  1. Matthews would speed up the rebuild of this team by quite a bit.
  2. I'd add as much as a 2nd. I don't judge Hamonic on one game. He averages 24 minutes of shutdown hockey every game. Myers is very poor defensively and the reason he won't be traded is because of his salary friendly contract. I'd add a 2017 2nd rounder.
  3. When and how did Buff hurt himself? Was it a wrist? Postma is pretty much showing why he isn't usually a starter. Bring on the Avs!!!!!!!!! Oilers look to be winning but unfortunately it looks like Buffalo will lose.
  4. out for Hamonic......I would add a bit to Myers for Hamonic. Not a bad D corps tho eh? Enstrom Buff Chychrun Hamonic Morrissey Trouba
  5. I was thinking of the upcoming World Cup of Hockey... It'll be good for Matthews to keep playing.......I think Eichel did the same thing?
  6. I'm looking forward to that tournament. Not much to watch for hockey at that time.
  7. Good God, move that team out of that slack ass town already... Matthews' season is over in Europe...now what? Team USA?
  8. Kruger signs for three years for 3.083m per year for 9.25m. Hope this hasn't been posted.........
  9. Hahahaha, Maurice shuts up Friesen? at the 1:20 mark. http://video.jets.nhl.com/videocenter/ Also says the team is still in for some growing pains.
  10. I think where we pick in the draft has a huge effect on our lineup especially regarding the forwards. Matthews, Puljujarvi, and Laine would probably start next season as a forward for the Jets next year. Laine and Matthews for sure. .. . If they do, Lipon AND Lemieux will never both start and I think Lemieux stands a really good chance of making the team next year. If we pick Chychrun, lots of people say he is NHL ready....that's a pretty hard thing to do in that position. Chychrun and Morrissey making the team next year would be huge.........even if they are both playing there by Christmas or the ASB. The following six look nice as a starting D corps. Enstrom Buff Chychrun Hamonic Morrissey Trouba
  11. Lawless thinks Lipon starts on the 4th line next season. Lemieux Copp Lipon?
  12. wow, Barkov got 6 x 5.9m and he isn't even as good as Scheifele. Lawless did a good comparison of players over their ELC contracts and only Taylor Hall will end up with more points after Scheifele's ELC ends. Here is that group and some of the salaries he mentioned....some of these contracts were signed a few years ago but you can get the idea. Hall 7 x 6m. Couturier 6 x 4.333m Landeskog 7 x 5.75m Skinner 7 x 5.75 Seguin 6 x6.75 Johansen RNH 7 x 6m Huberdeau Galchenyuk Zibanized Yakupov Granlund
  13. So, Bogo had arbitration rights?
  14. I think Trouba will push for a 5 or 6 year deal. I think Scheif would love to sign an 8 year deal. If the cap stays where it is, they have about 20m to sign Trouba, Scheif, Hutch, Lowry, and Armia (Lipon if he makes the team). They have a LOT of room. The following year, Staf, Perreault, Thorburn, Pavelec, Peluso, and Postma are all UFAs. That is almost 14m in caphit. I'd be thrilled to re-sign Perreault and trade the rest or let them go as free agents. RFAs the same year are Burmi, Dano, Copp, Chiarot, and Helle. We can easily re-sign Perreault and these players (minus Burmi I hope) for 14m. It is the following year (2018-2019) where Chevy has 9 RFAs and 3 (Little, Stuart, Enstrom for 13m) UFAs. That should be an interesting off-season.
  15. If that is true, no way would I bridge either of them.
  16. PLAN 1 Scheif on a two year bridge for 3m a year. then 8 x 8m after his bridge. 10 years for 70m or 7m per year. He is 33 after this ends. PLAN 2 Scheif on a 8 x 6.5m per year = 52m 6.58m per year and then has to be re-signed at 31 years of age.
  17. But if an ELC were an SPC, they would both be eligible for salary arbitration now or maybe next year and they aren't? I think that when they become eligible for arbitration has to be taken into consideration when negotiating a deal.
  18. Isn't that the first one after their ELC expires? An ELC can't be considered an SPC can it?
  19. So, they would both be eligible in 3 years. An SFC is the first after an ELC right?
  20. Chevy and Trouba's agent are both very stubborn, shrewd negotiators. It'll be interesting to see but I can see Trouba holding out if he doesn't get what he wants. Give him a one year bridge at 3m and tell him to earn his long term. Trouba's future isn't as certain as Scheifele's so I don't think I would sign him long term unless it was 8 x 5m or so. If you give him 8 x 6m, you are taking a risk. I wouldn't sign him to less than 6 years though. It'll be interesting to see how Chevy handles this but I ahve fiath in him after the deals he did with Buff and Ladd. He kept the right player and traded the right player. Regardless how Dano turns out, it was probably the best he was going to get.
  21. I still don't know what I'd do with Trouba.
  22. Does anyone know the arbitration rules concerning Scheif and Trouba or just in general? Are they both eligible for arbitration in 3 years? Rich? I'd sign Scheif for 8 x 6.5m at the top limit. Keep him with the Jets as long as possible. He'd be 31 when it ends. I'd give Wheeler the C and an A to Scheif. Maurice has mentioned more than once that Scheif will be captain one day but I would give him the A first. Why rush it? If Wheeler moves on in 3 years, give it to him then.
  23. Benny (Chiarot) and the Jets?????????????
  24. I hope Burmi isn't even here next year but I don't see Maurice putting on the 4th line. I think Copp is better than Burmi.
