  1. U.S. sailors retrieve what's left of the alleged Chinese spy balloon
  2. O'Day going full drunken sailor and FA is a week away.
  3. No idea. I just think now that Weineke is off the market, Lawler (at the right price) seems like a no brainer for Walters.
  4. Lawler back in blue and gold it is.
  5. That fanbase and inept franchise deserve each other.
  6. "No disrespect..." Proceeds to follow up by labelling Mike O'Shea the coaching equivalent of Forest Gump, and then puts his smoothbrained mental gymnastics on full display. Oxygen pilfering stubblejumpers are never short on such takes, though.
  7. I'm sure name recognition counts to some degree but neither was handed anything as far as I can tell regarding their respective accomplishments. I don't know Blaikie personally but have voted for him twice now based on his views, ideas, and commitment to his community. I've known Ben for nearly 15 years and he's as dedicated as he is intelligent - much like his late father. I wouldn't classify either as "nepo* babies," as both have worked diligently to get where they are in their lives. And FWIW, neither of them are kids. They're both in their late 30s. * nepotism generally carries a negative connotation
  8. Great write-up on #44.
  9. His passport and his versatility make him pretty much a must re-sign, IMO. He's coming off his most productive season, too. Being a hometown boy is a bonus.

  11. A few days old but still funny as hell:
  12. Dumb, self-important pieces of **** vote for dumb, self-important pieces of ****.
  13. Ellingson didn't even play half the season last year. Collaros finding chemistry shouldn't really be a concern considering how well he and Lawler performed in 2021 and then he and Schoen last season.

  15. Suddenly, my leftover pizza for lunch seems woefully inadequate.
  16. Saw your chirp on Reddit yesterday and had a good chuckle. Stubble-jumpers are such a sensitive bunch.
  17. The kid is 150,000% captain material.

  19. Huge rally in the third led by Norrissey was a relief to see, as losing four in a row and three in a row on home ice would've been ugly going into an extended break. Four unanswered goals while down 2-0 speaks volumes, IMO. The leaders stepped up when they needed to and propelled the team to a much needed win.
  20. Or this: Seriously, though... Love this off-season for the Riders. LOL
  21. He'll be 31 next week, so what he brings to be table is fully realized, IMO. He proved last season to be an important piece of the O-line and settled in quite nicely as the season progressed. That's impressive when you consider he sat out the 2019 season, there was no 2020 season, and spent the majority of the 2021 season on the PR. Walters did his homework on Kolankowski and it's worked out very well.
  22. It seems like the most fickle fans are also the noisiest - and the most ignorant. This three-game slide has been pretty ugly to watch but they're still second in the division and only 3 pts. out of the lead. The Stars on a three-game slide, too. The team is getting an extended - and seemingly much needed - break after tonight's game. That should be a good opportunity to rest up and reset for the final 30 games. Wheeler mentioned the issue just last week: too much standing still. That speaks to a tired team, IMO.
