Something had to be done. This is a good move.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/health/who-panel-covid-lab-leak-1.6210964 Just crazy to think it's been nearly two years since the first detection of COVID-19 in China and we still don't know its actual origin.

Yeah, the Stampeders' offense was mostly meh. No stat line from any offensive player jumped off the page. Their defense and ST are solid but that's not saying much, particularly with the former because the Lions look pretty craptacular without Whitehead. I'd say the Stampeders have turned a page and will likely take second place in the division. That being said, they don't look all that formidable.

The team's defensive zone play is atrocious so far.

I imagine political figures the world over will be looking over the shoulders the next little while. That is some seriously unsettling ****.

Considering the state of the world these days, it's hardly unexpected. Nor does it make any member of it lazy.

Cherry-picking a handful of players over a 15-year span to prop up some feeble defense of a below average kicker is comical. Speaking of revisionist history... Peterson was traded in 2005 from a lousy team to another lousy team in Hamilton. The return was Brazzel, who performed well here for the balance of that season. Bowman had a brutal case of the dropsies in 2010 and was demoted and released. That's hardly uncommon in professional sports and the CFL is no exception. LaBatte played here for four seasons and was basically a perennial all-star during that time. He signed in 2012 with his childhood team in his home province, which is common in this league. His commentary on the fans here, if he even said any of it, is nothing more than biased nonsense. Hajrullahu signed elsewhere as a free agent after a lousy sophomore season in 2015. To suggest the team "gave up" on any of those players is comically absurd.

Some serious clown content from Walker in that article. I guess he needs to brush up on his CFL history. One of the most unforgiving defensive units in decades and his response is, to quote Shania Twain: "that don't impress me much." A top tier receiver who's only managed 59 yards in two games against this defense... And now he's given them more fodder for tonight's matchup.

Hardly a shocking take from you based on your commentary in this sub-forum. But still as absurd as ever. Dubois averages .64 PPG over his career (281 GP)[https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/d/duboipi01.html]; Copp averages .36 PPG (412 GP)[https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/c/coppan01.html]; Lowry averages .32 PPG (461 GP)[https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/l/lowryad01.html]. But sure, Dubois "is 4th line good." What a ridiculous statement. In fewer games he's roughly twice as productive as either Copp or Lowry. One rough season doesn't change that fact. Dubois was traded after a falling out in Columbus, had to self-isolate, join a new team, learn a new system, build a rapport with his linemates, and then got injured in the process - and put up 20 points in those 41 games played. Did he struggle? Yeah. Does he need to be better? Absolutely. Is he a bottom 6 forward? Abso-*******-lutely not.

What an absolutely idiotic article. And a strange analogy, to be sure. Also: since when is IGF West one of the "best venues" on this continent?

He signed with the Argos prior to the 2018 season as a free agent. His stint as a Bomber was a fun one to watch. Solid player and person.

https://www.bizjournals.com/tampabay/news/2021/08/10/tampas-cirkul-water-bottle-company-closes-30m.html Unfortunate for the Bombers as they had to forfeit second overall in 2016 for him but his business has taken off recently.

Retirement or a new gig? Seems like the latter but it's hard to be sure based on how seemingly sudden this announcement is. https://www.tsn.ca/sportscaster-rod-black-signs-off-from-tsn-1.1706343

Brutal showing last night. Nobody really stood out and the Jets were mostly awful in their own end without the puck. Powerplay was the only real bright spot, IMO. Gibson made sure there was no damage done, though. The hyperbole and panic over one game is a bit much. Remember 2017-18 when this team started out the gate poorly? There are 81 games left to play. On to San Jose.

I just can't stomach the thought of another game with Mourtada shanking kicks. I can't!! His kicking:
-
It's baffling not only how horribly bad Mourtada is with FG and convert duties but how the Bombers can't find someone better. What gives? And what's Hajrullahu waiting for down south? It looks like NFL opportunities have all but dried up for him.

They sort of do when they get to play by their own rules, don't pay their fair share in taxes, and get ridiculous subsidies within their operating jurisdictions to keep those profits ridiculously high (often to support shareholders who are already very well off). It's not at all dissimilar to oil companies who have contributed to pollution via emissions and destruction of the environment/ecosystems while benefitting from corporate socialism to continue hoarding wealth. An individual's personal footprint can and should not be ignored and that no doubt speaks to a broader issue regarding our consumption habits, rampant consumerism, poor infrastructure/systems related to recycling, and other societal factors. However, exorbitantly wealthy corporate entities can and should be leading the charge. The top polluters in the world consist of large multinational corporations motivated by nothing more than greed, and in a similar vein to oil companies, they often commit to empty words and promises to be better. But things are only getting worse and are projected to continue worsening into the near future. https://www.minderoo.org/plastic-waste-makers-index/news/revealed-businesses-and-banks-behind-global-plastic-waste-crisis/

Nah. https://www.canada.ca/en/canadian-heritage/campaigns/national-day-truth-reconciliation.html Victoria Day should still be renamed (there's no reason to celebrate a monarch from an age long passed) but that's a separate issue from Sep. 30th and what it represents.

He's like Chris Streveler... minus the Chris Streveler. No heart, no selflessness, no courage. Fajardo's been exposed and he's not handling the adversity well at all.
