  1. hahahahhahaha good line
  2. Wow, I really like this. Petanhas had a while on the farm so let's see how he has improved. It won't be long until you see the Jets start to use their 4 callups they are allowed.
  3. The expansion draft will be held before Myers contract cuts in so he won't have a clause in his contract. I wouldn't protect Perreault because he would be an UFA after the expansion draft. Same as Staf. I'd cut a deal with Perreault beforehand anyway. Sign him after the draft. Scheif Wheeler Dano Armia Little Lowry Burmi and Copp. Chevy either decides to leave Copp or Burmi unprotected or give Vegas a 2nd or 3rd or whatever so they don't draft him if you want to retain him.
  4. So, he either gets traded or picked by Vegas in the draft....which do you think he takes?
  5. Clarification or not. Why lose a player to draft if we can get anything for him?
  6. We'll see what the PA has to say about those clauses......this is far from finished. Trade Myers or Enstrom before the draft. Trade them for players we don't have to protect.
  7. So, if we have to protect NMC and NTC clauses, we will have Buff, Enstrom, and Stu with NTC and NMC clauses. What do we do then? Do we leave Trouba and Myers unprotected? When I have more time today I am going to figure out who is left unprotected and if it is 25% of the team's salary.
  8. Edmonton won tonight so four after tonight. I can see the Jets finishing 2nd or 3rd but I can't see them overtaking TO. I'd be happy finishing 2nd or 3rd last. 5th or 6th overall is still a really good player. I just hope Chevy doesn't go to far off the board and take Keller or someone like that.
  9. Play Pavs every game and that alone will give us 2nd place because there is no way any team is going to out-tank TO. Get the Schwheehlers line back together as soon as Ehlers' eye heals. When Armia comes back, play him with Perreault and Dano (good game tonight). ESW Armia Perreault Dano Burmi Lowry Staf Kosmo Copp Thorbs Enstrom Buff Trouba Myers Morrissey Chiarot Pavs with no chance of Hutch playing unless Pavs is hurt
  10. Pav is driving the tank. I wouldn't let Hutch play another minute until we have last place clinched. Scheif's line was really good. So was Buff.
  11. Look at how many Europeans the Jets brought into North American hockey back then. Sather said he modeled the Oilers after the WHA Jets.
  12. That all depends on what they decide with the NMC and NTC clauses.
  13. Move way down in the draft for 2 playoff home games?????? No thanks.
  14. Lawless and a few others were saying the draft is in June and Ehlers would be considered a 2 year player at the time of the draft.....starting July, he is considered a 3rd year player. Nylander from TO on the other hand, played in the AHL last season so he would not be considered a 2nd year player. A team also has to expsose 25% of their signed payroll. I expect the GMs to tell the owners not to agree to this and there will be tweaks. If this draft is held in 2018, we are going to lose a/some good player(s).
  15. I was wrong about Comrie and he wouldn't need to be protected next summer. It would have to be how many years they have played or else someone that has signed a contract this summer (Connor for Example) would have to be considered a 1st year player without playing a game or even knowing where he would play. I couldn't agree with you more Mr. Dee. If they had left the WHA teams alone, we would have competed but they didn't want another league's teams competing right away did they?
  16. I thought I would start its own thread. So it looks like 7 forwards, 3 d and 1 goalie or 2 goalies and 8 skaters. First and second year players are exempt. The question I have is...they are probably going to make the guys with NMC and NTS clauses exempt. Does that mean they have to be counted on your protected list? Little and Wheeler would probably be on the list anyway but if we are protecting 3 D men.....Buff, Enstrom and Stu would have to be protected and Trouba let out to dry? What about Myers whose NMC kicks in this summer? What if we have 4 players with these contracts at D.........what if we re-signed trouba to a NTC or NMC before the draft and we had 5 D men with NTC or NMC clauses? I don't like those clauses but I see why they are written in to so me contracts......Why Stu has one on a four year deal is beyond me. If they aren't protected, I think the general concensus would be what TUP suggesten in another thread. Scheif Wheeler Little Lowry Armia Dano Perreault (re-signed) Trouba Buff Myers Helle If the draft is the next year, we will lose two really good players and one will probably be Comrie. edit.......one goalie and 8 skaters edit.......chances are it will only be one team but if two teams join, each team will lose two players instead of one.
  17. they would be considered 2nd year players wouldn't they?
  18. I forgot about Ehlers and Copp. Perreault would have to be re-signed to protect. Let's hope the draft isn't in 2018.
  19. They are looking hard at everyone not just those two....they are seeing how those two respond to extra ice time. Kosmo and Lipon and the other Moose players are being evaluated to see if they are keepers or not.
  20. Stuart's deal doesn't end until 2018. If the draft happened next year it would only be one team. Comrie, Morrissey and Lemieux would be exempt??? For me... The 3 D would have to be Buff, Trouba and Myers. Goalie would have to be Hellebuyck. Scheif, Ehlers, Dano, Copp, Armia, Wheeler, Little and Lowry are eight forwards. Who do we leave unprotected? Lowry? Little? Copp? Teams under the current plan could protect seven forwards, three defensemen and one goaltender or eight skaters and a goaltender. I don't get the bolded. Is it 10 players and a goalie or 8 and a goalie?
  21. I doubt very much that players with ELCs will be available.
  22. We've got nobody to replace Enstrom if he were traded before next season.......Morrissey might someday but that day isn't here yet. We've already got one D man playing his offside. Enstrom is probably overpaid but underpaid at the beginning of his contract. I am okay with him being here but having said that, if they were to trade him and someone else, whether it be through trade, promotion from minors, drafted or someone on the current roster REALLY stepping up, came in and more or less replaced him for less money, I'd be okay with that. Do I see it happening??? No. I said it before and I'll say it again, if we pick lower than 3rd, I hope we pick Chychrun.
  23. It's not that he wasn't talking crap like if he were talking about Stuart or Thorbs, he was talking about him with high praise.

  25. KBF, You should check out Maurice's press scrum today...it's about someone we were discussing today. http://video.jets.nhl.com/videocenter/ Start at the two minute mark talking about Enstrom....ends around 3 1/2 minute mark by saying he has played exceptional this year. Said he played hurt most of last season and that anyone that plays with him, their numbers go up. I think I might have mentioned that. Red zone shots against go down and red zone shots for go up. Turnovers go down, clean entries into the opponent's zone go up. Says he is incredibly effective of getting the puck out of the trouble areas and getting it onto a linemate's stick. You should give it a listen.
