Brossoit's best pro game ever...? Man, he was unreal last night. Loved when the boos rained down when Stastny's name got announced. Great game last night. Felt like the playoffs.

And the fun continues for Jamie Benn: This is the kind of thing that could derail a season for a team. -

It just seems a bit asinine and reckless when there are more important issues to deal with domestically. -

Game 45 : Lovely Weather for Ducks

Certainly up there. Fortunately, #37 shut the door after that and didn't look back. I wonder when we finally see a complete 60-min. game from this Jets team. -

IIRC, didn't both Hughes and Gainey tweet last season about how boring Regina is? -
2019 free agency hasn't even started yet. Getting Bighill locked up here is absolutely, unequivocally more crucial right now than a soon-to-be sophomore QB who has a year remaining on his contract. That's not even up for debate at this moment in time.

I'm not saying bench him or trade him. It isn't about patience; I'm saying he stinks this season - because he does. Thankfully, he isn't costing the team. I'd just like to see him rediscover what made him successful last November and in his first two NHL seasons. It absolutely bites watching him struggle.

Since when is Gord Miller anything but a play-by-play commentator? Why would any team divulge such information to him? Sounds like deflectionary fodder to me. Spoken like a self-proclaimed expert. And an ignorant one, at that. Stastny's stats with the Jets (regular season and playoffs): regular season: 19GP, 4G (4EV), 9A (5EV, 4PP), +4 playoffs: 17GP, 6G (5EV, 1PP), 9A (5EV, 4PP), +5 Saying Stastny "didn't do lots" at even strength is utterly comical. He did more 5v5 than in any other situation. -
Playoffs are a different animal. That'd even if the Wild make it. The thing for me is they don't seem any different than last season and the Jets dominated them 7-2 in regular season and post-season play. As much as it's easy to dump on the goalie for a loss, the team in front of him was awful last night through the first 30-35 minutes. They let their opponent dictate the pace, their forecheck was lousy, they didn't skate (again), and their defensive zone play was spotty and lazy. It was basically a repeat of the Dec. 29th game vs. the Wild here in Winnipeg. And there were seemingly no adjustments made to the gameplan whatsoever. Laine stinks this season. He had a blazing hot November but the rest of his 2018-19 campaign has been pedestrian at best. Even that seems like a compliment.

The Jets blow against this team this season.

Speaking of which... This sure didn't age well. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/video/2019/jan/10/if-there-is-a-concrete-wall-in-front-of-you-go-through-it-says-trump-in-2004-speech-video

This particular law with DUIs is at the federal level, though. Canning the city's police chief wouldn't solve or change anything. This waste of resources is happening across the entire country. I'm all for improving the state of local law enforcement but I think this has to be addressed at the national level for it to improve. Well, that's a bit of an oversimplification. Recruits are also required to take rigorous training and pass said training before actually being given a badge. I don't think a post-secondary education would make a difference. I do agree on the OT being overly exorbitant, though. It's not at all a sustainable system.

No. Vegas gets the NHL Awards every single year. -
It seems to cast a much wider net than that based on the article. And it could be a very slippery slope.

It's not as simple as just saying get him a better centreman. Outside of November, he's having a lousy season and is not playing well. That's on him, not his linemates.

Not sure how I missed this unfortunate development: https://tvline.com/2019/01/04/vikings-cancelled-final-season-6-ending-history/ It looks like viewership is down this season, so they'll wrap the series after next season (season 6). Great series but I guess it, like any other, has a shelf life. Although information is limited at this point, it sounds like a spin-off is being planned.
