Ummm, no. Just no. If Gray is NFL bound why in the world would you waste a first overall on him. Sure, maybe he'll flame out and come back to the CFL in a year or two, or five, or never. Just because, for a change, we don't have a critical O line need doesn't mean you throw the pick away on a maybe. If Gray isn't NFL bound, then that becomes a different story.

Except that we seem to have a need at NI receiver. So if Walters thinks that Vandervoort is the best of the bunch and could fill our need now, he might just pick him. There will still be quality lineman at pick #6, but it's unlikely that Vandervoort will be. We shall see.

We pick 1 and 6 right now. I really don't see why we would trade down unless we acquired an additional pick. Even then, I can't see how we don't benefit from having the first pick overall. I remember all those years of not having a first round pick, and now we have two of them including the first overall. It doesn't get better than that.

I think he's assuming for that to happen that 3 or 4 Western teams fold before the start of the season. I could see it happening then.
