  1. And yet my buddy, who works for a Norwegian company, always has to bring suitcases with clothes and shoes back to the head office over there because the people ask him to, as their prices are so high they can't afford to buy new clothes and shoes. Norway is ridiculously expensive, and needlessly so. People who always go on about how great the Scandinavian countries are, and how "happy" they are, really should go live there so that they get some perspective outside of the socialist propaganda you are being fed. When my buddy got the job, the company in Norway sent over a Norwegian to supervise the set up of their branch office in Calgary. At the end of his one year term, he called the office in Norway and told them to stick it, he was staying in Canada. My buddy asked him why, and he said "Because here I can afford to buy a house and a car and a trailer and when I get my paycheque, there's still money left after taxes. You guys are doing things right here." So there you go. Well, that's settled then because clearly, that one guy represents the entirety of the people of Norway. So if I can find a Canadian who left Canada because he didn't like it here, that must mean that Canada's bad and some other country is "doing things right".
  2. Looks fairly well thought out to me. I'd give it 9 out to 10 on the 'meh' meter
  3. They should have decided on a totally unrealistic completion date and then cut as many corners as possible in order to make it, because that's how you build quality.
  4. What of his brother Wang? I know that his cousin Vince is a pretty cool dude.
  5. He may have put the names forth BUT he didn't say on to WHEN to pick them. Ettienne and Pencer would have been fine had they been 4-5 round picks, sent back to school, yada yada. But Mack picked them first overall making it impossible not to have them on the team right away otherwise you look like a fool. "Here you go boss. Here are some names for you to consider. They're not in any sort of order, so select them whenever." Do you really think it went down like that?
  6. Trust me on this, you really don't want to know.
  7. A PR guy for the team wrote a fluff piece about the people who pay his salary. Colour me shocked because I'm sure that this has never happened in the history of PR people. Seriously guys, his job is to promote the team, first, last and always. If you want drama, Friesen and Lawless handle that stuff.
  8. They certainly got the crowd size right!
  9. I was thinking of sending Taman a nice fruit basket or maybe a Subway gift card as thanks for taking one for the Bombers (and everyone else)
  10. Well... obviously nothing applies in all cases. You can buy a cat and train it for 10 years but it will never fly like a bird. ummm, catapult?
  11. Mercifully with broham back in the fold, the talk of KG can ride off to Detroit, like he should be doing.. He WAS a very solid, if unspectacular, QB.. Now.. He's far from solid and is beginning to dip into liability.. He's been a coach killer tho for the last 4 seasons.. I missed where his coaches for the last 4 years have been fired... That Hufnagel sure was killed by Kevin Glenn..... So all this "Glenn is done" talk comes about because of the playoff game last year? That's the only thing? Holy over reactions Batman. Ya, because he never had that reputation before last year. Seriously dude, you're not even trying. It's like you're channeling Glenn right now.
  12. But can you fill Stoudemire's jockey shorts? Alright, there have been several "Stoudemire references" on the forum. What did I miss? And I hope I won't regret asking... Click on my avi and take a close look. The picture is small but what you'll see isn't. Or you can see the picture on his twitter account: https://twitter.com/_Stoudermire11 I now officially regret asking.
  13. Yes, absolutely this....a good point, actually. It's only good if it's funny. If it's lame, no thanks. Oh I don't know. Seth Rogan and Norm MacDonald seem to have made careers out of it.

  15. I don't think we have any interest in Curran.Bombers definitely have interest in Curran. Reports have the Bombers and Redblack in a bidding war for his services.Reports aren't always accurate. But you are? No, but in this particular situation... Yes. Ah, the "I have top secret information" routine. Always helpful in a forum such as this. Thanks for your input, it's most enlightening.
  16. I'm interested in taking a step forward before winning the race. Progress, even a little bit is a worthwhile endeavour. Going from bad to great is unrealistic, going from bad to average to great is a much easier transition though. Too many people impatient and looking for those magic beans that will fix everything, they don't appreciate the process of building something up. I'm interested in turning things around. Not in 5 years, or 3 years, or 2. NOW. Other teams have done it, gone from being a cellar dweller to highly competitive in one year, so it is something that can be done. I'm tired of the excuses and the "Rome wasn't built in a day" crap. This ain't Rome, so build the bloody thing now. And by the way, I think that Walters, as much as I was really concerned about him when he was hired, seems to be of a like mind. So forget average, because when you aim for average, you've already failed. Like I said, impatient with no respect for the process. Impatient, damned straight I'm impatient. I would think that anyone who is concerned about this team, it's traditions and it's history, both recent and farther back, would fell the same way. Tell me, how has your patience worked out for you so far? You're happy with how the team has been performing these last 5 or so years? Participation ribbons are good enough for you? And as for respect fothe process, that's rich. What process exactly am I to respect. The process that has kept this team where it's been for so long? Buzz words and catch phrases might be ok for you but I'll take results. Not only that I expect them. Clearly, with your "respect the process" mantra, you must be a Leafs fan.

  18. Good to hear. Now if we can just sign Curran.
  19. So then I really can't figure out how Glenn has lasted this long. Other than people thinking that Kevin Glenn 2015 is still KG 2007, which he isn't.Or, crazy thought here, you're selling Glenn short because of a personal bias against the player he is average at best and this is the CFL. There is a drought at quality qbs Absolutely he is average, but average to some people apparently means bad. You can do worse at backup than Kevin Glenn and the Bombers have done worse since basically Kevin Glenn was a backup here there first time, that's a decade. Hell they've done worse than Kevin Glenn as a starter for most of the last decade too. Yes, you can do a lot worse than Kevin Glenn, but you can also do better too. Maybe the Bombers have decided that settling for mediocre and hoping for the best is one of the rasons we've been so bad for so long? Is it possible that maybe they see a higher potential upside with the people we had here last year? For most of the past decade mediocre would be an upgrade at qb so don't give me that crappy argument. So by your logic, because we were less than mediocre, we should be content getting to it? Remind me never to invite you to give the inspirational speech before a big game. "Remember this men, there's mediocrity in each one of you, I know there is. Get out there and show them just how mediocre you can be!"
  20. So then I really can't figure out how Glenn has lasted this long. 21. So then I really can't figure out how Glenn has lasted this long. Other than people thinking that Kevin Glenn 2015 is still KG 2007, which he isn't. Or, crazy thought here, you're selling Glenn short because of a personal bias against the player Or, another crazy thought here, some of us realize that Glenn just isn't all that good anymore. By way of example, BC is a team that will be needing someone to back up Lulay. They went out and got Glenn just for that purpose, saw what he was capable of, and cut him, even though they are really no better off, backup wise, than they were one year ago. What then does that tell you? Tells me that people, a whole lot more knowledgeable than you or I, recognized that he's past his best before date and they'd rather find someone else, even if that someone has a whole lot less experience. But ya, it's clearly because of personal bias
  22. Funny that you didn't unleash this same logic in the Glenn thread. Because we're talking inexperienced rookies at qb in the Glenn thread. We had experienced OL & they still sucked. Asking a rookie qb with limited experience to carry the team on his back if he has to is just asking for trouble. So apples to oranges. Ummm, no. He's suggesting that these experienced O linemen might not live up to expectactions. That their performance might not be all that we're hoping for. Which is the same sort of logic that could be applied to Glenn, that maybe he wouldn't be the savior of the season if he played. Anyway, sorry for hijacking the thread, but the irony was just too good to pass up. What irony? Having more faith in an experienced and proven qb over an inexperienced one? Did I say I didn't think the OL was improved? No I just said let's wait for them to prove it before we start calling them best in the league because it takes 5 guys working together for an OL to be good. Tempering expectations has nothing to do with thinking Glenn is a better option at #2 qb for the short term than Marve. Go chug another glass of haterade and keep on hating on Glenn. Fact is he's still a decent qb for all his warts. No hateorade here, just know what I see when I see Glenn. A decent qb when everything's going his way, but only when things are going his way. That's sort of why he's been the vagabond qb, what you see is definitely what you get.
  23. But if Glenn had won it, it would have been one of the greatest exhibitions of quarterbacking in the history of football. Ya, I know how this drill works.
  24. Looks like Glenn won't be coming to Winnipeg YES!!!!!!! Halle-freaking-lujah
  25. iso you do understand that Glenn does not provide "insurance" if he plays like he so often does. You also realize that he's now a year older and that "experience" is such that BC, a team that could really use a quality backup, had Glenn and cut Glenn. What does that say about him? You're simply hoping, nothing more, that Glenn will give us more that Marve, but you have no way of knowing if that's the case. None at all. And yes, Glenn has two Cup appearances. Remind me again what his record is as a Cup starter, would you?
