  1. I think we'll have to face the fact that Speedflex is who he is. He's not going to get "fixed"
  2. Here's the thing as I see it. We've already made a huge upgrade at MLB by not re-signing Hurl. So Henoc would be a nice-to-have, but our Canadian depth is such that he's not a got-to-have. If he's looking for a max payout, that's fine, but I really don't think he brings enough to the table to justify the potential of us being in cap-hell by mid season. He's a real good middle linebacker, but he's not head-and-shoulders above everyone else in the league better. I'm confident that we've either already got, or can acquire, a import that can play every bit as well, for a whole lot less money. If we start 3 Canuk Oline, Harris, a receiver and Loffler, we only have to play one other Canadian. Yes, it would be nice for it to be Henoc, but it doesn't have to be, nor do we need to start jettisoning good players that might actually want to stick around beyond the end of their contract just to we can have him play for one season.
  3. You'll notice that I didn't say BIG news...
  4. Breaking NON HENOC news: https://www.bluebombers.com/2018/03/15/bombers-sign-receiver-j-coney/
  5. If they ever come out with Rider toilet paper, I'm going to be broke from buying it and ex-lax.
  6. Those might be comments that have to be made. For contract negotiations, they probably work a lot better than: "Sign Henoc,? Oh hell yea, we have no worries. All the cap space room in the world!"
  7. From the article: Provincial court documents show the 6-foot-3, 300-pound Atlanta native was charged last April with four criminal offences involving two alleged victims stemming from incidents in Vancouver on Oct. 16, 2016. His team at the time, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, played their regular-season finale at B.C. Place on Oct. 14, 2016. Cummings is charged with sexual assault, assault and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm to one person, and the sexual assault of another.
  8. Of course we can point to it. He's free to disagree.
  9. There is no contract once he's released. He can try and propose the former contract's terms but the simple argument to counter that is "If the Riders didn't think you were worth keeping with that contract, why would we?" The best I would do is offer him a fair contract and then offer to throw in paid storage for his tour bus until February of next year.
  10. I would have used the word "ballsy"!
  11. Wilder is good, I've already said that, but is he Harris good? Something tells me he doesn't have the same heart as Harris, but we'll see.
  12. Ok, then ya, good luck with that too!
  13. Ummm, from Wikipedia (the knower of all knowledge): In the Victorian Era, a variety of conditions which affected women were referred to as "a case for the vapours". Lady's tight corsets could squeeze their internal organs, including the lungs, and could restrict breathing causing the wearer to feel faint and to require "the vapours". A description of someone having "a case of the vapours" was sometimes used for a person in a state of emotional agitation. Seriously read Tennessee Williams, broaden your horizons!
  14. Wilder will be coming into the season with two things working against him. There's film on him now, and the defences he's facing will be as fresh as he was when he came into the league. My guess is that he'll be good, but not "Bluto getting the vapours" level good. As for 2000 yards rushing in the season, ya, good luck with that.
  15. Sadly, because he didn't become a starter in his first year, he's a total bust of a 1st round draft pick. Might as well cut him loose now and get it over with.
  16. Exactly. Hopefully, he learned.
  17. I was about 18-19 at the time and was with the Forces Reserve at Minto Armoury. We were having an open house and I was tasked with manning a table with some of our equipment laid out. He came up and asked if he could interview me. That was something new and I probably looked as nervous as I felt. So he went over what he was going to ask and when I was ready, we started the interview. Everything went fine until he started with "one last question". Then he asked the real question. "Is the Reserves just a Boy Scouts for old men?" Not too cool to put a 18-19 year old newly promoted corporal on the spot like that. Would have been fine if it hadn't been a try at a "gotcha" question.
  18. I would maybe be ok with a 15 yard penalty, but in the end zone, the ball should be placed at the 1.
  19. The imagery is... disturbing...
  20. Anyone seen the tour bus at/near the stadium?
  21. I'll have you know that I have it on good authority that the Argo have tens of thousands, nay, hundreds of thousands of fans. In fact that have so many fans that they jam up all the entrances to BMO field because the teaming throngs are all trying to get in and the same time and as a result, there are just a few hundred that make it through the doors before the log jam occurs. Here's a snapshot outside just one of the gates:
  22. I'm hearing of this new fangled thing called market research. I understand its something that, believe it or not, is more effective than idle speculation on websites and can actually show the market potential for a product or service. We can only hope that the CFL is aware of this amazing tool.
  23. Eight guests to do a two hour show on CJOB? They're only going to get about 3 minutes of talk time each.
  24. I think he's probably just getting the tour bus painted and tuned up.
