So, he'll be declaring war on North Korea sooner rather than later...?

And the von Herzenburger family. Although, maybe they weren't Nazis. -

I'm with you on this one. I wouldn't want to keep something from a shitbag ex, either, much less put it in the closet to needlessly take up space. All that does is serve as a lousy reminder and you don't need that garbage. -

Well, colour me incorrect. And unimpressed by the CFL.ca Staff's basic math skills. -

8-5, actually. (https://www.cfl.ca/2017/10/05/cfl-ca-game-notes-look-week-16-2/) That said, I'm picking the Lions in a tight one. -

Beautiful day for some Friday Night Football! With what's at stake (the chance to clinch and increase the chances to lock up a home playoff game), the team will be good to go. Stick to what's been working and they'll be fine. The leaders have done nothing but step up and tonight will be no exception. Fun fact: the team's 10-3 record is their best through 13 games since 2001 (they were 11-2 through 13 that season). Do it for Fort Hew!

I would say it's more accurate to blame the team's lapses and reverting to old, bad habits for Wednesday's loss than to pin it on a goalie who had little to no help in his Jets' debut. I mean, that's a movie we've all seen before with this team, anyway. As for Ondrej Pavelec, the Rangers signed him as a backup for $1.3M for a single season (low risk, short-term). That's much different than having him on a 5-year, $19.5M contract ($3.9M AAV) and having him as your starter on a team notorious for poor defensive zone play. I still think Maurice should've replaced Huddy and Flaherty. Frankly, I don't get the loyalty to either of them. They are lousy coaches.

Had a helper, was +4, and played 16:32 last night.

Hell, after the first period last night, there were people grumbling about Mason in the concourse. "He's garbage, can't even make a save, what a sieve, I'm an idiot and don't pay attention to the game." (I added that last one) Bottom line: the same issues that cost the Jets two points last night are the very same issues that have plagued them since this franchise relocated to Winnipeg. Changing one player, especially in net, is not going to suddenly turn the tide. Everyone has to step up and start doing their damn job more consistently.

I always find it odd when someone posts a quote but won't bother posting the source. And what's a "dumby"...?

From the Jets' first penalty and ensuing PPG against, the entire team played like dog turds. I don't see how last night's loss gets pinned on one player, especially one who got hung out to dry. It was basically the same old same from the Jets after they fell 1-0. I'd like to see Mason get the start and hopefully see the team rally and play better than they did yesterday.

Jee-zus, that's gotta be some damn fine hooch.

I was thinking the same thing. Harris must be licking his chops at the prospect of going up against a team that's pretty much in next season mode. It'd be nice to see him crack the century mark in both rushing and receiving tomorrow.

Mr. Robot Season III starts on Wednesday. Quality series. Rami Malek is pretty damn talented.

His breakaway last night was ridiculous. He's going to dominate the league this season.

Horrible way to open up the season. At home, no less. Jets started off well and appeared to be in control. Full marks to the Leafs on some solid penalty killing and impressive netminding by Andersen. But as soon as the Leafs got on the board (I don't understand how Kadri just gets left alone in tight), they just fell apart and reverted to the Jets of old. It was an ugly, ugly display: standing around, watching the puck, giving opponents too much space and time... Just hideous. I have to wonder what was going through Maurice's head during first intermission last night, not to mention the rest of the team.
