  1. http://www.tsn.ca/radio/winnipeg-1290/williams-eric-comrie-plays-like-an-experienced-veteran-goalie-1.432741 A great prospect. The guest says he has only not started in 2 games in the last 2 1/2 months! They talk a bit about De Leo and his skating and that he shoots from anywhere on the ice.
  2. You should also list what is in the system not only the p layers on the roster... Goalie, you do know that Armia outscored both of those Finns in the same league when he playing there right?
  3. I have been saying this for months and 2 weeks ago Lawless said he was talking to a GM and he said people shouldn't worry about Buff because he is smart enough to change his game once he starts losing a step. Arguably the smartest player on the team has has great vision. Has been in shape since Maurice took over and comes into TC in shape. Do you have a reason why he won't or just feel like spouting off.
  4. No way do I sign Trouba to a long term deal unless it is less than 5m per year. He hasn't done anything to deserve it. Scheif deserves a long term deal but I wouldn't give him one either....... give them and Lowry two year bridge deals.....they are RFAs with little leverage....tell them to show what you got for the next two years and you'll get paid what you are worth. Scheif is getting steadily better and is being smart about what he eats and how he treats his body and if only one of them gets a long term deal, it should be Scheif and I would give him 5.8m x 8 years if he re-signed today.
  5. I agree about Dubnyk......I'd take Helle any day of the week.
  6. I was just pointing out that most team that are in the playoffs, have a plus in the goal differential. The Jets have 15 empty net goals against and not sure how many they have scored. Their plus/minus is -16. You're right though, those empty net goals don't matter at all. With or without them, we aren't making the playoffs. Edmonton has McDavid back and I am betting they pass the Jets in the final standings. I also see Calgary and possibly TO passing them as well. The Jets have an absolutely horrible schedule starting March 1st and I see them slipping down (up?) to 3rd place in the tank with only the CBJ and Sabres finishing below them. A pretty good chance at first overall. A top 6 of Matthews, Wheeler, Armia, Scheif, Connor and Ehlers would look nice in a couple of years.
  7. I don't agree with the bolded.... If the season ended today, in the East Conference the only team making the playoffs that has a minus in goal differential is Detroit. The only team without a minus is the Habs at zero and they are out of the playoffs. All other teams are a plus that would playing the post-season. In the West Conference....Anaheim -9 and Nashville -3 are in the playoffs. Nashville has the last playoff spot with 55 games and Minny is a point back with a game in hand and they are a +4. That's 3 teams out of 16 with a minus in the goal differential. I'm not saying if you keep your goal differential in the plus that you will make the playoffs; however, if you are a minus team, I am saying that your chances of making the playoffs are not very good at all. Floyd, why not a good turnover? He has injected rookies like Scheifele, Trouba, Lowry, Copp, Ehlers, and Chiarot (and Armia and Hellebuyck recently).
  8. Not to mention that their goalie made some huge saves when they needed them..........
  9. I am anxious to watch how Ehlers, Scheifele and Wheeler play today. A great line. Glad Maurice finally listened to me........
  10. I think Buff will transition well when he gets older....I'd trade Myers before Buff on talent alone. I don't think the Jets trade them both. I hope Ladd is the one traded. Easier to replace. NOBODY should be untouchable, not even Wheeler of Ehlers. If the right trade comes along, anyone can be traded. The Jets have a lot of talent coming up and have already injected what... 8 or 9 rookies in the past 3 years? As far as the Thrashers go, Burmi, Buff and Ladd only played a season there and Stuart and Wheeler played only 23 games. Enstrom, Little, Pavs, Thorburn, Slater and Kane and Bogo are the ones that played some time with the Thrashers.
  11. True enough, should be a few of them available. I think the Jets sign Buff to a 6 year contract, contrary to popular belief. I also think it will be for north of 7m per year. I think they trade Ladd before the TD. I wouldn't trade Staf, he has been good for us and can play on any of the top 3 lines. If I'm trading Staf, it would be at the TD in 2017. MP should be re-signed the second he is able to.
  12. It would free up 3.9m of cap space and 4.75m of salary. Nothing to sneeze at..... but are we comfy with Hutch as the back up goalie?
  13. I'd be really happy with a 3rd.
  14. http://www.tsn.ca/trade-talk-could-pavelec-be-on-the-move-1.431996 Pavs to Calgary? Say it ain't so Joe! "Winnipeg Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec has been out since Nov. 21 with a sprained knee. In his absence, Connor Hellebuyck has done a solid job for the Jets. With Pavelec nearing a return and Hellebuyck likely slated to get a number of starts in the near future, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun wonders if the Jets would consider shopping Pavelec before the Trade Deadline. The 29-year-old has a cap hit of $3.9 million this year and next, a lot of cash for a goalie who might be playing backup minutes. Wiebe thinks the Calgary Flames might be viable trade partners as both Jonas Hiller and Karri Ramo are unrestricted free-agents come July 1. The Jets would likely have to take back Hiller (and a draft pick) in a deal, says Wiebe, but would clear $4 million in cap space, possibly aiding the pursuit of signing Dustin Byfuglien or Andrew Ladd to extensions. " I wonder how high of a pick they could get?
  15. Back to back coming up so if they are going to start Pavs, the second game (in Denver) is probably where he'll start if he does.
  16. I'd rather see Myers and Petan/2nd rounder go there and RNH come back though.
  17. RNH and a guaranteed top 5 (more than likely top 3 or higher) is good value for him.
  18. I'd do that deal but I'd rather trade Myers in a deal for RNH.
  19. Does anyone know what criteria must be met for an RFA to get arbitration? I can't seem to find it.
  20. Petan is doing not bad on the Moose.
  21. Trouba should get a bridge deal.........doesn't deserve a long term deal yet. Freidman's last rumor was Buff being offered for Hamonic and everyone took it as gospel.
  22. I forgot Hellebuyck, the other rookie........
  23. They used to have the champs play an all-star team from the league. The threat of injury is still there though. Where were you? If minus 10 bugs you, don't look at the forecast.
  24. Haha, while I'm at it, here's Armia saying hello to Vatasen...
