  1. Good news re: Mason. Bad news re: Connor. I was sort of hoping Laine would get bumped to the top line and Perreault to the second, but the second line had some nice chemistry in the final frame on Friday vs. VGK.
  2. New menu at Marion Street Eatery but they kept their classics like the steak bites and the stuffed meatloaf. Great spot!
  3. First in the Central, first in the West. Bloody marvelous!
  4. And another apple for Laine as Ehlers gets the wraparound! Huge response by the boys in the final frame*. Boy, did they need it. *except for that last sequence where Haula just walked in and scored... Yeesh.
  5. Back to back PPGs for the Jets! Connor with a sick feed from Laine and Laine with a rocket* from above the circle. *deflected of an opponent's blade
  6. VGK had a PPG disallowed after a coach's challenge for offside. Worked out well for the Jets, too.
  7. Thank Jeebus for Hendricks. What a beauty!
  8. Another great start and then a bed-shitting. What gives?
  9. Just because nothing has been reported yet doesn't mean the organization is doing nothing. Good gravy... The season just ended five days ago. Rein in the chicken little bullshit.
  10. Definitely. Even more so when you get upgraded for free.
  11. Maybe you resembled her brother...? Seriously, though, the floodgates have sure been blow open since Weinstein's disgusting behaviour came to light.
  12. Well, that's what I was essentially going for. After O'Shea, who's next, Doug Berry? But I was also trying to point out that a seasoned coach doesn't become seasoned without experience, and failure is usually a part of that recipe.
  13. According to flattards, Antarctica is supposedly the edge of their world, with an insurmountable wall made of ice at the edge. I honestly have no idea how any human being with even a basic understanding of science could rationalize such silliness.
  14. The Jets have a back-to-back coming up, so that's why I see him getting another start. My guess would be in SJ on Saturday night. Maurice on why he chose to start Mason tonight:
  15. Good chance he'll play twice in Cali, then.
  16. Dammit, that's what I meant. I really gotta learn to proofread my longer posts. And you should be proud of that history. It's pretty damned marvelous. It'd be awesome to see the organization do something grand for its 150th. It's just around the corner!
  17. The "atmosflat"....
  18. If the Jets play clean, they should be alright on this Cali road trip. Discipline is what did them in vs. Nashville, so eliminating the lame penalties should help.
  19. No question the Canadian Prairies are the heart of the league. Rain or shine, blistering heat or frigid cold, we love our football here. Vancouver seemed to love the Lions until recently. I don't know what happened with attendance at Lions games. Although, attendance with the Canucks has struggled lately, too. So, maybe there's a larger issue at play, such as the insanely high cost of living there. Hamilton and Ottawa seem to be passionate about their respective teams, which is great to see. Both also get a lot of love from their local media, too. In the case of Ottawa, I'm glad to see how well things have gone there. A CFL without the nation's capital just isn't right, IMO. Montreal also seems to have a fair share of passionate fans and solid media coverage, but attendance has understandably dwindled recently due to the team's on-field struggles. Toronto is seemingly in a category all its own, though. The fact that media members there go out of their way to trash the league - and apparently enjoy doing so - is really shitty to see. Why not embrace the CFL and the Canadian game...? Not to mention support and get behind the oldest and easily one of the most storied football teams on Earth. That should be a source of pride for Torontonians.
  20. I'm the same way. LOL It's all relative, of course. But getting around Toronto is its own crazy beast. Although, I love the expressways and public transit there.
  21. Thank you very much for putting the time and effort into replying. It's great to get a local perspective from someone who's clearly a diehard and has his finger on the pulse of the CFL in The Big Smoke. I think I speak for some, if not most, of us here when I say we don't hate you guys. Diehard fans appreciate diehard fans, especially ones who are knowledgeable and can discuss all teams and the league at large. I think you're spot on regarding the sponsorship aspect, something the CFL must have in order to succeed. And the reality is Toronto is where the bulk of that money lies. It goes without saying success breeds followers, particularly in pro sports. The Argonauts should be a successful organization going forward with Popp and Trestman in charge, IMO. And hopefully, that'll put more fans in the seats in the near future.
  22. Ah, that's right. I forgot the Bombers used the 80s royals again in 2015. I'm still hoping for a snazzy alternate for 2018, anyway!
  23. I understand the challenge of going to a game on a weeknight (the CFL schedule is baffling at times), but for Friday night or weekend games, I'm surprised the attendance figures still remained so low. BMO Field is a really nice venue and it seemed pretty accessible from what I remember last November. Making an evening or day of it to see a live game seems like a no brainer.
  24. I agree. I just don't think management addressed the position adequately at all during the off-season. But they all share in the blame as far as that blunder goes.
