  1. You're right. He's managed the coaching part of his duties particularly poorly, so he deservedly wears that. That doesn't take away from what he's done well, though. And I'd have to imagine he's been extended due to the latter; the pros outweigh the cons. That isn't to say he's not on thin ice, nor does it mean he's been rewarded for the mediocre performance of the team on the ice. All that being said, getting this next coaching hire right is so important.
  2. It's not just the GM's responsibility for a team to be successful, though. That falls on the coaches and players, some of whom have already paid the price. His primary duties are to draft and manage the roster and salary cap. What's been mediocre about either?
  3. How has been mediocre as a general manager? This is very good news. Now get on with hiring new coaches to get this team back on track. To Chevy and co.:
  4. https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/russia-says-hitler-was-jewish-1.6437936 Reprehensible comments from Sergei Lavrov. What a ******* garbage human.
  5. You're unhinged. He never said his game was perfectly fine, nor did he claim he's bigger than the team. He admits right there he has to be better.
  6. Asked tough questions and gave honest answers. Not sure what else anyone who follows this team was expecting.
  7. It's a far more complicated situation than just immigration and material gain. It's a similar trend in many parts of the developed world (housing, cost of living, stagnating wages, job stability, work-life balance) but with its own set of unique circumstances (traditional attitudes, societal roles), and those have been exacerbated by the pandemic. https://onlychildworld.com/understanding-the-birth-rate-in-japan/
  8. Nothing but self-absorbed losers.
  9. "bUt ThE dEmOcRatS" Solid whataboutism that has literally nothing to do with Canada. FTFY
  10. "Justinflation" That is the definition of a dog whistle meant to do nothing more than rile up his misinformed and scared supporters, and is just as bad as damaging as Trudeau a communist. He proudly supported the Covidiot Clown Convoy, he's made ignorant remarks regarding the public health restrictions and mandates, and he consistently makes nonsensical statements about the liberals trying to destroy the Canada. Hyperbole, dog whistles, and falsehoods are all part of the alt-right playbook. Poilievre engages in those tactics daily - and he seems to enjoy doing so (probably because it feeds his narcissism). So, no. It is not a gross exaggeration to suggest he's alt-right. Imagine defending a Canadian politician who supports another country's political party by buying crappy merch. That's what's comical.
  11. Ditto. Love the colours, dislike the design (the big W on the chest ain't it). A big meh from me and I won't add this to my collection, either.
  12. Cheering for the Flames?
  13. Seems like he's got a good head on his shoulders, not to mention lots of talent.
  14. At least Roger Stone's sanity is back on stable ground: https://hillreporter.com/watch-roger-stone-claims-there-is-a-satanic-portal-over-the-wh-that-can-only-be-closed-through-prayer-130277
  15. From what I can tell, he's a sniveling, devious grifter who's feeding on the fear and ignorance of his supporters to benefit his own selfish interests. His lack of of seeing the bigger picture, by choice or not, makes him an idiot of the short-sighted variety. That's a dangerous game to play, IMO. Especially when he does little more than resort to hyperbole, dog whistles, and outright falsehoods.
  16. Just when I think Poilievre couldn't possibly be any more of a hysterical ignoramus... https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/poilievre-bank-of-canada-audit-1.6433860 I sincerely hope the CPC selects him as their next leader. They can go for the loser hat trick.
  17. For those not on Cesspool:
  18. A clown hire by a clown organization. Fitting.
  19. Well said. A lot of ignorant kneejerk reactionaries in this fanbase calling for big trades and a half-assed rebuild over one bad season... Not realizing that in doing so, the team probably doesn't make the post-season any time soon and is remarkably weaker on paper immediately. You don't improve a team by deleting its talent simply because you're crusty a playoff berth wasn't achieved despite expectations. Shake-ups don't accomplish anything unless there's reasonable justification for them. And why the **** would the team trade Scheifele? As you said, unless the return benefits the Jets (getting an equal quality top 6 centre or more), it makes absolutely no sense and weakens the roster. He's been a PPG forward for six straight seasons and one of the most cap friendly contracts in the league. The first thing this organization needs to do is address coaching. It's time for a major change in that regard. PS - kudos to Comrie on getting his first NHL SO last night.
  20. The clown show from GQP North continues: https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/poilievre-ballingall-conservative-leadership-canada-proud-1.6433088
  21. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/alberta-us-presence-details-1.6431901 Jason Kenney is a bum.
