I think that the bolded part actually explains what happened. Bennett had three years CFL experience and yet, there was little to choose between his play and a guy fresh out of college. Also, bear in mind that last year Bennett was beaten out by another player fresh out of college. I think that the Bombers might be thinking that Bennett doesn't have a ton of ceiling left and what you see is pretty much what you're going to get.

I'm with you Chip. I mean, come on, they had the whole off season to work the rust off. They should all be in mid season form from play 1 of the pre season. The fact that each of them didn't throw for 300 yards and at least two touchdowns, in their fist game, working with new receivers and a thrown together O line clearly shows that we need to burn this team down and start over. I've never been to an NFL game but I got a similar experience when I painted our living room and then sat down and watched it dry. Same excitement but tickets were way cheaper.
