  1. If the running game (plan A) is shut down, then a good OC will revert to plan B. Plan B will be something that complements the skill set of the current QB and not ask him to become something (a pocket passer) that he's not ready to do. LaPolice should, by now, know that everyone is scheming to shut down our running game. It's on him to recognize that he's not starting Nichols anymore. I just don't see much of an adjustment at all for Streveler. That's on the OC.
  2. That's what we want, 60% Keven Glenn!! He's the answer!
  3. I know what you mean. If you go by the stadium before game time, you'll see bunches and bunches of people trying to find out which crew is reffing the game before they buy their tickets. Oh wait... no, you don't because that doesn't happen. Ever.
  4. AH! Of course, use the Jedi, "I'm not the QB your looking for" technique. Yes, let's do that!
  5. Wait... So you're suggesting that a 2nd year QB should just start freelancing when he thinks that the offence is bogging down? There's a word for a QB that does that. It's "ex-QB". He's paid to run the plays. The OC is paid to recognize what's happening and to make adjustments. The last thing we want is to tell Streveler is that he should just start making it up as he goes along.
  6. Yes, I'm all for bringing in Kevin Glenn, a guy who over and over, showed us why they call him Mr. October, which would be great except for the fact that the CFL season goes for another month.
  7. Not as many as you might think. Does being Commander of Assinine Rhetoric get you any?
  8. I would disagree. There is a reason that such words as timid, scared or gun-shy exist, because one can legitimately be scared or timid, or gun-shy and at the same time, not be cowardly or a coward. Just because you don't like bats, and act in a scared fashion, does not make you a coward. The use of words like "coward" which carries all sorts of connotations, should only be done with the greatest of care. Language is a powerful thing.
  9. Actually, it does because, by definition, to act in a cowardly manner is to be a coward. Might I suggest that you learn to moderate your language?
  10. To suggest someone is a coward, or has done something in a cowardly manner, is to speak to their character as a person in some of the harshest terms possible. Unless you know Nichols personally, or have been in the same position as him (ie: a profession football player) then the comment that you made speaks far more to your character than it does his, and what it says is not flattering to you in any way. You embarrass yourself, sir and you should stop.
  11. Maybe the issue shouldn't be having to have the CFL pay. Maybe the issue is living in the only country in the Western world that does not have universal health care.
  12. He wasn't arrested, he was convicted. 9 years...
  13. Just spoke to #CFL director of officiating Darren Hackwood about why Vernon Adams was not ejected for swinging his helmet at Adam Bighill. "It's a miss," he said. "It's safe to say that he should have been ejected for what he did." They admitted they screwed up. The rest of what you want are just platitudes.
  14. If they didn't see it, they didn't see it. At the same time, being that this is such a QB driven league (hence all the rules to protect them) I'm not surprised at all that the refs would err on the side of keeping a QB in the game over ejecting him.
  15. In what I've seen of the post game interviews by O'Shea, he comes across as a bit more ticked off that he can otherwise hide. That tells me he's really really mad. I'm hoping that Hall and LaPolice are in for a dressing down and a reading of the riot act. Bob Irving said it best when he mentioned that these "lessons" are not the ones you should be learning from at this time of the year. In a way I'm glad that they lost this game because it will force O'Shea to address things in a way that he might not of if they had squeaked out a victory. Hopefully, things get corrected now, as we make our final run for the playoffs. If not, there will have to be some changes made in the off season because this team has too much talent to lose like this.
  16. It's a hootenanny
  17. If the fan base gets behind it, you could sell dozens. Good luck!
  18. DYK that the Bombers are perfect when they outscore the opponent at the end of the 4th quarter!
  19. Well, I live here and I think that while it has problems, just like every other city, there are few other places I'd live. Further to that I've been here for over 35 years and I'd take this Brandon over the Brandon of 15-20 years ago, and most certainly, over the Brandon of the early 80's. Your mileage may vary...
  20. Hey, hey, bloody hey, easy there Sparky...
  21. Just be forewarned, you really should not be hunting in Regina or Saskatoon.
  22. Might just be that he's decided that he's only here as insurance, and is very likely never going to dress, much less see the field. That being the case, he might have better things to do. I wouldn't automatically connect this with Nichols.
  23. Hockey doesn't have positional numbers like football does, and football teams have much bigger rosters. But other than that, great point!
