  1. Have to say, I like what I've seen from today's signings. Top tier K/P, RB, 2nd tier DL, WR and a unknown RB. Now if the scouts can finally kick in and contribute a big receiver and o lineman, we might just have something to finally get excited about!
  2. Well we'll see in two years if he's washed up at 30.
  3. I'm betting that the feeling would be mutual.
  4. A little late tot he party but... Zach Collaros Bo Levi Mitchell Mike Reilly Ricky Ray Henry Burris Drew Willy Trevor Harris Travis Lulay Darian Durant Jonathan Jennings Matt Nichols Drew Tate Kevin Glenn After that... does it really matter?
  5. Congratulations. You have just demonstrated perfectly that you have no clue how a Board of Directors in an organization such as this functions. The BoD does not decide where they are going to spend money. That's up to management. Management prepares a budget and explains why money is going into this project or that one. Individual board members might have questions about various things but they do not "dictate" where money goes. I laughed at this: " Until our governance changes this type of board composition is going to continue... And that's why we have been stuck for the past two decades in mediocrity." I know that there have been all sorts of rumours about board interference in years gone by but precious little evidence to back that up. Bauer didn't strike me as a guy who would allow himself to be nothing more that a puppet CEO, Miller is certainly not. You know why we lose, it's not because of the BoD, it's because we keep hiring weak GM's and HC's, Because we've drafted poorly, because we haven't had a dominant O line or QB in a long time. There are a million reasons why we suck, but unfortunately for you and your agenda, the BoD isn't one of them, because again, THE BOARD HAS NO CONTROL OVER FOOTBALL OPERATIONS. You need to get on the board of a larger non-profit organization and educate yourself a bit.
  6. Speaking of agendas, tell me, what exactly do you think the BoD's role in football operations is?
  7. Yes, what we need is the directors sitting in a room screaming "Win" at the top of their lungs while watching the game because that's clearly what's been missing until now.
  8. In before the obligatory "Why didn't they trade him for draft picks?"
  9. If they start winning, O'Shea could send the janitor out there for the interview. Just win, boys, it fixes everything.
  10. Like the clean lines of the new site. Very nicely done!
  11. Rich, if that is the case, that may say something very serious about the organization as a whole. It's one thing for an employee to make a mistake, even a seemingly dumb one, it happens. Good organizations will try and make people feel that mistakes can happen, but when they do, it needs to get reported and corrected. Essentially, that making a mistake is not the end of the world. But it is entirely a different story when an employee makes a mistake and then believes that the best course of action is to quietly fix it, not tell anyone and hope that everything will just work itself out. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
  12. o.k...who is the best choice and why?Someone who hasn't failed here twice already for obvious reasons. Lapo has been stuck on TSN for the last few years, that says something to me about how in demand the guy is. Yeah he's the most experienced candidate out there... but that isn't exactly much to hang your hat on. Grow some balls and throw out a name, you contemptible harpy I have already said I wanted Khari Jones, but I'd have taken someone like Jarious Jackson or someone else in that vein too. I didn't like Lapolice the first time he was here and I didn't like him the 2nd time, what's going to change the 3rd time? I a sick of hearing about how much he learned in his time away, people spun the same BS about Bellefool when we dragged him back too. As far as K Jones goes, he doesn't have a large body of work to judge, so you can't really say he'd be better than LaPolice. Jackson, it appears, isn't available. The field is pretty narrow at the moment, so we got who O'Shea feels is the best of what's out there.
  13. o.k...who is the best choice and why? Someone who hasn't failed here twice already for obvious reasons. Lapo has been stuck on TSN for the last few years, that says something to me about how in demand the guy is. Yeah he's the most experienced candidate out there... but that isn't exactly much to hang your hat on. I hear what you are saying but I think that when you look at the available crop of OC's out there, the pickings weren't abundant. Factor in the fact that O'Shea knows that this hire has to absolutely be solid, or it's the last one he's going to get to do here and you can understand why he went with LaPolice.
  14. Well, LaPolice would not have been my first choice for OC, but the die has been cast, so good luck Paul, hope you make us doubters eat our words.
  15. Speaking this way about someone who wrestled with additions and died is not only classless, it's pathetic. I was fed up with his constant slagging of the Bombers but this is a new low. Would really be nice if he would just go grace some other forum with his presence. "Spread the joy", so to speak.
  16. Actually I hope he's not making decisions with this mindset as he'd be more apt to make a mistake. I would rather a coach make every major decision this way, because ultimately, he career does count on them.
  17. I agree. I can't believe that people aren't jumping at the chance to sign a contract to be an OC and take themselves out of the running when there's a HC job out there.
  18. O'Shea is not dumb and he knows that he's running out of chances. So I expect that he's going to try and hire like his career depends on it.
  19. Rush looks like a new world man to me.
  20. It would appear that the people that designed our signature jersey have branched out and are now doing logos.
  21. Good game, but it really stung to watch this game being played in our stadium while we seem to be so far away from being able to get there ourselves. Watching Chris Jones, I couldn't help thinking "He's no Mike O'Shea" and Edmonton fans should be very happy about that. God how I want this team to be great again, but how long do we wait... Just feeling real down right now.
  22. It is my understanding that the indigenous people of Alaska will often refer to themselves as Eskimos, whereas the indigenous people of Canada tend to find that term offensive. It's similar to how some members of the Planes people find the word Sioux offensive, prefering the use of Dakota, Lakota, Oglala etc, while others don't have an issue with it.

  24. I took it to the bank.. They were confused at first, then they told me to leave. Thanks for nothing.
