  1. LOL, ya because in a clutch game when the chips are down, you just know that Glenn's gonna pick up the team, put it on his shoulders and then boldly march it down to the 20 or so. Then throw a pick. He's not called Mr. Dependable (by opposition DB's) for nothing you know.
  2. Well, they might not formally say "We want Walters and only Walters", but they can certainly encourage him to apply and let him know that they would be really really pleased to see his application come in. Then they can do a couple of token interviews with other people and find out, surprise surprise, that Walters is just the guy they've been looking for. Happens quite often. Sort of like when the Bombers hired Walters after their "exhaustive" search throughout the CFL for the very best GM candidate possible. I've always marvelled how lucky the Bombers were that the very guy that they needed just happened to already be in the building.
  3. But what if he can't make trades because of his poor interpersonal skills? Lawless said he rough around the edges. Ya, we need some smooth as silk guy. Someone like Wally Buono.
  4. Umm, no. His history showed exactly what kind of OC he was and last year just demonstrated more of the same. You hire mediocrity, don't be surprised when you get mediocrity. MB has been and always will be mediocre. A smart football mind recognizes this. Might that have been a reason his was available mid-season in 2013?He was still getting paid by Hamilton at the time and was on a tour of NFL camps to further his knowledge of offences.Yea, I've heard that excuse before. Let me just say that if he was a top notch coordinator, he would not have been on the market long. Look at Richie Hall and others. You get to have time off because no one really thinks you'd be an upgrade over what they already have. Except for us, we managed to hire an OC so bad that MB was actually a step up and then we decided (incredibly) that he was good enough to keep. It's sad when mediocre is good enough instead of "good enough until we can get a real OC" Bellefuille was coaching in Omaha in 2012. And look at Lapo and others. Lapo was considered a pretty good OC but wants to be a HC so he has turned down OC positions offered since he was fired here. And that explains why MB was willing to come here mid season as a "consultant"? Not really understanding why people seem to be trying to find excuses for why he was out of the CFL except for the obvious and simple reason: No one wanted him because they believed they had better. Not because MB was excited to be coaching in arena league or was holding out for a HC position. In 2013 he was on his sabbatical touring NFL camps when Wade called him. "sabbatical" - CFL dictionary defines this as: "No one's interested"

  8. Players can and do get hurt, but at the same time, MB seems to have a gladiator mentality concerning the health of his QB's. Hiring an offensive coordinator that has experience is usually a good thing, but when said experience shows that the OC is mediocre at best, then O'Shea should have had the smarts to replace MB after last year instead of giving him yet one more year to see how many 5 yr curls he can call and how many of his QB's can be carted off the field. O'Shea the player > O'Shea the coach.
  9. Me too, we can always use another butt in the stands, but I'm betting that he'd want the Bombers to pay for the seat and give him access to their corporate wifi so he can continue to check out his NFL options during the game. Priorities, don't ya know.
  10. Dang, I was so looking forward to Henoc and his 6 game "be grateful that I'll wear your jersey until the off season and I try and get back into the NFL" signing. Good on you Ian. Welcome back.
  11. Except that if you look at Moore's first three years in BC, you'll see that each year was trending upwards, the third year dramatically so. Of course that would be what Walters used to make his decision to acquire Moore. What else would you suggest he do? Wait until he's strung a whole bunch of dominating seasons together, then hope that he'll get to free agency? He signed him because he showed real production and was only getting better. To me, that's exactly when you go after a guy like that. And the issues he's faced since joining us have not been things that Walters could have anticipated. Since being with us, he's battled injury issues, MB issues and this year Brohm/Marve issues. So yes, there are problems, but again, without a time machine, Walters did what made sense at the time. I'm sure that when negotiations come up, salary will be adjusted accordingly.
  12. You can say that again... oh wait. Never mind.
  13. And you lecture too much. It is a lecture to tell grown adults to stop feeling personally offended by someone doing something which should have no tangible impact on their life? Hilarious that you make such a comment when lecturing Muamba on how to live his life. Here is some reality: 1. You are an adult, sports is entertainment, stop allowing it to impact your life. You aren't on the team. 2. Some here take their opinions, and professional sports far too seriously. 3. Henoc Muamba can take a day, a month, a year, or 10 years to do whatever he wants, his life, he can do it the way he wants, and he isn't wrong. He didn't ask for, nor does he care, nor should he care, what anybody thinks about how he is going about it. Goes onto a sports forum, tells people to not worry so much about sports. Good luck with that. But here's the deal as I see it: You are absolutely right when you say that Henoc can take as much time as he wants and use whatever strategy he likes in making his decision. But at the same time, I'm free to come on this board and give my opinion about it. It's sort of why these sites exist. So again, in my opinion, I think his process is a farce, just like I think that your opinion on posting is way off base.
  14. Only 10 minutes of scrimmage and still giving Brohm reps. WTF? Because, like it or not, Brohm is the backup right now. Realistically, there is no one else who could really step in if Nichols couldn't go in. There's no way Boyd's going to be ready yet (or for a while) nor is the guy who's name escapes me, but was #4 on the depth chart. Like it or not, for the next few games at the very least, it's Nichols - Brohm.
  15. Noticed in the second one that Buck still doesn't move around much in the pocket and he's holding on to the phone way too long. Guess some people never learn.
  16. If that's the case, why do some kids dream of playing for the Leafs?
  17. I understand that both Argo fans are outraged by this. The Argos really didn't think this through because if they had moved the game to Hamilton, they could have rented a cab and given all their fans a free trip to the game. Missed marketing opportunity there.
  18. In away that's too bad, because I thought we should wear them on the road against Toronto. Hilarity would ensue and afterwards the Bombers could pile them all up at midfield at the Rogers Center and light them on fire. There would be rich symbolism in that.
  19. This is just such a dumb way to look at it. You don't just start cutting players out of spite. Injuries or not he's our best receiver and cutting him makes the team worse. The scouting staff has been incapable of bringing in a good receiver so far and who knows what's available in free agency. Can't cut Moore until we have a star receiver to replace him. With all due respect, if you're paying a player more than he's worth, that's dumb. If we're going to improve as a team we have to be smarter than this. Moore has not produced for us going on two seasons now (1 TD) and had just one good year with BC before that. That's on Walters and I don't care if it's because of injury, trying too hard, or because he forgot to sacrifice a chicken in his basement. Too much money for a non-productive player. Yea, I really don't understand why Walters, before he signs someone for big money, doesn't take a moment and look into the future to see if that player is going to have a good season or two or not. It's almost like he's hiring people on past performance that then just hoping that they'll continue to perform. That really doesn't sound too professional to me. Come on Walters, you should be better than that.
  20. You know, there's nothing wrong with wanting to make sure that you're making the right decision. It's quite another thing to create this whole dog and pony show. You want to think things through, wait a bit and see if the NFL is going to come calling? Fine. Go home and read through the offers, do the negotiations quietly and when you've reached your decision, let us all know. Until then, the magical mystery tour is nothing more than farce.
  21. Or Not But just get on with it already...
  22. My only concern with this kid is his "I'm just here for a cup of coffee until I can get back to the big show" vibe. Of course that might just be his agent talking but in any case, I'm thinking that if he or his agent believes that he's going to just walk in and begin to dominate, well, then there's another US based agent/player who's about to get a rude awakening when it comes to the skill level in the CFL. I'm still baffled by how so called knowledgeable US football people can be so completely ignorant when it comes to this league, especially when more and more CFL'ers move successfully to the NFL and how many "can't miss" US college prospects wash out here. Does young Mr. Boyd have what it takes? As confident as he sounds, and as excited as some here seem to be by this signing, I'm going to adopt a wait and see attitude on whether or not we are seeing the second coming of Warren Moon, because the odds are... we ain't
  23. Personally, I don't give a flying rat's bum either way.
  24. I expect we'll be going back to royal blue, but I'd be very surprised to see the classic jersey back because ya gotta sell new stuff and lots of us already have the royal blue one in the closet.
  25. ...this is how the cfl has been for how many seasons? Nope the CFL is the only league in the world with bad teams. Every other league only has good teams. The Cleveland Browns say HELLO! Now that Kevin Costner is their GM, they are going to be just fine. I hear he's a wizard at manipulating the draft.
