  1. John Bowman can go fornicate with a steaming hot plate of poutine. What a jackwad.
  2. What a useless article from a clearly ignorant and stupid person. Seriously... What a moronic opinion to have. **reminds self to stop by Craft Beer Market on the way home from work today**
  3. A few sports journalists chose to play judge, jury, and executioner here - likely as far back as July when the trace amounts BS first came to light. They had all but made up their minds back then, IMO. And yet, Harris continued to dominate this season, having one of his best games just a few weeks ago vs. MTL. So, I guess it begs the question: what "advantage" did trace amounts of some archaic steroid give him exactly? It's just a goddamn shame... A dominant, historic season mired in some stupid, shitty controversy. It really grinds my gears.
  4. New elevation data triple estimates of global vulnerability to sea-level rise and coastal flooding: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-019-12808-z Obviously, estimating into the future is challenging the further down the line you go (and the article states just that near the end). Nevertheless, these estimates shed some light on troubling trends for a significant portion of the world's population into the next 80 years.
  5. I get disliking the PM for actual, legitimate reasons but this level of tinfoil hattery is preposterous. Although, I'm sure these two assclowns also accuse him of singlehandedly destroying Alberta's economy, much in the same vein as the rational and objective opinion columns from Bonokoski, Lilley, and Goldstein. So, the clownshoes seem to fit. #rednexit has been trending recently. It's got a nice ring to it.
  6. https://www.tsn.ca/colorado-avalanche-f-gabriel-landeskog-lower-body-out-indefinitely-1.1389125 Looks like it's the Nate Mack show for now.
  7. Collaros gets the start. Give Streveler jumbo and perhaps some trick plays.
  8. At least the sun serves a purpose.
  9. Of course you couldn't find it. It's not on NoTricksZone. So, here ya go: https://www.pnas.org/content/early/2019/10/15/1911130116 "fAke NeWs!" - the rebuttal of the ignorant and uninformed
  10. It's real, alright. Real stupid and poorly thought out. Nothing more than sore loser syndrome from a province that chose to bankrupt its future and is now feeling the effects. And instead of pointing the blame at its previous and current provincial leadership, the actual ones responsible, it's all "let's play victim and act like Ottawa let us down" or "it's all because Quebec keeps stealing from us." What a piss-poor attitude. Peter Lougheed must be spinning in his grave.
  11. Anyway, back on topic: https://www.ctvnews.ca/sci-tech/climate-change-making-stronger-el-ninos-study-1.4648276
  12. But what is there for us to "suck up" exactly? It's hilarious to see the bLuE wAvE turn so quickly into blue tears. Who are the snowflakes now? Wexit… Give me a ******* break.
  13. Nobody said anything about the world ending or humanity going extinct. That kind of fearmongering is exactly what's not needed. The scientific community's consensus is 2030 is the tipping point for when it'll be too late to make meaningful changes if we continue to just go on as we are with our current rates of consumption of fossil fuels. The UN merely supports that assertion, along with the other science-backed findings showing human-influenced climate change is a real issue as far as our collective future is concerned. By your logic, you might as well deny physics, chemistry, and biology, and support the domed flat earth movement. Because in all likelihood, the boogeymen at the UN support all that proven science, too.
  14. Whines erroneously in another thread about being attacked... Then proceeds to attack others. What pitiful, idiotic behaviour. And of course you quote NoTricksZone. Again. That site is trash and you damn well know it is. Could you at least put a modicum of effort into this thread for once? It's like having a discussion with a potato. But that'd be an insult to potatoes.
  15. He already made it clear he won't step down. Weird how he expected Trudeau to step down if he lost the election, but won't do the same now that he's the one who actually wound up losing. Fascinating double standard. FWIW, I think he'll become a scapegoat sooner than later (if he hasn't already) and the CPC will have another leadership race in the next 12-18 months. Any actual, valid proof to substantiate this claim? Nah.
  16. You're right. I should've been clearer initially. Sorry. What I should've said is the first female PM elected under normal* circumstances who didn't lose her seat and position after a federal election six months after the fact. * normal in that it doesn't involve a PM retiring That or just anyone with some substance. The 2017 CPC leadership election was embarrassing and I'm not sure if the party has recovered from it. I have no doubt the party would be much stronger with someone like Ambrose at the helm. The fact she was selected by Trudeau as a member of the NAFTA Advisory Council two years ago speaks volumes to her knowledge, experience, and quality as a political figure. Well said, the bolded parts in particular. Lots of big changes happened last night. Here's hoping they'll get back to work for the benefit of this country and its people, and put the petty differences and BS aside. Now the burning question: does Scheer step down?
  17. He was a lousy choice to begin with. Then again, the 2017 CPC leadership race was uninspiring at best. FWIW, I think Rona Ambrose would've been a great choice had she thrown her hat into the ring. We could even be discussing the first female PM right this minute. Scheer did win his riding, so we'll see. Singh is safe, IMO.
  18. Pathetic cherry-picking. Maybe read the entire article before posting it. It's actually pathetic to see such disingenuous commentary. A greening planet does not mean the science on climate change isn't settled. Keep that "rationale" head buried in the sand, though.
  19. Nice try. I "attacked" your content, not you. Maybe make better contributions to the discussions and it won't be so easy. Just a thought. And remind me again: who's the one getting in his blue panties in a wad over a harmless, albeit accurate image posted on a forum? Consult a mirror. Oh, man... The richness of this comment.
  20. Nice job missing the point. Not the first time, though. Your political bias is almost as embarrassing as your comments in the climate change thread.
  21. Does anyone honestly wonder why nothing changes? This will be another crap election, regardless of the party that "wins"... We, the taxpayer, ultimately lose - each and every damned time.
  22. Congrats, Coach!
  23. I'd love to know how many 2-pt converts this defense has allowed under Hall's "leadership" since 2015... Or even just the last three seasons. I expect the number to be high. I also don't get why the offense doesn't go for more. Not sure if it would've helped last night's end result but I feel like this is just another facet of this offense's glaring lack of a killer instinct. And in either case, it's inexcusable.
  24. So, his perceived lack of politeness is the issue...? That's quite a reach. I fail to understand how he operates differently than other coaches when dealing with the media. Do other CFL head coaches provide more information to their media members or the fans? I can't say I've seen anything to support that notion. I also fail to see how his methods hinder the organization. The call-in show is a joke and most of the press conferences aren't any better. I guess perhaps I just don't care enough about that minutia; what happens on the field is what matters. The radio shows and pressers are basically just background noise, anyway. And it sounds like some media members and fans feel like they're owed something by the WFC as far as information of its behind-the-scenes operations goes. That's a pretty poor attitude and maybe speaks to the entitlement complex rampant in society these days.
  25. League leader in points, dishing apples like an orchard, skating hard, making hits, playing with the top line, complimenting his teammates... Yeah, this thread has sure aged well.
