Prior to his injury, Nichols was on pace for around 3,800 yards. That isn't too far off the mark. 4,000 passing yards in this offense isn't an unrealistic figure.

Remember: ESPN polled 50 of them. 50... out of around 700 in the entire league. Of those 50, 21 don't like coming to Winnipeg. ESPN then extrapolated that data. So, you're right: **** what a handful of these privileged, overpaid wieners have to say.

What the hell are you yammering on about now? The Bombers made the playoffs, in large part thanks to that 7-2 start.
-
While I agree with replacing Hall, too much hangs in the balance right now. Until we know how the HC situation unfolds, the organization is effectively stuck.

This. What is the point of polling a bunch of millionaire athletes, anyway? I guess it generates a discussion, albeit a needless one. Bottom line: you get to play a sport for a living, traveling around the continent (and sometimes the world), all the while getting paid pretty obscene amounts of money and being treated like kings. Then again, this is an ESPN thing... So, I wouldn't expect much hard-hitting hockey coverage from there. "Let's poll 50 NHL players and extrapolate the data." Interesting how in all of the attention this poll is getting, this quote gets ignored: https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/28006296/most-dreaded-road-trip-best-dressing-room-gritty-fatigue The quote about a player needing to wash his face after being outside here is actually pathetic. That's the dumbest **** I've read in a good while.

Because the team's defensive zone play is streaky as hell and special teams are struggling.
-
Little getting nailed with that puck last night was awful. I hope he's okay. Game was a bit of a stinker, too. Hellebuyck had a great night between the pipes, though.

This. Getting the city to host a NHL Entry Draft would be a nice way to showcase Winnipeg to the league and the fans. I think the last two years of playoffs helped the city's image to some degree, too. Those Whiteout Parties downtown were a fantastic time.

It's not simply a matter of changing up the defense pairings. +/- paints, at best, a blurry and incomplete picture. There's way too much variability in such a statistic, hence the criticism it's faced since it was first introduced and more so since analytics and possession metrics have been implemented. How is an arbitrary statistic like +/- a reliable way to assess a single player when there are typically five in total on the ice? If player A makes a mistake and it results in a goal against, players B through E all get a -1. That alone speaks to its flawed nature. https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/just-doesnt-add-history-future-plus-minus/

I don't know the specifics of Collaros' health prior to his acquisition. I'm merely speculating but a week or two less of inaction on the WFC's part could've helped their chances in either game.

Yeah, nine years ago. When it happened. You know, what usually occurs immediately after an oil spill... It's in the news. Countless organizations continue to protest oil production in the Gulf of Mexico, as they do in other locations such as the Oil Sands and the Canadian Arctic. I'm not sure I understand what this whataboutism has to do with anything, though. A pipeline spill just happened in North Dakota and - imagine this - it's in the news. What does the Gulf Coast of the US have to do with that, much less an oil spill there nearly a decade ago? I digress. How have politicians and environmental groups shut down the oil industry in Alberta? Could you share an actual, legitimate source to substantiate such a bold statement? I'd be interested to know what specific political figures and/or environmental groups have realistically managed such a feat. Cognitive dissonance has nothing to do with the political left or the right, BTW. So, I suggest you look up what it actually means instead of resorting to your usual tactics, labeling others presumptuously and getting defensive.

I think if the team had addressed the QB issue a bit earlier, their chances would've been much better in either game. That loss to the Riders was just nauseating to watch.
-
Their record through the first half of the season was pretty good (7-2), so one could argue the team did enough. However, those two ugly road losses to the Argos and the Als now loom large, as many said they would. Couple those with the mediocre second half record (4-5) and the third place finish comes as no surprise. A good start was easily forgotten when a lousy finish became realer with each mounting loss. The Bombers' playoff campaign will be tough once again and they have nobody to blame for it but themselves.

Yeah, this is pretty silly and perhaps even a bit petty on Pascucci's part. I suppose it could be argued Trouba isn't playing up to par with his salary but that's neither here nor there (the same argument could be made for Morrissey) and the reality is there's more to it than just looking at the money and the statistics. Trouba was a key piece of the blue line here. Comparing him to Pionk doesn't make much sense, IMO.

Public reactions to the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill: https://abcnews.go.com/WNT/video/conversation-boycott-bp-facebook-movement-10910882 https://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/03/us/03boycott.html https://web.archive.org/web/20100604034354/http://wcco.com/consumer/bp.protest.bloomington.2.1725132.html https://web.archive.org/web/20100706120409/http://www.neworleans.com/news/local-news/404880.html https://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/music/lady-gaga-rise-against-disturbed-join-korns-bp-boycott-oh-yes-and-creed-too-6620180 Wow, the cognitive dissonance is mystifying. Try Google sometime. And speaking of cognitive dissonance, we have this nonsense: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/wexit-federal-registration-1.5347597

Would Jones leave Montreal for Winnipeg? Especially after the success he's had this season, I'd say that seems very unlikely. Then there's this:

Best pie chart ever.

Of course it is. +/- does little to paint any kind of clear or accurate picture, though. Well, no. It was just one, generally useless stat you posted. And what's with the ma'am BS?

Okay... And?

And Maas maybe ends up in Ottawa... Maybe. Add another member to the CFL's list of global partners: https://www.cfl.ca/2019/11/04/japan-becomes-latest-gridiron-league-partner-cfl/

This has been ongoing for some time now and gets very little attention. The MacKenzie Delta is an incredibly rich region in terms of its ecological diversity, not to mention its size and the watershed in which it's situated. There's an amazing amount of research being conducted in Canada's North and ARI is one such organization: https://nwtresearch.com/ I was fortunate enough to attend to Western Arctic Research Centre two summers ago, with two presentations covering the delta and how it's changing due to climate change and the ongoing warming of the arctic. Neither painted the prettiest picture as far as the future of the region is concerned. Permafrost and carbon monitoring are two significant concerns. And for anyone who thinks Canada's role in climate change is a drop in the bucket, think again: https://www.carbonbrief.org/the-carbon-brief-profile-canada

No, you didn't. Your first post attempted to point out some double standard that doesn't exist. Why would the reactions be proportionate? The values test Leitch proposed was for an entire country; this one is for a single province. And in both cases, there's the substantial opposition to either - and the article I shared above explains why. You may also want to refrain from telling others to relax when you're the one getting worked up over this double standard you fabricated. A poll conducted in 2017, around the time Leitch's idea was proposed, showed that the vast majority of Canadians are in favour of a values test for immigrants: https://www.macleans.ca/society/canada-supports-a-values-test-but-not-the-values-of-the-far-right/ However, the types of questions being asked in this test are the issue, not the test itself. I mean, there was division among the right over this whole idea back then, so take that FWIW. And if you are genuinely concerned about the "proportionate" media coverage this issue is getting compared to the one from two years ago, you'll have to do the legwork yourself. That seems more productive than making some of the needless and inflammatory comments you have in this thread today.

Ah, yes... Moving goalposts. It's clear you didn't even bother to read the article or the opinions of someone far more familiar with the topic than you are. I'm always baffled at someone who just can't admit he's wrong on something and instead chooses to dig himself deeper into a hole by making progressively dumber comments. Read the article.

There has been criticism of this move by the Quebec provincial gov't since it came to light. Here's one instance, so have a read before commenting next time: https://montrealgazette.com/news/local-news/test-implies-immigrants-have-a-problem-with-quebec-values-muslim-association-says
