  1. Hey, I'm not the one over-valuing my team. So, spare me the passive aggressive nonsense. And regarding the bye week reasoning, that was the first time the week 1 bye team won its opening game since a 9th franchise was added in 2014. Considering that and the fact the Bombers were playing in hostile territory against a team with a game already under its belt, I'll gladly take that close victory. Division opponent, bitter rival, on the road. Two points are two points. I have no idea how anyone could be happy with a 1-2 record, not to mention that putrid .286 win percentage since Jones took the helm. Or how the guy operates. He can't even lose with class.
  2. If anything, your team choked away four points. And two at home to open their new home, no less. To a team coming off a week 1 bye. Doesn't it get hard constantly deflecting...?
  3. That's a big contract to unload ($500K this season alone, IIRC). I think Collaros is not the same QB he was 2-3 years ago. He seems to have lost his cool and collected demeanour.
  4. HOW kinda went off the rails (pardon the pun) a bit as the show wound down. I still loved the series, though, and it's too bad it ended as seemingly abruptly as it did. I'm looking forward to picking up on The Son this weekend. The end of the premiere episode just blew me away.
  5. How could the Ti-Cats even afford that?
  6. "I don't care."
  7. http://www.tmz.com/2017/07/20/linkin-park-singer-chester-bennington-dead-commits-suicide/ Dammitall... RIP.
  8. Eh... That's what the IIHF WJHC is for.
  9. Yeah, I'm not a fan of this at all. The Olympics just won't be the same without the world's best hockey players.
  10. Well said. I thought it was a solid first episode. It didn't give a lot away but it still moved the story along and helped set a tone. That part with Mormont was pretty wild! PS - the hidden content feature is awesome! Anyway, another show I just started is The Son (premiered on AMC back in April and season 1 has already concluded). I've only finished the first episode but I am hooked. Really, really good if you're into western-type shows in the same vein as Hell On Wheels, IMO. Kinda reminds me a bit of Red Dead Redemption, too... Even though that's a video game.
  11. That was him doing his "Kevin Glenn in Week 2" impression. From a business standpoint, it made sense. That's about it, though. The Riders are still 1-2.
  12. Austin has a sense of humour, apparently. And a soul.
  13. Actually, what's sensitive is telling a coach to win with class... And then a season later whining to the media about an opponent spying on your team's practice.
  14. Well, who cares about closed practices, much less who did it first...? At least Dickenson doesn't whine about other teams spying on his practices. I was waiting for the resident green whiner to show up to defend and deflect from his precious coach.
  15. Chris Jones is a turd. The hubris of that man is immeasurable. Kent Austin hit the nail on the head with regard to Jones' whining.
  16. Wasn't at all referring to the WHA franchise... The former IHL/AHL franchise that operated from 1994-2013 is the second link that comes up whenever you Google "Houston Aeros," BTW. Anyway, with all the hubbub regarding the reported sale of the Hurricanes, here's a pretty scathing development regarding the franchise's ongoing attendance issues: http://www.tsn.ca/report-hurricanes-attendance-down-32-per-cent-over-10-years-1.808287
  17. Which is too bad. There's a proper NHL-sized arena there, one the Aeros called home for a decade.
  18. From the article: Here's hoping Knuckles is back in his familiar spot on CJOB next week. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
  19. Agreed. Very unbalanced on offense in terms of where the talent is spread around. And FWIW, I'd have taken a prima donna like Burris here over Pierce, Elliott, Brink, Goltz, Hall, Boltus, Brohm, et al. 8 days a week.
  20. 110% agree with you on all of that.
  21. How is the CFL's all-time receiving yards leader "overrated"...? There's no way he isn't in the same conversation as Stegall or Pitts.
  22. You have got to be kidding. Granted, one player alone typically doesn't win a football game, but Dressler has been on fire so far this season. 6th in the league in receiving yards and still a game less played than anyone ahead of him. You may want to look beyond just the receivers, BTW. There's more involved in an offense than just them and the Bombers' offense has been pretty streaky so far, including the QB and the play-calling. I don't think another deep threat is a necessity right now. I just think there are wrinkles the offense is still trying to iron out. It's only been three games.
  23. Bingo. "What have you done for me lately?" 2015 is a long time ago in pro sports, especially when a player is on the tail end of his career.
  24. True. But they seem more competent and better trained. The addition of the "eye in the sky" seems to have only muddied the waters with regard to officiating in the CFL.
