Game 76 : Texas In My Rear View Mirror
blue_gold_84 replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
It sure looks that way. And with Dallas being a potential first round opponent, the Jets' PK could be their demise in that series. You rarely get far in the playoffs with a lousy PK. It's just so frustrating to see this team play so well in one game and then so poorly the next. It just doesn't make sense. They mopped the floor with the Preds and then get their asses handed to them two days later... Sure, the Stars are playing desperate hockey but there's no reason why the Jets can't match that. -

Another bewildering loss last night. This ******* team... -
Oh, for cryin' out loud... This isn't even the right thread for such a post. Go post it in the appropriate place or better yet, save the conspiracy theorist baloney for another forum. Try and stay on topic.

Game 76 : Texas In My Rear View Mirror

C'mon, man... He still made 5 hits in those two games and 3 SOG, which was consistent with this previous 10 games. He was forced to play with a different centre but that by no means suggests he dogged it. He'll be due a raise in the off-season but it's not going to be something exorbitant. -

What a beauty. Has he ever taken off a shift? Tanev is a buzz-saw. -
Mmm, that's some tasty whataboutism. Very Russian of you.

It's clear Poile was grasping at straws by adding the likes of Boyle and Simmonds prior to the deadline. -

His production has actually been better this season than during his brief stint last season here. His GPG average is very marginally improved but his APG and PPG is considerably better. -

Still looks better than the Pacioretty re-up, IMO. Stastny has been pretty good in Vegas this season. -

Keep in mind that's based on the current season's cap. The salary cap for 2019-20 should be around $83M. Even with that projected increase, they're in a tough spot. Karlsson is going to want a handsome raise, and he's got arbitration rights. -
I meant to post this the other day but forgot. My apologies. https://cabinradio.ca/14118/news/environment/for-first-time-since-records-began-nwt-hits-20c-in-march/

Take away those 20 games and 5 points (2G, 3A), and his averages become .42 GPG, .36 APG, and .78 PPG. What's to be accomplished by cherry-picking stats, though? I'm not sure what you're asking. And what's the relevance of +/- as far as averages go?

This season, from 2018/12/13 to 2019/01/14, Connor played 10 games, compiling 198 shifts for an average TOI of 19:34, didn't register a point and was a -8. That's pretty significant and statistically the worst stretch of his career. By comparison, Ehler's longest pointless drought is 11 games with a -2 (2015/12/05 to 2015/12/31) and Laine's longest pointless drought is 7 games with a -1 (2018/03/20 to 2018/04/02). I know +/- doesn't account for much; it's merely there for reference. As for breaking down the consistency of the three wingers in question, such a comparison warrants actual research, not useless conjecture based ostensibly on nothing more than bias or ignorance. Through 171 GP, Connor has averaged .38 GPG, .34 APG, and .72 PPG. (https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/c/connoky01.html) Through 291 GP, Ehlers has averaged .30 GPG, .37 APG, and .68 PPG. (https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/e/ehlerni01.html) Through 230 GP, Laine has averaged .47 GPG, .32 APG, and .80 PPG. (https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/l/lainepa01.html) Even with his struggles this season, Laine is still the most consistent winger of the three. The fact remains: all three are immensely talented young players who make the Jets' top 6 very effective in their own unique ways.

Maaaaaan, **** TSN. That Connor goal last night is up there for goal of the year, IMO. I mean, seriously... Just look at that filth. Anyway, those are the top two lines Maurice needs to run from here on out. An absolutely lethal top 6 that should do some serious damage this spring. -
It's official!

I have to wonder where this team would be without Fleury. I'm also pretty intrigued with how McPhee handles his roster going into next season. Fleury, Stone, Pacioretty, and Tuch are all getting raises; Bellemare, Pirri, and Engelland are all pending UFAs; Karlsson, Nosek, and Subban are all RFAs with arbitration rights in need of new contracts. Without factoring in those last three, their cap is already projected to be over $82M. That's not exactly a flattering situation for a GM. -

https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/thesaurus/progressive It isn't misleading and has literally nothing to do with anyone's opinion. They are synonymous terms, with the word progressive having its origins from the Latin word progredi, which literally translates to advance or forward.

Agreed... Took 'em long enough. But haven't we heard this before? -
If anything, calling someone progressive and forward-thinking is a bit of a redundancy. They're synonymous terms for the most part. In other words, they're the exact opposite of an oxymoron. Someone may want to consult a dictionary and/or a thesaurus before commenting next time.

Or he's simply just a lousy QB at the professional level... Hence his failures as a professional QB in the two highest professional leagues. The extra man on the field has nothing to do with it, Johnny. Good riddance. -
Do you think he'll serve a bunch of congealed hamberders?
