  1. I just listed three off the top of my head... Locally in the last decade. Three instances in which players didn't "flock to the microphone" to fawn over a dismissed coach. Kelly was a player's coach...? Yeah, it sure looked that way in his lone season here. Oh, wait...
  2. Saw Dunkirk again last night. It's almost better the second time (pick up on some nuances and it's easier to piece together the interconnected timeframes). Oh, and the trailer for Blade Runner 2049... Holay molay.
  3. Huh... I don't remember that when Kelly was canned. I don't remember that when Burke was canned, either. I also can't say I recall that happening when Noel was canned (just to bring up other sports). Crappy head coaches don't get fake love from their players, especially the ones who have no trouble dumping on their players.
  4. It'll be key to get a solid pass rush going and put the pressure on Durant early on tonight - he's less effective when he's off his game. Offensively, Harris needs more touches on the ground to establish a balanced attack and open things up a bit. Nichols has to be better and more sure of himself, too. I expect ST will be good tonight and I'm hopeful Fogg will get in on punt returns. Expect a big bounce-back game from Medlock. Basically, copy what was done in week 4 vs. the Argonauts and I think our boys will be golden.
  5. I'd take Buono here in an advisory/consultant type role in a heartbeat, though. Both for O'Shea's and Walter's sake.
  6. And Wild. And Johnson. I still can't believe this is a thread. It isn't like the team is 0-4 or has been blown out yet (maybe that second half vs. the Stampeders but that's a stretch). They lost a close one on Friday and should hopefully learn from the mistakes made. The sky isn't falling.
  7. Exactly why I used the word "perhaps" in my post. Dressler is a top receiving talent in the CFL and there's no argument against that. And agreed, blue and gold looks great on him.
  8. 4 games into the season sitting at .500, and this is a thread...? Good gravy.
  9. He also knows how to adapt and not be a stubborn old plug set in his ways. Of course you wouldn't mention that, though. Micro-managing doesn't work. Miller has his own job to do, anyway. Furthermore, the fact you'd even compare O'Shea and Buono on the same terms is just baffling.
  10. I think it's more so a question of coordinators overthinking things, particularly on offense.
  11. Since his debut in 2013, here are his stats vs. WPG: 10/14/2013 - week 16: 5 CAR, 35 yards, 1 TD (20 LG) **L** 08/22/2014 - week 9: 1 CAR, 6 yards / 3 REC, 90 yards (71 LG) **L** 07/10/2015 - week 3: 14 CAR, 74 yards, 2 TD (19 LG) / 2 REC, 6 yards (7 LG) [1 REC must've been for a loss] **L** 09/20/2015 - week 13: 12 CAR, 49 yards (17 LG) **W** 08/26/2016 - week 10: 10 CAR, 33 yards (11 LG) / 7 REC, 65 yards (16 LG) **L** I'd say you're correct in that he's had considerable success and managed some high yardage plays. Fortunately, the Bombers have won 4/5 of those games.
  12. Weston Dressler, while perhaps past his prime, is an elite receiver in this league. How's that even in question?
  13. I'd be willing to be co-master taster. I think the optimal method for such a venture would be to incorporate more amenities. Look at what Falcon Trails or Tall Pines do to see what I mean. Build some nice cabins/chalets and a big lodge as an aside from the beer tasting/brewery tour stuff and that'd be a sure-fire way to attract clientele year-round (or at least more consistently in the colder months). Offer hiking/walking tours to show clients where you get the ingredients, add in food pairing events to go with tastings depending on the time of year (seasonal pairings FTW), and provide a full experience dedicated to the Whiteshell. Ugh, now I want to win the lottery... LOL
  14. Oh, please... What free agents are you upset about the Bombers not getting? And if Arceneaux is the only one you can mention, you may as well just drop out of the discussion.
  15. I could totally be the brew name maker and master taster. Maybe even get into labelling each brew, too.
  16. I had a similar conversation a while back with a friend regarding the craft beer scene here lately. It's so good to see. Whiteshell Brewing Co. has a pretty nice ring to it. A Seven Sisters Saison, perhaps...?
  17. This is simply not accurate, which is saying a lot compared to the rest of your post. A losing culture and constant turnover of regimes are why the team's been unable to establish a consistent winner and attract the best players. You clearly haven't paid attention recently if you think it's been hard for the Bombers to retain the talent they've managed to attract the last few years.
  18. A moronic and short-sighted decision made by a former regime that didn't have a clue what it was doing doesn't prove anything.
  19. Yeah, I got stuck with those. Fingers crossed it's a nice day on the 19th... Worst case Ontario is it's a refund and I drink beer elsewhere.
  20. It was just more of a general observation of the entire season to this point. He's averaging under 12 touches per game on the ground, so I think that could be increased. I wonder if there would've been more success later in the game had the run game been established earlier on, though.
  21. It's one thing for overzealous fans to act like they know better and resort to knee-jerk reactions. It's an entirely different animal when individuals in the organization itself resort to the latter - especially without valid rationale.
  22. Anyone attending the Beer Festival next month at Fort Gibraltar?
  23. LaPolice needs to learn to call a balanced game. With the O-line and the RB he has at his disposal, it's mystifying how little the run game has been utilized thus far.
