https://www.cbc.ca/news/marketplace/marketplace-covid-conspiracy-boot-camp-1.5963503 Imagine being such an ignorant, misinformed piece of **** that you'd willingly waste your time and money on helping spread lies and conspiracy theories peddled by an American anti-vaxxer. Human stupidity is the pandemic for which there seems to be no cure.

It's honestly disheartening. Even more so if this becomes a trend with players in the middle of their pro careers.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/auditor-general-pandemic-covid-phac-1.5963895 TLDR; Canada got caught with its pants down due to a lack of preparedness regarding a global health crisis.

Ugh, this is some craptacular news. Fack.

No, he's not. Ekhom is a LD. And you should probably just let go of the idea of Morrissey being moved. It's not happening.
-
Well, this is pretty big news.

This is a valid point. And the crucial element is the fact that some of that insanity bleeds into our country and poisons a fair share of people. I'm still envious as hell of Australia, anyway. That country is a shining example of how to handle a crisis like this one. New Zealand, too.

Expansion Draft - Seattle Kraken Edition
blue_gold_84 replied to JCon's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
I have to wonder if the Jets decide to sit him before his six games are up and he winds up exposed. Hard to do considering how well he's played this season and he continues to just quietly improve with each game. He's smart, physical, and plays with a nice level of sandpaper. I'm glad he's not the "bust" so many armchair GMs labelled him to be. But yeah, if he meets the eligibility criteria there's no way the Jets leave him exposed. -
His dog-whistle bullshit is just nauseating already. It's like watching a washed up comedian try to bounce back but all he has is old, played out material that nobody found entertaining in the first place. I'm sure the RedNexit talk has been ramped up again the last few hours.

Kenney's already on TV whining to the media about the decision and the "Eastern Elites" disrespecting the west again. This clown's tune never changes.

There is a facility being built in Montreal: https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/vaccines-canada-production-trudeau-1.5897343 That does the country little good at present, though. It should've been done years ago.

This has happened a few times this season. It chaps my ass because it's like the team just stops playing for a shift or two late in a game and gives up a bad opportunity. I think Hellebuyck could have a few more shutouts if not for those late game brain farts. Copp and the third line had a hell of a game. The Canucks are struggling offensively but the Jets played solid two-way hockey for the bulk of that series, so hopefully that bodes well going forward. Right up there for the division lead!

Globalism isn't the enemy here. Canada has nobody to blame for this dilemma but itself after dismantling its own domestic infrastructure for vaccine production a few decades ago. That shortsightedness back then is what's put us in this present situation, so pointing fingers at other countries or crying about the Globalist Bogeyman is just childish and ignorant.

Really opens up a can of worms for the league and speaks to the joke officiating and DOPS are as a whole. No impartiality whatsoever. IIRC, Peel was supposed to retire after this season. I wonder what he'll have to say now about the league post-retirement.

Just out of curiosity, how is this political stance even possible? It's like saying I care about people (socially liberal) but not enough to see them cared for on a systemic level (fiscally conservative). I agree with you on Canada's political landscape at present. It's in a precarious position.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/conservative-opposition-motion-reopen-economy-1.5960223 "bUt ThE eCoNoMy!" A federal plan makes little sense when you consider the differences between regions across this vast country.

Why would they? They're living the "dream."

Same line-up, different pairings.

Were you expecting any? And if so, who?

I have a feeling this is going to become the norm in the coming years for events such as sports, shows, concerts, etc. whenever large groups of people gather in a venue. And I'm more than okay with that.

This is such a horrible take. Morrissey hasn't been the same since Trouba was traded (which speaks to the importance of pairing chemistry) but to suggest he's been just outright bad is ridiculous. His analytics are still solid even if they've fallen off. Keep in mind this team lost 4/6 of its starting blue line in a single off-season. There's no recovering from that in any short time, especially when the void has to be filled with stopgaps like Sbisa, Bitetto, Beaulieu, etc. Until the Jets can find a RHD partner to pair well with him (I expected Poolman to be that player but it hasn't worked out), we'll continue seeing this blue line blender and defensive struggles. Trading him away when the depth is already shallow enough would be a terribly shortsighted move. Also, if he's so bad, why would any other team want him?
