  1. I have to say that I find Ripper to be one of the more reasonable Rider fans on this board. Sure he's a homer, but then again, with a few notable exceptions, all the Bomber fans here are homers too. That's how it's supposed to work IMO. So I don't think he'll disappear once the Rider "trainwreck in process" leaves the station for 2017.
  2. I'm pretty sure that non-black people can be 19, for a year at the very least.
  3. Jesus is good, no question, but if we're talking defence, I'd rather sign Peter. He's better. In fact, one night, he denied Jesus three times. That's pretty amazing!
  4. Well, it was nice while it lasted... Hopefully, the Bombers kick butt this year and these sorts of folks will have to find somewhere else to spew.
  5. Sort of sad in a way. A lot of potential beaten into the turf...
  6. And you expect other teams to give us anything of value for them??? Good luck with that.
  7. Just how often are you expecting to see 6th rounders (and about) actually making an impact? Sure, it will happen from time to time, but not often enough to worry about. Every team "wastes them".
  8. At this stage, with the roster mostly set, I'd hope we would be "close to the line" sms wise. Of course, there will be some reserves set aside for emergencies, but why in the world wouldn't you be "close" at this point.
  9. Personally, I like seeing Glenn play, which wouldn't have happened if he was still here. I especially like seeing him play for the Riders.
  10. And then will come the inevitable "now he has to prove that last year wasn't a fluke".
  11. Personally, I'm fine with bringing in QB's from other teams. Could we better at scouting them ourselves? Maybe, but at the end of the day, how we get them is a lot less important that having them. Right now, we seem to have 3 decent options. Don't really care how they first arrived.
  12. Hey now... For a long time, we were CFL HQ for pass skipping QB's. It's tradition ya know.
  13. Complete speculation, but I'm thinking that "at this time" is the operative phrase here. I'm betting that they might have someone in mind, and/or are waiting to see who might shake out as cuts happen. And of course, finding out from whoever they might be interested in, if that person is willing to live on PR wages. I expect we'll see a 4th QB by the time we're into the first game or two of the regular season.
  14. I've have heard this. The legendary Cory J. You should think about consulting. I know a guy if you're interested. I'm assuming of course that you can speak on the 7 crucial areas? I hear that's really important. I've also heard of the legendary Cody J. He's the one talked about in whispered tones.
  15. First time I've every been slammed for a like, but seeing that you asked so nicely ISO... My memories of the Bombers go back to the 60's. Going to games with my family when we had the money to do it. Really got interested in the Bombers in Grade 8 when we had Ray Watrin as a teacher and part time flag football coach at our school. Days of Don Jonas and the boys. I'd go on, but, that was then, this is now. I prefer to discuss now.
  16. I've never seen a situation that can't be made better by bringing in consultants. Works Every. Single. Time.
  17. It's what some folks pay big bucks for to learn what the army teaches you for free (and pays you a salary while you learn!).
  18. I'm assuming that at work, he has someone who will "pretty things up" for him before he sends it out.
  19. Well, I don't have a Masters Degree in Leadership. I have 20+ years experience in leadership, and people seem to think I'm pretty good at what I do (but, hey, what do they know). I stand by what I said. Good teams will sometimes have disagreements. Good leaders work through the issues and make the team better. When I look at the trio at the top of the Bombers org chart, I see three guys who are smart enough and secure enough that they can disagree without making it personal or without stepping all over each other.
  20. I've worked in leadership for a long time. If you want people who are prepared to think, people who are prepared to take risks, disagreements are going to happen, guaranteed. A team that does not have disagreements (sometimes even profound ones) means one of the following is the case: 1- A team full of "yes men". 2- A team where no one gives a flying fig. 3- A team that doesn't actually do anything. I don't see any of these things applying to the Bombers. If occasional disagreements impact on relationship, it says way more about the quality of the leader than anything else.
