Guy walked away and yes, the fact that he was not picked up by anyone does matter. It suggests that there are 9 GM's in the league that don't see him as starter or primary backup material yet. Turns out that his best chance at being one was only a week away. Sucks for him, but life is choice.

That's really sad about Hefney. I hope that at some point in the near future the league and the players association can figure out some way of helping players that have suffered long term injuries. At the same time though, being that a lot of players are Americans, if they return to the States (which is completely understandable) the league can't be on the hook for paying US prices for care, if those prices are significantly higher than they would be if the treatment was done in Canada. I really hope that something can be done for Hefney in the short term though. It doesn't sound like the rehab therapy he needs is unreasonable .
