  1. The bolded part times a million. Jones pulled a slimer on Muamba and now the latter will likely have to take a pay cut in order to continue his CFL career. Total ****** move by Jones but it's how he operates, so nobody's surprised. As for Muamba, he's weighing his options and that's totally his prerogative. There's no tour, though, and certainly nothing of the sort similar to what happened back in 2015. Muamba had a solid 2017 season and was particularly impactful later in the season and into the playoffs. He's a highly prized NAT free agent who will command big money wherever he ends up. I'm just hopeful the Bombers are that team and can afford him, as he would immediately upgrade the defense at such a crucial position, while providing ratio flexibility.
  2. They can't focus on two priorities at once...?
  3. "Mason wasn't tested. 25 shots came from the point." Present your evidence to substantiate your claims. Or just accept the fact you're wrong and give it a rest.
  4. Three back surgeries are not insignificant and while he did recover from his Hodgkin's lymphoma in 1993, he dealt with issues after that related to the radiation treatment he received. http://www.espn.com/nhl/news/story?id=2304706 Health/injury issues plagued him for a considerable part of his career. I don't think it's unreasonable to say they played a role in his decision to retire in 1997. That's all I was trying to explain.
  5. His first retirement in 1997 was due to health/injury issues. His second and final retirement in 2006 was when he admitted he couldn't keep pace with the "newer" and faster NHL (hard to blame the guy at 40 years old) and chose to hang up his skates for his good. He had also been struggling an irregular heartbeat caused by arterial fibrillation.
  6. Jee-zus... Mason just can't catch a break.
  7. Did you even watch the game? I agree with you on Mason getting another start but this claim he wasn't tested the other night vs. the Rangers is absolutely ridiculous.
  8. Maybe it'll mean a revival of the Nordiques sooner than later...?
  9. No way he takes Elimimian's job at MLB. And I can't see him playing WIL.
  10. http://3downnation.com/2018/03/07/bombers-aware-euclid-cummings-investigation-2016-informed-cfl/ Boy, I'll say... WTF?
  11. The league has voided his contract in light of criminal charges laid: https://www.cfl.ca/2018/03/07/cfl-releases-statement-status-euclid-cummings/
  12. More quality stats on the Finnisher.
  13. Seems like a pretty big what if... Especially when you consider Hurl's career thus far. Jones is a great defensive mind but Hurl's ceiling has been well-established. I don't think there's significantly more to be extracted from his skill set, if anything at all.
  14. Yeah, facing 31 shots in a shutout against a team that scored 12 goals in its previous three games sure isn't getting tested at all.
  15. Great game for Mason tonight. Getting the shutout is a nice feather in the cap.
  16. Laine with a ripper to open the scoring late in the opening frame! He has tied his goal total from last season. And has 16 games and two periods more to add to it.
  17. Oh, without a doubt. His passport is sure a quality feature.
  18. I'd hate to see him get released and hope it doesn't come to that in order to sign Muamba. I still didn't expect him to be making as much as Dunk said, though. What I'd like to know is where is all the money that was supposedly ear-marked for Westerman...?
  19. What an ugly sequence... Laine blows a tire and takes a stick to the ribs, and then Wheeler and Scheifele collide. Blegh.
  20. I believe that was one of the league's concerns back then: viability long-term in Saskatoon. That was why the BoG back then voted 15-3 in favour of not relocating the Blues. I can't say I've ever understood the notion of some anti-Canada agenda by the NHL.
