I'm convinced it's the system. I can't honestly believe the personnel on the defense is as bad as it has looked in recent weeks, including today. Randle, Heath, Loffler, Santos-Knox, Wild... These are all talented players capable of making an impact. I have to think the system in which they've played doesn't play to their collective strengths.

Loffler - and the secondary as a whole - seemingly looked better last season when the team had a MLB capable of playing the position. You're only as strong as your weakest link. The MLB position was hands down the weakest link on D in 2017.

That weird decision basically set the tone for the rest of the quarter. The Eskimos used that momentum swing and dominated that 15-min. frame. The third quarter was the difference today, IMO. And I have to think cause and effect plays a role and that shitty ass decision was the catalyst.

I agree on Lankford > Washington, but I don't think the sample size on Givens is large enough yet to make that comparison (only 9 fielded thus far, compared to Lankford's 50). And their average KOR yardage is within 5 yards. Washington seems like a bit of a project, so I wouldn't write him off just yet. However, for the WSF, I'd put Lankford back in over Washington, simply for the versatility he provides.

Fair point. However, his shoulder's seemingly been an issue for some time now. I'm not sure if a suspicion of an ailment is the same as confirmation of one, as we saw with Nichols. I just think had Nichols been able to play, he would have. OTOH, I think Mitchell would've sat regardless of his health.
