  1. I really don't see the logic behind saying Cummings and Nevis are a wash. We haven't seen the latter play yet.
  2. I think it would've been tough for him to crack any lineup being traded as late in the season as he was.
  3. Well, it's helped he's been in the league for the better part of two decades... Let's look at what Gurley said: Nothing nefarious at all. He expected A and what happened was B, whatever the circumstances were. Gurley didn't say anything wrong and that title is just pathetic clickbait. Tim Baines is being an idiot, trying to create drama where there is none. EDIT: Although, I find it kinda silly to say he should've been there (as in with Ottawa). Of course he'd say that in retrospect now that the RedBlacks are the defending champions. LOL
  4. Re-signing to the practice squad...? It'd be great to get him back, though.
  5. I'd have to go with the former. It isn't like the O-line suddenly took a dump because the OL coach changed. The hogs know what's expected of them, anyway.
  6. I expect really good things from the D-line this season. Westerman and Okpalaugo on the ends has me all kinds of giddy.
  7. That's an insult to Neanderthals.
  8. Bob Irving has put up with a lot of crap from the WFC but he's always handled it like a pro and tells it like it is, regardless of how ugly or brutal it was. There's something to be said for a person like that, especially in today's sports world where it seems like having a homer bias is just par for the course and being negative is almost frowned upon. Knuckles' approach to covering the Bombers remains consistent, honest, and impartial. It's old school but I gotta say it's damned refreshing. A rare breed, to be sure. I really hope the Bombers can win a championship soon - for him. I mean, obviously for everyone but especially him.
  9. I hope Cheveldayoff learned his lesson on fringe blue liners after picking Strait last year. **shudder**
  10. I think the receiving corps should be okay, barring any injuries. Adams was on a torrid pace last season before getting injured and Denmark had some incredible chemistry with Nichols last season, too. MLB is the question mark and major concern at this point, IMO.
  11. New single from the Foo Fighters, "Run"
  12. It's not quite that simple. What about a stateless person? Or a person without a passport or other travel document showing their country of birth? These are aspects investigated by immigration officials during the interview process, which can be very lengthy when there is missing or a lack of documentation pertaining to an individual seeking asylum.
  13. Giving an opinion on an internet forum is sticking one's neck out...? It's guessing standings in a poll thread. Relax.
  14. Meanwhile, in the rectangle province:
  15. Buncha damned idiots.
  16. Here's more information on The Safe Third Country Agreement (the link is in a previous post I made):
  17. I really hope it doesn't have to come down to that. Yikes.
  18. Meh. Not really a need for him. The Jets' forward depth is solid.
  19. It is concerning. I don't think anyone's arguing that. When you consider the current situation in the US and the fact Canada and the US share the longest and technically unprotected* international land border on Earth, nobody should be surprised at what's been happening. Historically, however, it's not like this just started happening when Trump was elected POTUS. It's been an ongoing phenomenon for years. *meaning the areas between border ports of entry are essentially wide open
  20. Or miss the point entirely. Actually, the consensus is Nichols gets deserving credit for what he contributed. You obviously didn't watch the Bombers much, if at all, last season if you think it was strictly the defense who "did the job". The difference between Willy at the helm and then Nichols was significant; the latter was actually able to execute plays and move the chains, not to mention protect the ball. Nichols had his best season in 2016 and while he didn't light up the stats sheet, he proved his worth with not only with his play but his leadership. Strange how you can't see that and give credit where it's due. Or you just choose not to see it.
  21. Stellar deflection. I guess that's all you can hope for when you don't have a counterpoint, eh. But okay, I'll bite. The Bombers have a backup with CFL experience (LeFevour). Can't say the same for your boys in green. Nichols - Davis - LeFevour Glenn - Bennett - Young It doesn't take much to see which trio is better.
  22. And it didn't improve much last season even when Hurl was replaced. This just shows there's more to a good rush defense than one player, namely a strong defensive line. The Bombers haven't had a strong defensive line for a while now and it's exposed the LB corps. To be clear, I'm not defending Hurl but there's more to the picture than just him. Disagree. The O-line has improved dramatically with the additions of Bond and Hardrick, particularly the former. The Bombers have pretty decent ratio flexibility and the last thing they should do is shake up the O-line, IMO.
  23. Probably because winning is a team accomplishment. A good QB can put up solid numbers but if the team as a whole stinks, they'll lose more than they win. When Glenn's had a good supporting cast, he's managed to put up some solid numbers (2004 - 2007, 2010, 2012, 2013). However, I don't think that'll be the case this season and his age only worsens the situation. Jones has mismanaged his QB situation terribly. The drop-off after Glenn is staggering.
