I'm not sure if he's ever had teflon. I think his name power more than anything is why he's made it as far as he had. Just another charismatic leader with illusions of grandeur who really doesn't give a rip about anyone but his ego. His past has come back to haunt him and his reputation won't ever be the same. That said, I have no idea what's going to happen on Oct. 21st. I feel like the voting public is being put in front of bags of old grass clippings and dead leaves... The only difference is the colour of the bag. Great hair, though. Even against a darker, albeit artificial, skin tone. I'll admit one thing: the memes have been absolutely awesome.

Compared to the genocidal maniac who systematically slaughtered millions decades earlier...? And I didn't say you're dumb; I said your question was dumb. Reading comprehension and history are evidently not your strong suits, eh.
-
That's debatable. I know you have an ongoing hate for Demski, so having said debate would be pointless.
-
Solid rebuttal, as per usual. Nary an intelligent comment in sight. Speaking of education, throwing around idiotic buzzwords like fake news and propaganda really speaks to how well you're educated. How about make a valid point for a change? Although, I'm probably setting the bar too high for someone who calls others "lib lovers" and "SJWs" when he can't come up with a rational or valid counterpoint whatsoever. How old are you, anyway?

Way to miss the point. Your previous comment re: Holodomor was way off, so you respond to being corrected by posing a question, deflecting from you mistake. Makes sense... I can see history is your strong suit. But sure, I'll answer your dumb question: Mikhail Gorbachev. Keep digging that hole, though. It's entertaining.
-
First of all, Holodomor took place in the early 1930s. And it was a calculated move carried out by the Soviet Union under Stalin to combat an attempted independence movement in Ukraine at the time. It had far less do with communism itself and much more to do with Joseph Stalin being a power hungry, genocidal, totalitarian ideologue. I highly doubt the ancestors of those affected would feel inclined to split hairs over political ideology when it comes to discussing that genocide.

Aaaand here we go. Hook, line, and blue sinker. Sure doesn't take much to get under your skin, eh? It's a joke, not a ****. Don't take it so hard. Hilarious when you assume the political stripe of someone you don't know, BTW.
-
Kinda like how Trudeau is the boogeyman to all the conservative supporters...? It's no different. Well, except for the fact Harper the Boogeyman hides in the closet, not under one's bed.
-
The Jets could use a veteran RD, IMO, even if Byfuglien were to stick around. Dan Girardi comes to mind.
-
Maybe he's on to something.

What a trash comment. Here's an idea: next time you want to share your lame opinions and **** all over a 21-year old who's already more accomplished than you have at whatever age you are, do yourself and the rest of us a favour and don't.
-
You mean politicians are, for the most part, hypocrites...? Man, what a revelation. And if you think this hypocrisy only afflicts progressives, you're either being ignorant or blind - or both (your stupid quote in your signature makes me lean heavily towards both). Political figures of pretty much every stripe pull this kind of crap all too often. And I'd argue it's a factor in why so many people choose not to vote these days and are to the point of disgust watching the political landscape devolve into such a pathetic ****-show.

Byfuglien contemplating NHL future
blue_gold_84 replied to captaincanuck12's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
I think this is a great idea. Another key piece of that young core getting a letter could work in this team's favour. Morrissey looks to have all the intangibles needed for a leadership role. Wheeler as the captain with Scheifele and Morrissey as alternates is something I'd support for sure. Hell, I'd even say give him an A even if Byfuglien comes back. Two leaders up front, two leaders on the back end. -
Byfuglien contemplating NHL future

Regardless of how fans reacted when Little's extension was signed, you can't dump on Cheveldayoff for making that move and then use the Stastny acquisition to justify said criticism. That trade, which happened months after Little's extension, surprised the entire hockey world. There was nothing to suggest back in the fall of 2017 that Stastny would become available at the TDL later that season. Moreover, the Jets tried to keep Stastny by moving salary in the 2018 off-season. If memory serves me correctly, he was offered a two-year deal worth around $6M per year. He opted to sign with the Knights who gave him an extra year and slightly more money. I didn't necessarily agree with the Little extension at the time, but I can understand why it happened when it did. I just don't see a logical correlation between that and "losing" Stastny. And I agree: Little appears to have lost a step and it's a problem for this team going forward. -

You make these assertions with the use of hindsight and nothing more. That's some Goalie-level absurdity, man. -
Has a CFL team ever won a championship without at least one 1,000+ yard receiver? Just a curiosity.

Byfuglien contemplating NHL future

https://www.tsn.ca/has-laine-been-unfairly-deployed-by-the-jets-1.1367609 Good read with some advanced stats from Yost. Is deployment an issue? There seems to be a valid argument for it. Except that isn't what happened. Little re-signed in Sep. 2017, well before Stastny was ever even remotely an option for this team. That extension, however, kicked in last season. And Stastny isn't worth $8M. The money the Knights offered wasn't too far off what the Jets did. Term was the sticking point, IIRC. -
Byfuglien contemplating NHL future

No, he has one championship. 2010 with the Blackhawks. He's been with this organization since. And I don't even understand the second part. He doesn't get a shot at what if not for the youngsters...? Yes, not making this one change up front is the reason why Byfuglien is taking personal leave. Not his injury history, not his life after hockey, not his age, and not his interests/hobbies/enjoyment of life outside of the game... This is clearly all Paul Maurice's fault by not making a line change to the forward group that a defenseman is contemplating his future in the NHL. -
If the Jets want another middle-of-the-pack LD, they can just re-sign Morrow.
-
Yeah, and got swept. Is that supposed to be consolation? What worked five years ago is pretty irrelevant today.
-
While that can be true, it can also do the opposite. My main concern is the fact the blue line has already taken a beating, so losing #33 would be another massive blow. This team can ill afford another loss on the back end.

https://deadspin.com/the-jets-nightmare-offseason-keeps-getting-worse-1838212585 Pretty much nailed it. Is it bad how apathetic I'm feeling about this team at present...?
-
I mean, he is 34 and has dealt with his share of injury woes recently. I'm sure his quality of life after hockey matters to him, especially when you consider how much he loves the outdoors. I just hate how much drama is surrounding this team right now. Laine holding out. Connor holding out. Now this.

New Mosiac Stadium: Artificial Crowd Noise

More like **** the Roughriders organization for letting A&W use them as a pawn to promote a highly processed product nobody needs. -
Well, this kinda blows.
