  1. The 1990's Offensive coordinator just called, he wants his strategy back.
  2. I think he ended up in ICU for a while after getting hit by the ball.
  3. If Cappiciotti has been released, we should sign him because we know his name and that's all that matters
  4. Not to flog the dead horse a bit more, but there are people in this world who simply like to be contrary for contrary's sake. It feeds something in them to stand against the prevailing opinion. Someone can care about something, like the Bombers and still want to be the "loyal opposition". Ya, it can be a bit tiring but he's not trying to be destructive, unlike some (thankfully) former posters here.
  5. The concern is reasonable, but at the same time, you just can't pass up the opportunity to sign talent like that. After all, no draft selection or player can guarantee anything beyond the next play.
  6. Rather than using the ignore, I'd like the option of "sad trombone" sound replacing his text. You get the same effect but it's much more efficient.
  7. Well, in fairness, they are scouting Americans, not Canadians.
  8. I agree. I expect that you're thinking it will take at least one year for the Schooners to be better than us.
  9. Bouncers call it "a handle"
  10. Lol, Ya, and if the NFL decides that the "legal agreement" is no longer in effect? You really think the CFL has the financial muscle to take on the NFL???
  11. No, not at all. One can always chose to ignore a contract because they believe it to be null and void. Whether or not it is actually null and void in law and if there is a will to enforce the contract is another matter altogether. In this case, I'd bet that thew CFL could sign AAF players because the likelihood of someone wanting to enforce the contract is low. At the same time, it sends out a signal that we will only honour contracts that we feel we choose to. That's a dangerous signal to put out there when we have an organization like the NFL which honours our contracts only because they choose to.
  12. The contracts are void the minute that both parties say they are. Until then, either side can claim that the contract is still in effect and binding. That's why we have courts.
  13. Mike, it's only different because the NFL says it is. They're willing to honour our contracts because having a stable "feeder" league is in their best interest. But don't doubt for a second that if they ever decided that they really don't need the CFL, our contracts wouldn't be worth the paper they are printed on.
  14. The CFL ignores another league's legal contracts at its peril. The NFL could always decide that if the CFL can do it...
  15. It might, but the last thing the players would want is to have the contract nullified. They're sure to get nothing then. You want to be able to say that this is a valid contract and I'm owed this money and that they breech is interfering with my ability to make money. Then the potential for a punitive award gets better. Of course, it's pretty hard to sue an entity that has zero assets once the creditors are paid, but hey, it's also not too smart to sign a contract with a fledgling league after all the other fledgling leagues have demonstrated that this doesn't work, but hey, roll the dice, take your chances.
  16. Well, in fairness, when you consider the role of tight end in the "modern" era, he's just a bit more important than the equipment manager. Having said that, I'm waiting for the poll on GOAT equipment manager so I can find out who the go to guy in the 1930's was!
  17. I just hope that we aren't hurt by guys waiting to see if they'll get picked up by that CFL killer, the AAF. Oh... wait...
  18. For brevity's sake, in the future, can we just invoke this by saying "TBurg rule"?
  19. You're right, Noeller. I've been trying to ignore Captain Contrarian, but if he's going to try and provoke, he's gotta put in a little bit more thought that he did on that one. He's slipping...
  20. And that is different from moving up because of an injury how exactly? You earn the starter's spot by being the backup first, and then making the most of the opportunity when it presents itself, regardless of how that happens.
  21. It's almost seems that people like Ambrosie and others that actually do this stuff for a living have more information than us. Silly as that sounds.
  22. So if you score a 6 point conversion to you then get to convert the conversion? I see hilarity ensuing...
  23. You only get a second challenge if the first one is right. Jason will still have to make a decision about when and where he should throw it. Not too concerned by this
  24. His tweet may as well have been this: CFL News@CFL_News “I can’t even imagine what the second-best illness is in this country, because explosive diarrhea is so far ahead in first place.” - Derek Taylor #CFL #Riders via @robvanstone 12 2:33 PM - Mar 29, 2019
