None of that was really denounced by anyone spearheading the movement, much less apologized for or the like. Trudeau wore blackface years before he held public office in any capacity, much less as prime minister. IIRC, he owned up to it and apologized. So, no. It doesn't show anything, except for some deflective bad faith arguing on your part. The latter is irrelevant; the former is still happening as we speak.

"Perfectly fine" is absolutely an overstatement. Oliveira had a fantastic week 1 performance but he only had one other 100+ yard rushing game (week 11 v. EDM). His numbers were pretty pedestrian otherwise but you can see the potential he has that's yet to be realized. The loss of Harris will be felt in the backfield and I don't see how that's up for debate. He's the complete package as a tailback and Oliveira or Augustine will have big shoes to fill in his absence. Losing Lawler sucks as a top weapon but Collaros made the most of his receivers in 2021 by moving the ball around (Demski and Bailey both had at least 70 targets). A balanced approach like that will be crucial again.

Anyone who sympathizes with these obnoxious, ignorant, sociopathic idiots and their protest tantrum is no better than they are. This **** is disrupting an already fragile economy, not to mention the lives of people who live and work in the affected areas. What earlier post? Harris was defended for the PED thing due to the circumstances around what happened back then. A trace amount of some archaic substance was blown out of proportion by local media members and crusty fanboys in other CFL cities, all of whom had some axe to grind with regard to Harris' ability and dominance as Blue Bomber. It ultimately had no bearing on his 2019 campaign as he shut them all up with his performance post-suspension. A nothing burger if there ever was one. This situation with him feeling insulted by the WFC for not offering what he felt he deserved is totally different, though.

It sounds like Harris had a lot going on away from the game and that ultimately impacted his commitment to his craft going into the 2021 season. Let me preface the rest of my comments by saying he's one of my favourite athletes ever and what he did as a Blue Bomber is nothing short of legendary by local and CFL standards. I love Andrew Harris. What kinda chaps my hide is this narrative the Bombers "let him go" despite offering him a contract he felt was insufficient. He chose to decline and look elsewhere for an opportunity to keep playing football, so there's accountability to be shared by either side, IMO. Was the offer that paltry by the WFC? Were the two sides that far away on numbers? The article states his offer from the team was insulting but without knowing the specifics (hard money, incentives, etc.), it's hard to determine whether or not that's a reasonable conclusion. It sounds like there was validity to the rationale of the offer, what with being out of shape prior to TC, strained trust with O'Shea, and then his injury-riddled 2021 season. Granted, he still produced at a very high level when he did play, but injuries tend to become a concern as one is hitting his mid-30s. That doesn't necessarily bode well for most athletes, tailbacks in particular. There's also business side here to consider, which he should be able to appreciate considering his entrepreneurial endeavours off the field. The past is no doubt relevant but the future has to be considered, meaning someone has to take the torch sooner than later. I'm sure Harris can also appreciate that as he was once in that position. It's unfortunate to see this unfold as it has. But I don't think what's happened should cast doubt on the organization or injure any reputations of those involved. In any event, it's going to be weird and somewhat gross seeing him in double blue this upcoming season. And that's not going to change for me. All the best in Toronto, Andrew.
