  1. It's contingent on him shaking whatever demons he's had recently, though. It isn't like the Ti-Cats in 2016 or 2017 were rosters devoid of talent on offense. He simply struggled to execute and that's on him and him alone.
  2. Besides Hall, what other "deadwood coach" has the team held onto since Walters and O'Shea took the reigns? Pat DelMonaco. And IIRC, Hall has been one of Hurl's proponents since the two were in Riderville. Hall should be well aware how poor a MLB Hurl is.
  3. Yeah, now the Riders are going to "run the table" on the league. Uh, that's incorrect. As of the 2016 Census, Quebec City's population is approx. 532,000; the Halifax Regional Municipality's population is approx. 403,000 (the urban area having a population around 317,000); and Saskatoon's population is approx. 246,000.
  4. They give up a ton of quality chances. I don't get it.
  5. Eh, not so much in Denver. The Jets always seem to struggle there. Fortunately 8 of the last 11 games there have resulted in at least a point. Now the Jets get to face them twice more in the friendly confines of BellMTS Place, which is where the home team really shines.
  6. Slovakia holds its own against a pretty stout Swedish team, but come up short late. Very entertaining game.
  7. But... Riderville. Canada's Team. Flatbillies.
  8. He's played one game vs. the Central this season and made 28 saves while posting a .933SV%, so what are you talking about? (https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/m/masonst01/gamelog/2018) I agree with you on Hellebuyck absolutely dominating the Central, though. Not just this season but last season, too.
  9. And the Czech Republic gets the upset and Finland is out. Honourable mention to Jets prospect Vesalainen on an absolutely sick shootout goal.
  10. It's all about making Murica great again. Seriously, though... It's insane how much these CEOs make and then even more insane when compared to the average joe.
  11. A knightly scrap heap! It just seems like a perfect storm more than anything. Who knows if it'll continue but the Knights have themselves in a great position going into the second half of the season.
  12. Does it really defy logic, though? A proven GM, a proven HC, and some solid talent and depth - all significant advantages compared to previous expansion teams.

  14. Sure, but it's a strange one. Money speaks louder when it comes to signing talent, anyway.
  15. Good news, even though I've liked the way Poolman has been playing lately. The Avs have been pretty good through their last 10 (6-3-1) are riding a two-game win streak. Hopefully, the Jets can serve 'em up a nice L in Denver tomorrow.
  16. It's New Year's Day, so I perused through some threads. It seemed worthwhile to point out the fact Hall was hired well before Westerman was signed, despite whatever speculative narrative you want to run with here. There's no need to get defensive. It's a new year.
  17. Hall was hired on Jan. 20th and Westerman was signed May 7th - in 2015. And who have the Bombers "let" walk so far...? Free agency isn't for another month and a half.
  18. Perfect performance on the road. Jets dominated all aspects tonight. And Hellebuyck pitches his 9th career shutout. Top of the Central, 2nd in the Western Conference, 3rd in the NHL. Couldn't ask for a better way to close out 2017.
  19. Definitive proof CTE is a real thing.
  20. Team Canada up 2-0 on two PPGs in the opening frame!
  21. When you're too dumb to understand the difference between climate and weather - and you're also POTUS.
  22. This appears to be a very good hiring by the WFC. Here's an article from June regarding Rigmaiden's role with the Lions (Director of US Scouting): http://www.pressreader.com/canada/the-province/20170621/282256665494367
  23. Because scoring in the NHL doesn't come as easily as scoring at will in AHL. Petan is a pretty sound example of that, IMO. Or going further back, Cormier.
  24. Wide Lefty is lucky he got on with 1290. He'd otherwise be ranting and raving on a street corner somewhere downtown. His opinions on hockey are laughable. Byfuglien at forward has never worked for the Jets... But sure, let's revisit that dumb idea. The loss of Scheifele is significant; you don't replace an elite centre and top-5 point getter. It'll mean shuffling lines and experimenting, so that could be challenging in the short-term . IMO, Wheeler at 1C is more than workable, though.
