  1. What's worse than a troll? A troll with a martyr complex. Please don't feed the troll. Just ignore him.
  2. If you're going to do that then for god's sake hire Rod Black for something, anything, to get him off the air.
  3. Why yes, yes it is...
  4. Firing the GM during the mid season is all but pointless. Better to do that during the off season when the pool of potential candidates is greatest. Firing O'Shea now will be ok, but only if it's made very clear that either LaPolice or Hall (assuming they go that way) is an interim HC only and that a search for a new HC will take place at the end of the season. Of course, if Wade Miller gets involved in the hiring process, do not be surprised if the very best candidate in all the CFL just happens to be someone who's already in the building, cause Wade is all about the hunt...
  5. Firing the coach says "We recognize that there's a problem and we're trying to fix it." Not firing O'Shea says, "We're going to be fine, just be patient" which everyone knows, is a lie. We're not going to be fine and the patience of many has been exhausted. Even the team itself is starting to look like they've given up so the Bombers are getting to a point of having to be seen to be doing something, anything, to show that the organization is trying.
  6. That's good, but try riding into your interview on a motorcycle. I know that nothing screams "COMPETENCY" like riding into your interview on a Harley. Nothing but good will come of it.
  7. Well Noeller, I'm travelling to Winnipeg to take my son to the Hamilton game so if you decide to go, let me know. I'll be the guy in the cheap seats wearing a Bomber jersey. Shouldn't be that many of us...
  8. I gotta say that I'm feeling somewhat disillusioned with the situation right now, just like so many of you. Until last night, I was firmly in the "O'Shea should stay until the end of the season." but after watching the game (until half time) and then watching his post game interviews, it's pretty clear to me that he's got zero solutions for this team and there's really no point in keeping him around. If he showed even a tenth of the passion and fire he had as a player, he'd probably be ok, but he just looks lost. Too bad really. I'm still on the fence about Walters but I'll say this - if he allows this to go on much more than the next game, then he's demonstrated to me that he's not got the ability to do whatever needs to be done in order to make this team as good as it can be NOW. Not next week, next month or next year, now, and in my opinion, O'Shea is holding this team back because he's out of ideas. So either Walters needs to put on the big boy pants and do what needs to be done, or he should be shown the door too. But I will say this, I know we suck, but that's the point WE suck. I'll always support this team, wear their colours, take the ridicule of all the green and white folk that surround me because of what that W stands for, or at least, what it used to stand for.
  9. Really? We didn't have our 1st string QB for a good part of last season, and we only had Nichols for eight games. Going to pin the whole year on O'Shea? Think logically for a second. Who's responsible for finding the talent? Here's a hint, it's not O'Shea. So I really don't think Walters could, in good conscience, fire O'Shea at the end of last season. We get that you don't like him, but do we really need a "I hate O'Shea and I want him gone" post in every thread? We get it, you're not going to be inviting him over for a barbecue anytime soon.
  10. Not sure about Rich. It's possible, of course, but when I watch Willy I see a guy that seems to have "lost the spark". He just doesn't seem to play with the fire and confidence he used to have. Maybe he can get that back, but in my experience, that's a fairly rare thing.
  11. That, and the fact that he's still walking around in full Bomber gear (with pads) helping rookies figure out where to put their recyclables. Don't see Kenny Ploen or Bud doing that.
  12. Why are you posting a picture of Miss Saskatchewan?
  13. I'm pretty sure I've used all those words in various posts over the years. I'd appreciate if you'd give me full credit.
  14. I agree completely that it really didn't seem like something someone around here would take the time to put together. Would absolutely not surprise me to see someone around here take someone's blog and post it here without crediting...
  15. Perfect example of the "if we win, it's just because we were lucky" mindset.
  16. I get why people want us to hire Chamblin. He's a name that people recognize so that means he's got to be good. Funny thing is, when I talk to people, you know who wants the Bombers to hire Chamblin the most? Rider fans.
  17. I think the lesson is that you grab good Canadians where ever and whenever you can. Draft, free agency, supplemental, press gang, whatever it takes. There's not a lot more certainty in the main draft. First rounders can end up being duds too, so the idea that we can only pick people in the regular draft is, to say the least, flawed.
  18. And how exactly was Walters to know that he was giving away the 2nd overall pick? Answer: He didn't. Maybe he thought that he was getting a really talented, maybe even starter level Canadian player, just like Poblah was supposed to be. Funny thing, I remember when Polbah was drafted and I don't recall anyone saying that it was a bad pick at that time, but then again, hindsight wasn't available at that point.
  19. Well, I certainly can't argue with the well defended and thought provoking points you raised.
  20. Alright, seeing that no one else is going to do it: Sorry Macho. There, can we move on now?
  21. Ya, I just can't figure out why Walters doesn't have our "hindsight is 20-20" skill. Yes, another top notch O-line man would have been nice to pick up and if Walters had known then that he'd be giving up 2nd overall, he might not have used the pick the way he did. It's almost like he's not able to see into the future and is being forced to use his judgement. By the way, seeing that Calgary was, as I understand it, willing to give up a 1st rounder to get Waggoner, I really can't fault Walters for doing it.
  22. There's a passionate response and then there's a hysterical response. Your post was closer to the latter. I'm all for making changes. I'd prefer well thought out changes rather than "you jilted me so I'm going to burn down your house" type changes.
  23. When I read it, BomberDynasty's post sounded more like an adult version of a five year old's tantrum. Give it about as much attention.
