You talk about him and bring him up more than you discuss "Big Chris"... Despite your supposed dislike for the former. I'd say that's hilarious if it weren't so sad.

You all need to apologize to Paul LaPolice.

Well, neither scenario is going to happen. But no, I'd rather not lose a player like Bighill. At least not right now. -

At his current salary, you'd have to trim substantial salary elsewhere on the roster. That contract comes at a cost: roster stability and a weaker supporting cast for that very QB. -

How so? It's purely a coincidence. The Eskimos had a better record in 2018 (9-9) than they did this past season (8-10). The Lions simply won the season series last season despite also posting a 9-9 record, and thus won the crossover berth. -
Let's look up the definition of formidable. Now, let's look at his stats vs. the Bombers in three games this past season. Week 12: 25/39 (64.1 comp. %), 300 passing yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs, 2 rushes for 8 yards Week 13: 16/24 (66.7 comp. %), 196 passing yards, 1 INT, 5 rushes for 46 yards and 1 TD Week 17: 18/28 (64.3 comp. %), 300 passing yards, 1 TD, 9 rushes for 49 yards Competent? Yes. Capable? Yes. But formidable...? As in instilling fear and inspiring wonder...?

That ONE win.....that ONE loss

2001 Grey Cup - hands down. That team absolutely dominated the league that season and chose to take its final opponent lightly. I still remember the feeling sitting on my friend's couch, almost staring through the TV as I was overcome by disbelief and disappointment. 2007 is a distant second personally. I knew the team was in trouble when Glenn walked off the field in Toronto holding onto his arm. What's crazy is how the team went on to only lose by four measly points in the championship game. It was disappointing but nowhere near 2001 for me. Nothing comes close to that in my fandom for the WFC. -
This reply seems about right:

That roster is in rough in large part to that insane contract he's got. He's one of the best QBs in the league but he needs a supporting cast to succeed. It's going to be a tall order for whoever takes on the HC job in BC in 2020. -
"Yeah, he had a successful and lengthy NFL career," said nobody ever.

As bad as fans of the blue foliage. An immeasurable amount of homer bias paired with a complete lack of objectivity, even when facts and numbers fly right in front of their stupid faces. Fajardo's health is going to be a key factor, IMO. That torn oblique is not helpful for throwing a football.

Hellebuyck was the least of the team's problems last night, if he was even a problem at all. Unless you think a goalie getting hung out to dry by the team in front of him is somehow on him. Saying he needs to smarten up made no sense.
-
Did you even watch the game last night?

I stayed in all day yesterday and watched coverage of Remembrance Day ceremonies held across the country - same as I've done every November 11th as far back as I can remember. I then spent the evening finishing up the vinyl flooring in my basement with the help of my Dad. It does say a lot about a person who jumps to baseless conclusions about a complete stranger's views, though. I chose not to address your rant about business hours because it's an entirely separate issue from Cherry's firing and has literally nothing to do with it. There's nothing to gain by having that discussion in this thread. I then proceeded to tell you what's inaccurate with your statements about freedom of expression and political correctness and you choose to acknowledge none of it, instead getting defensive - as usual - and then ranting some more. And last I checked, the person hung up on wearing poppies lost his job yesterday for how he chose to broach the subject on national TV. It's clear as day who doesn't get it in this thread.
-
I won't even begin to try and understand the incoherent rant about business hours and how irrelevant any of that is here, but I will address this part that's completely off base. Canada has what's called freedom of expression. It is a fundamental and protected right under section 2 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. (https://www.canada.ca/en/canadian-heritage/services/how-rights-protected/guide-canadian-charter-rights-freedoms.html#a2b) Don Cherry is no exception and he's free to say whatever he wants - as he's done for years, often in his own crude and uncouth way. However, freedom of expression does not mean freedom from the consequences of what's expressed. Political correctness hasn't replaced anything, especially freedom of expression. Being held accountable for saying stupid things is nothing new.
-
Seriously, what is wrong with her brain? Grapes has gone off on senseless rants often. This most recent one appeared to be the last straw for many, including his employer. "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes." It's that simple.
-
Damn right he doesn't. You don't bail on your team. It's unprofessional, disrespectful, and childish. That's a solid jerkstore move. What exactly is there to defend, anyway? I'm condemning what he did - and that alone.
-
Darring Bauming is such an idiot. And apparently can't research jack ****.

Sucks to be a Jets fan right now... But life doesn't seem much better for Avs fans:
-
This. And how can anyone try and put a decision made by a player on the coach? Gaitor feels he's bigger than the team, decided not to accept a different role, and chose to be a clown and bail on the team. That's on him and him alone. No single player is ever bigger than the team.

Hey Anthony...

Thanks for clarifying and my bad for assuming. The stats I listed were Little's, not Scheifele's. He and Wheeler have been colossally disappointing so far this season. I can't figure it out but neither are playing smart two-way hockey right now, which is bad because they're both leaders on this team.
-
2017 seemed like the best season in which he implemented his system effectively and mostly avoided whatever shortcomings he's had the last two seasons. I'm not sure what's changed or why it did.
-
Did a sports media outlet do pointless surveys back in the 70s, 80s, or 90s...? Although, I'm sure at some point during that 30-year span, someone complained about the weather while being employed by a professional hockey team here in Winnipeg. Sweet Jesus.
-
How has he been playing poorly this season? He's got 5 points in 7GP and his possession numbers are among the best on the team (and were sitting at career highs for him personally). Despite the injury he sustained during the pre-season, he was having a very nice start prior to Tuesday's horrific incident.
