  1. The issue for me is why the Jets would go after a winger and not another centre. If the Preds and the Jets are trying to get Duchene, the losing team would logically target another centre, not a winger. The tweet just doesn't make sense. I agree on the pretenders part... Lately, the Jets are playing like they're not only allergic to winning, but allergic to their brand of hockey. It's beyond frustrating.
  2. Ridiculous statement. Unless you've got the inside track on Nichols' conditioning and training this off-season. Weird how nobody else has mentioned anything like what you've said, though. https://www.cfl.ca/2019/01/18/no-off-season-matt-nichols-keeping-busy-ahead-2019/
  3. Oh, his comments are way over the top.
  4. Where to even begin with such a silly tweet...
  5. https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/pco-clerk-fears-somebody-s-going-to-be-shot-during-coming-election-campaign-1.4306828 Yikes... Those are some pretty serious words.
  6. Oh, boy. This meltdown is comedy gold.
  7. Nice piece for the Caps. And it cost practically nothing.
  8. Crazy. All the more reason to pay inside at the till.
  9. But he's done it before... Maybe the players need to do a better job moving their feet. The Jets are fast team when they actually skate.
  10. https://www.cbc.ca/news/entertainment/empire-actor-jussie-smollett-turns-himself-into-police-1.5027627 Tough times ahead for this putz.
  11. Well, at least you're self-aware... if nothing else. Awesome word diarrhea. That should take Big Brother for a loop, eh.
  12. Glad I stopped watching this game. What an absolute pile of turds. Something seriously stinks in Jetsland right now. And it needs to be addressed immediately.
  13. Really... Try harder. These repetitious, unoriginal, moronic replies are absolutely pathetic, maralagobomberfan.
  14. Allowed to read...? No, that's not it. It's more of a matter of not wasting one's time reading garbage. Hence the purpose of vetting sources before recklessly posting them. And I mean, sure... If you want to ignore how Media Bias/Fact Check analyzes all media sources on the entire spectrum from left (https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/left/) to right (https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/right/), fill your boots and make baseless, deflectionary accusations. I'd suggest instead, though, to spare us all from that and the other useless, defensive, whiny nonsense* and read up on this website: https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/about/ Here's how MB/FC operates: https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/methodology/ Here's the code of principles by which it operates: https://ifcncodeofprinciples.poynter.org/ (https://www.poynter.org/mission-vision/) I'd really like to know how one can claim and substantiate MB/FC is an "alt-left rating" website when reality flies in the face of that claim. To say nothing of posting links from sources that have proven to be horribly biased and disingenuous. The best part: you can use this same website to vet sources posted by others. * the repeated use of "alt-left" and "1984" is actually absurd and bordering on delusional
  15. Just an update... CBM is truly the best beer store in town. I was there the week before last and got carried away. The selection is overwhelming. Anyway, I've been here before but I'm in Yellowknife this week for work. I know it's way, way off the beaten path for most but if you're ever up here, NWT Brewing Co. is a must visit for any beer lover. Located on the edge of Old Town (roughly a ten-minute walk from downtown), it consists of the brewery and a brewpub called The Woodyard (excellent pub grub in a very rustic, location-specific setting). Their core brews consist of four offerings (a cream ale, a pale ale, a brown ale, and an IPA). They also offer several more on a rotational basis (12 taps in total in the taproom). I had a nitro porter and a seasonal IPA the other night and both were quite good. Yesterday, I had a raspberry wit which was surprisingly tasty and an ESB with Earl Grey infused in it which was absolutely delicious. There's also a growler bar and a merch counter. I really can't say enough about this place.
  16. By no means a must-win but a better effort would be nice. Do the Jets ever play well in Denver? I'm all for Laine getting a goal or three, though.
  17. That was the speculation on TEP yesterday. Now to figure out what changed (money, term, both)...
  18. What an echo chamber. I listed the reasons you lost it, BTW. In that very post you quoted. And to be clear, nobody here is doing anything now or will be in 2020. Unless anyone here has US citizenship and can actually vote. It is literally nothing more than a discussion on a forum. That being said, maralagobomberfan, you should try not to get so worked up over this. Because again - it's literally nothing more than a discussion on a forum.
  19. Pretty friendly contract at $1M, pending UFA.
  20. Your sodium level lately has been very enjoyable. But nobody from the rectangle province ever gets to chirp another fanbase. And here's why: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/saving-the-roughriders-throwback-thursday-from-cbc-news-archives-1.2992032
  21. You're right. I should've clarified in the first place. We're far better off when speaking in relative terms. I just meant watching what's happening in Ottawa lately is hardly reassuring looking ahead to the upcoming federal election. Indifference is a shitty feeling, especially when it comes to voting.
  22. It all started to go sideways yesterday with the whining about being attacked, blathering about Big Brother, posting a story from Bulgarian Breitbart, and claiming to be a moderate, rational voice in this thread.
  23. Man, I could not agree more. The political landscape is a turd-pile right now. Just a bunch of self-interested clowns who couldn't care less about Canadians. While it's fun to point and laugh at the mess in DC right now, the sad reality is Ottawa isn't any better. I can't even imagine what goes on behind closed doors these days. I'm at the point where I don't even want to vote later this year. It's like being stuck between choosing one bag of garbage over another; the only difference is the colour of the bag.
