So... you're say that us consistently scoring more points than the other team will determine the outcome of the season? Some pretty heady stuff right there!
-
This is akin to asking if the operation was a success when the patient is in the prep room.

Not sure about a retreat. I stand by what I said. If you think he's a "star" after 7 games with 313 yards, I'm going to say that that reason you're saying it has more to do with the jersey he wears, or more to the point, the jersey he doesn't wear. And you are right, the schtick is old. But, it's not going to changes, so, let's move on...
-
Calling someone a star after only seven games is more than a little premature. Research complete.
-
So you expect that you can say whatever you want and not be challenged? I think the thing you are looking for is a blog. But if you make comments about "stars" with 300 yards of receiving, be prepared to get a little push back.
-
Oh, I thought you said star, not guy who caught passes for 313 yards. You should probably work a little harder on not making your agenda so obvious.
-
Why do you say that? Has it happened before?
-
We prefer gravitationally challenged.

Vince McMahon considers move to bring back the XFL

What if they were to combine them? I'd watch that. -
Pretty sure that carrying /throwing a player out of bounds is not a part of this, sort of like how you can't load a running back into a cannon and fire him into the endzone.

Clearly, for Muamba, it's all about the short term dollars. How much money can I make this year? Now, on the one hand I get it. Football careers can be short and there's no guarantee that there will be a "next year". So I completely get why he originally left us to go to the NFL. But since he's come back, he's been little more than a merc. I wonder if over the longer term, he would have made more money by committing to a team for a longer term. Sadly, he's someone that might have become one of the great Canadian players, like a Doug Brown, but now, he's probably going to be remembered simply as a guy who chased the money for as long as he could. Oh well, if he's happy, then good on him.

Not a questionable tactic at all by Walters. He's simply pointing out how far from reality the ask was. If you have a guy like Henoc, who's good, but hasn't really shown much sustained top-level play, comes in and wants dollars that would put him above what Harris makes, he's completely out to lunch if he thinks that it's going to happen here. I would think that in talking to Walters and O'Shea, he'd get a sense of what this regime is all about and "rent a player" types aren't going to find a bunch of traction here.
-
You are right, we didn't say we're out, but reading between the lines tells me, we're out. If our offer isn't going to be enough, and we're not raising it, then we're out. Unless of course Henoc decides that his demand is simply unreasonable, which I'm thinking is really unlikely.
-
I like the fact that Walters has spoken publicly about this. Gives the "we just let him walk" folks a chance to see that sometimes you just can't justify signing someone for whatever it is that they think they're worth. Henoc wanting to be paid more than Harris, someone who's giving his all for this team and is proving his worth over and over? Ya, not bloody likely. At the same time, it lets the Al's know that we're out, so feel free to adjust your offer accordingly. Good for you Walters!

As far as I know, the agent takes his instructions from the player.

Because they're harvesting winter wheat, of course.

Any relation to Leftshark"?

I think we'll have to face the fact that Speedflex is who he is. He's not going to get "fixed"

Reading is hard...

Here's the thing as I see it. We've already made a huge upgrade at MLB by not re-signing Hurl. So Henoc would be a nice-to-have, but our Canadian depth is such that he's not a got-to-have. If he's looking for a max payout, that's fine, but I really don't think he brings enough to the table to justify the potential of us being in cap-hell by mid season. He's a real good middle linebacker, but he's not head-and-shoulders above everyone else in the league better. I'm confident that we've either already got, or can acquire, a import that can play every bit as well, for a whole lot less money. If we start 3 Canuk Oline, Harris, a receiver and Loffler, we only have to play one other Canadian. Yes, it would be nice for it to be Henoc, but it doesn't have to be, nor do we need to start jettisoning good players that might actually want to stick around beyond the end of their contract just to we can have him play for one season.

You'll notice that I didn't say BIG news...

If they ever come out with Rider toilet paper, I'm going to be broke from buying it and ex-lax.

Those might be comments that have to be made. For contract negotiations, they probably work a lot better than: "Sign Henoc,? Oh hell yea, we have no worries. All the cap space room in the world!"

From the article: Provincial court documents show the 6-foot-3, 300-pound Atlanta native was charged last April with four criminal offences involving two alleged victims stemming from incidents in Vancouver on Oct. 16, 2016. His team at the time, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, played their regular-season finale at B.C. Place on Oct. 14, 2016. Cummings is charged with sexual assault, assault and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm to one person, and the sexual assault of another.
