  1. I think that some people have quickly forgotten just how unreliable our kicking situation was just a few years ago. That we have secured Medlock for two more years is huge. Well done Walters!
  2. Yes, he ordered an execution after holding a trial in an essentially ungoverned part of Canada versus someone who put a bounty on people because they're "different". That is a monstrously dumb comment and if you truly can't see the difference then there is no point in trying to have any further discussion.
  3. Looks like I picked a bad day to quit sniffing glue.
  4. There was nothing wrong with what he wrote: in·ti·mate /ˈin(t)əˌmāt/ verb gerund or present participle: intimating imply or hint. "he had already intimated that he might not be able to continue"
  5. I believe that if you are talking about something that will happen in the future, the word you want is proactive.
  6. Being a member of the CFLPA is not a full time job. Playing football is. Football season is over. Did you really expect that through December all these people would be hunkered down on some hotel in Toronto? I'm pretty sure that talks have been going on all this time. If you've ever done contract negotiations there are often the "formal" negotiations and then there are the "informal" negotiations. The informal negotiations will set the stage for the formal ones, so I wouldn't get my panties all in a bunch. Just because you don't know what's going on doesn't mean they don't. Maybe give Ambrosie a call and see if you can be cc'ed into the discussions.
  7. So what exactly needs to be made retroactive then?
  8. Because there's this little thing called family life and Christmas. Lots of people sort of want to travel home for December. Not really hard to figure that sort of stuff out, and again, if you had read the article you'd have known that talks have been ongoing for a while now. I'm expecting that each side pretty much knows where the starting points are already.
  9. Because with cap restrictions who in the world could you negotiate anything that might have impact on the 2018 budget, which is, for the most part, in the books already.
  10. joyous nole y'all
  11. My concern is for the receiver that has to catch that Hindenburg he's going to throw. Oh the humanity!
  12. I'd suggest that a team from a metropolitan area as large as Toronto should see higher numbers that this when they play. An Argos game pulls in 503k. The average is 539k. If you take out Saskatchewan, which does tend to skew things a bit (easy to draw crowds when you are the only pro sport in the province), you still end up at an average of about 517k. The largest population center's team can't even manage average viewership. Yes, its numbers are not the lowest, but personally, I would have expected that if there really was a large fan base on TO, the numbers would have shown that, but they don't. For the TSN people, the real saving grace in that part of the province are the Tiger Cats. It's their viewership which seems to be the real driving force in Ontario
  13. the numbers would disagree with you when you say solid. Average would be more like it, and again, when you consider the potential market, not all that great: Here’s a look at the TV ratings for the nine CFL teams compared to their 2017 numbers for the same number of games along with their attendance figures. http://3downnation.com/2018/09/21/cfl-ratings-report-team-team-look-season-far/ Here’s a look at the TV ratings for the nine CFL teams compared to their 2017 numbers for the same number of games along with their attendance figures. 14. I've done that lots of times and each time you have an excuse. "oh that was joking" or "that was sarcasm" or "it's just my opinion". With all due respect, I know that you're never ever going to acknowledge you're trolling. It would violate the code.
  15. The difference between you and him is you're not trolling. He seems to think that he can say what he wants and by adding "lol' he can act shocked at the response he gets (which he was hoping for in the first place), and that magically, he's protected.
  16. Don't worry. 4 out of 3 people don't understand statistics anyway.
  17. 87.3 % of statistics are made up.
  18. You insult the team & you insult Nichols. Don't see you doing that to their faces. Sauce for the goose my man, sauce for the goose
  19. Oh, I don't know about that. I have a moniker for you that begins with the word "big"
  20. Just don't get all man-crushy on him and start calling him "Big Huff".
  21. Outstanding read. It's nice to be reminded of a part of the evolution in the game. Thanks so much for doing this.
  22. I would also point out that while that is true, it would be obvious to anyone skilled in reading financial statements how the numbers were arrived at. What was being suggested here though was malfeasance without any evidence other than "some of my coffee buddies, who are really old too, say that they think there was shenanigans."
  23. So insulting Nichols intelligence is ok, but you never insult the team? Oh wait, I forgot that you can say anything you want as long as you and "lol" at the end.
