Which three players in the system (not regular Jets's starters but you can include Lipon, Hali and Kosmo) do you think have the best chance of starting with the Jets next fall. Mine are Connor, Morrissey and Lemieux. You don't do what Connor is doing and not start for the big team the next season. Scoring at a pace of 1.794 ppg as a freshman is almost unheard of. Eichel had a 1.775 ppg in the NCAA but was a year younger. If he isn't playing for the Jets next fall, he must really value education. I think Morrissey will start because by most things I read about him, he has really changed his game from the start of the season and is playing well despite being paired with some anchors (sound familiar?). I am okay with him going back if he isn't ready but I think we see him before the end of the year again. That and TC will decide but I see him making the team. Most think Lemieux is NHL ready. He is big enough to take the grind and the Jets have lost some size with Bogo, Kaner and Ladd not here any more. The size will help and Maurice talked glowingly about him last year. I think he starts with Copper on the 4th line next year. I also think it will help out Copper's O game to play with Lemieux. If Lemieux can play RW, Lowry - Copp - Lemieux would be an interesting 4th line. Lipon, Comrie, Petan and Kosmo will make it hard on the coaches to decide.

Yup, Boston let Barzal slip down too.

He has two goals so far tonight...

The thing is, they should deal with these things within 7-10 days not 19 games for God's sake!

Game 68 : Avalanche @ Snakes on a Plane

His ceiling is 3rd line but I think he suits a 4th line LW and PKer perfectly. -
The fact that they waited this long and then gave him 10 games after he served 19? No, not bush at all.
-
Regardless of why the appeal knocked it down to 10 games, it makes the NHL look like a 2nd rate bush league.

Nah, TO has last place all locked up...

If we draft top 3 and take Matthews or one of the Finns, our forwards will sure be fighting for space. Ehlers, Wheeler, Scheif, Connor, Little, Armia, Staf, 2016 draft pick, Perreault, Dano, Copp, Lowry could be the top 12 starting forwards.. If Lemieux makes the team, what do we do then? Connoer Scheif Wheeler Ehlers Little Armia Staf Perreault Draft pick Lowry Copp Dano No room for Lemieux? I'd sure like to see them trade Stafford this off-season. -
Maurice would probably start him on the 3rd line. My forwards' lineup would be... Connor Scheif Wheeler Ehlers Little Armia Lowry Perreault Staf Lemieux Copp Dano Trouba- Buff 25 minutes Enstrom- Hamonic 25 minutes Chiarot -Postma 10 minutes
-
That all depends on who you call their top 4....De Haan is a top 4 pairing (paired with Hamonic) but he is only 6th in scoring. I'd rather replace Stu with Hamonic.......when he gets back, I don't think Stu sees as much PK time.

The Jets could use a good 3rd pairing RHD.......especially if Kostalek doesn't pan out. Also, if you draft a kid in 2017, when does he start for the Jets? 2020? 2021? Buff will be at the end of his contract by then. It's apparent that the coach has little faith in Postma. -
You don't think players learn from other players? Just last week Maurice was saying they learn more from the guy they sit next to on the bench than any coach. So, ya, I think he can help them out. You don't think Morrissey was helped out by Myers a few games ago? Being local is fine and dandy but wanting to play here is huge. I think he brings other major benefits as well. Enstrom-Hamonic would be an excellent shutdown pairing. Floyd, The Isles' D men are outscoring the Jets D men.....not saying they couldn't use and offensive-minded D man but they get more offense from their back end then the Jets do.

Because Hamonic could actually tell them how to play defense?

This really makes the NHL look bush...

Not sure where to put this..... Probably the best article I have read of his. http://www.winnipegsun.com/2016/03/09/maurice-jets-fans-can-see-bright-future-ahead

He'd be the 2nd best RHD we have if all our D men suited up healthy next game and the Jets are a better team with him in the lineup. He would be a great mentor to the young D we have in the system and I really wouldn't even care if he were born in Russia. Read a bit about him. Check out what coaches and management types have to say about him. Check out what players from his team AND other teams have to say about him. Look at how he is handling his trade request going public. He is a pro and wants to play in Winnipeg and happens to be one of the better shutdown D men in the league (world). He doesn't get mentioned in the Norris conversation because he doesn't produce points. I don't care. With the D men the Jets have that shouldn't be a problem, especially if Myers isn't here and Trouba is given more O time. If Hamonic were an LHD, he would have been here already.
-
Actually, he plays more than any other player on the team.
-
Hamonic is on their 1st PK team plus he averages more TOI than any other D man on the team. Where do you get your info from???????? Spewing BS really helps your credibility. Do some research before you post.
-
Win or lose the Jets are a better team after the trade. Much better defensively and Trouba can pick up the offense that he really should be anyway. Where did you see in any universe where Myers' stats are better than Hamonic's? Hamonic plays against every team's 1st line and has better stats than Myers. It is a fact that Myers' D pairing's stats are always poorer with Myers as a pair....if you really want to talk stats. Myers and a 2nd in 2017 and we are a much better team. We easily replace that 2nd by trading Staf at the trade deadline next season.
-
Hamonic's caphit is 1.7m less than Myers' and he is signed for one more year than Myers is.

Sabres are up 4 points and have 2 games in hand..........they have as much of a chance of finishing last as us.
