  1. No, not at all. For me, there is a huge difference between "mailing it in" and "crapping the bed". Our last home game was the latter. They simply played poorly. It happens. I'm not a huge fan of Mike O'Shea, but I'm very confident that no team under him will ever "mail it in". It's just not in his DNA.
  2. Because it's pro ball and you play to win. Otherwise there will be all sorts of people whining about how they mailed it in and how much the team sucks. Not that we're likely to have any of that sort of stuff happening here...
  3. If anyone thinks that O'Shea is going to kick LaPolice to the curb after one year, especially seeing that they made the playoffs, then you'e clearly not playing attention to the way that O'Shea operates.
  4. Ah. I see that you do indeed have a point. Fortunately, a hat will cover it.
  5. Being that he was their OC and the penalty was on special teams, I'm not sure what your point is.
  6. No, because that would mean having to admit that the Bombers did something smart, which cannot, under any circumstances, be admitted. Too hard to piss and moan then.
  7. I would have to think that if Harris had some sort of bonus to kick in at 1k, they would likely give it to him, considering the circumstances.
  8. My only regret is that you can only like a post once, because no truer words have been spoke on this forum. Edit: 1000 posts. Yay me!
  9. Excluding the ones I got wrong, I absolutely nailed this!
  10. Something vexes thee?
  11. The 9-track made them obsolete.
  12. I agree. I recall what we were like after the first six games of this season. We were sitting at 1-5 and the calls for O'Shea's and Walters' heads were deafening. If anyone at that time had said that we'd end up at a 10-8 or 11-7 record by years end and be in the playoffs, they would have been called aarvarkian and laughed off the board. Even if we end up being "one and done", we did far better than anyone could have hoped in July. Having said that, this was a bad game and O'Shea and the team need to turn this around but I seem to recall that they've be able to do that before, so let's not panic just yet.
  13. From all the rending of garments and gnashing of teeth, I'm guessing we must have played so badly that we lost our playoff spot?
  14. The problem is though, you can't always believe everything you read on the internet. For example, I recall reading someone who was so sure that there was no possible way that the Riders could lose to Montreal.
  15. That was my thinking too, but with posting and gin, one can never be too sure.
  16. I sure hope that is was meant sarcastically.
  17. Well, as it turns out, once the books are audited, they won't have a 1st rounder available until 2019, so if they want to trade that away, more power to them. And I'm betting that every other GM in the league knows their situation too, so that will make trying to trade off the 2018 1st rounder a bit more challenging.
  18. As I understand it, they lose the next available first round pick, so by trading away the 2017 1st rounder, all they've done is pushed this back to 2018.
  19. I'm pretty sure that if BLM was handed the HC job he'd probably point out two things: 1 - He's not a coach, so his learning curve hasn't even started yet. 2 - Even if he wanted to be HC, right now he's kinda busy being Calgary's starting QB Dang, looks like you made a mistake.
  20. Ok, let's play the conjecture game. What do you think would have happened if Dickenson had been the HC for the Bombers in 2014 and had been hit with the same level of injuries to the offence as he's had this year in Calgary? Given the overall depth level of the 2014 Bombers vs the 2016 Stampeders, I'm conjecting that he wouldn't be looking like some sort of boy genius coach. I'm betting he'd look a lot like a scrawnyer version of 2014 O'Shea. Hey this conjecture stuff is easy!
  21. Dickenson might have if he was told "This is the guy you're getting as your starter QB, unless you want Max hall instead." As for pulling Willy, yes I agree that it did appear that sometimes it might have been better to let Willy sit, but that might be a bit of the rookie coming out in O'Shea. That and the fact that if you pulled Willy, you end up putting in Brian Brohm, which would give any sane HC pause. And it's easy to say "Dickenson would have made our O-line better" but you have absolutely no way of knowing that, and let's face it, you've been wrong before. As for coordinators, I too was not at all happy with them, but rather than focusing on how bad we were, I'd rather look forward and appreciate that we really seem to have turned a corner. Also, I'm not going to pretend that I'm so much smarter than the GM and HC just because I can use hindsight and they can't.
  22. From the Rider Fans site: The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have acquired Canadian defensive lineman Justin Capicciotti and American offensive lineman Xavier Fulton from the Saskatchewan Roughriders in exchange for national defensive tackle Linden Gaydosh, international receiver Tommy Streeter and a late round draft pick, per CFL sources.
  23. I think that the D line can look at the quarterback as much as they want and they can point to their hearts content.
  24. I'd be interested in one of them there t-shirts. If it has sleeves then I'll have another "fancy shirt"
