen with Richie Hall IMHO.
