I can see FL, Mtl, Washington, Chicago and/or Anaheim making a deal for him. The Ducks have some great prospects.
-
I think he was signed as a free agent so even a 4th rounder is a win isn't it? Package him up with Ladd and trade him at the TD.
-
We be tankin' it (official tanking thread) ...

I love that line of ESW.... Little, Ladd and Armia should be good too. -
Les Canadiens would love to have him. They have some really good prospects, too. The Capitals would probably trade for him too. They want to win now. He has two cup rings, He's as tough as nails, has playoff experience and good leadership. I think a few teams would be interested in Ladd.
-
I think a team that can't win more than 2 games in a row all season doesn't deserve to be in the playoffs. We aren't going to make the playoffs and I hope Chevy holds out until the TD and gets as much futures as he can for Ladd.
-
I hate to agree but to a large extent, you are right. We are about 11m under the cap.
-
I agree that Lemieux has a better chance of hitting his potential but I'd wrap up either one of them in a trade if it were worth it. Maurice mentioned the other day that Copp will eventually push his way onto the 3rd line be it at C or LW. If Lowry is on the 3rd line, that only leaves a RW and Lemieux plays LW. He is better suited for the 4th line and 10-12 minutes a game.
-
I can see Lemiux going no higher than the third line unless he is moved up in a pinch. I think, if Petan works out, the ceiling is higher on Petan. A second rounder and Petan is probably fair value for Drouin but I don't see Yzerman making that trade.
-
Clitsome's deal ends this year...
-
You think Lemieux has a higher ceiling than Petan?
-
They've done that for awhile haven't they? Lawless said yesterday that Florida wanted Lowry for Pirri. He also said that the Jets are not out of the running for Drouin if Yzerman wants prospects. I'd give him Petan and a 3rd or Lemieux and a 3rd.

I think we will finish about 5th-6th last. Grueling schedule in Feb.-Mar.

http://www.tsn.ca/radio/winnipeg-1290/woodley-hellebuyck-has-been-one-of-the-nhl-s-best-goalies-1.427255 Interview with Kevin Woodley of InGoal magazine. He says Helle has been one of the best in the league. He's wondering if starting Helle too much cuts into his practice time so he can't go over things he needs to. He says he is handling it very well and his learning process is going faster than most. People that he trusts and people in the know tell him that Comrie is NHL ready right now. Says it is nice that the Jets' two youngest goalies are their best two goalies. He's says the it is good that they are both in their ELC contracts as they don't have to rush them and the Jets have to decide what to do with Hutch. He said when Pavs gets back, it will be tough to decide who to play but he would run with Helle right now because he is playing like one of the best in the league. He said Helle would be in his list of top 3 for rookies of the year.

Eight points out of a playoff spot with the league's worst schedule on the horizon.
-
The panthers only gave up a 3rd and a 5th for Pirri. Too much from The Jets. Ladd and 2017 3rd rounder for Pirri and Matheson.

I would love to see what Buff would bring as a shut down D man with his size and nastiness. Give him 8.5, 8.25, 7.75, 6.75, 6.25. Trade Ladd for the best deal involving prospects. Let the other team have its first rounder. Montreal is going to make a deal if they don't start winning. See what you can get for Ladd and Pavs/Hutch with salary retained on Ladd's contract. Maybe they switched because Ladd isn't moving and time is of the essence? Teams are probably inquiring what it would take to acquire those two players and Chevy wants to know what it is going to cost him to re-sign them. Chevy is a shrewd negotiator and doesn't mind waiting until the last minute to get deals done but he needs to know with some cushion in place in case a trade or trades is/are necessary.

Lawless was saying yesterday that he talking to an NHL GM (in the last 24 hours) and he was asking what everyone was so worried about when it came to signing Buff. The GM said something like ... I don't know why everyone is worried about signing him at his age. He still skates like the wind and plays the game to his physical abilities. This masks what an intelligent player he is and what a great passer he is. If/when he slows down, there may be a correction period where he might adjust but then switch the way he plays to a more cerebral game and doing more passing instead of lugging it himself. If he picks up his D game as his O game diminishes, does his contract look as bad at the tail end of it? I think and have mentioned before that Buff is smart enough to turn into a more defensive-minded D man as he ages. Off topic but I think he should be in front of the net during the PP and let someone else take his spot. Lawless goes on to say at 5 x 7.5 could work and that 7.5 in 6 years isn't going to be as big a hit as it is now. He also says there is more focus on signing Buff than trading him or signing Ladd from the Jets side of things. I like that. Buff for 5 years would be ideal but I'd even go 6 if I had to. Something like 6 x 6.875 for 41.25.

At best, a backup on the farm.

Game 47 : Aliens vs Predators @ Jets
Ducky replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
The experts say there area big 3 and then the talent level drops......Matthews and the two Finns. -
Some of Walsh's clients.... Buff, Fleury, Tarasenko, Landeskog, Krejci, MacDonagh, Hedman, RNH and many more. He's no rookie...
-
http://www.tsn.ca/blackhawks-acquire-sekac-from-ducks-1.426482 The Hawks trade a 30 year old for a 23 year old.
-
40 points in 89 NHL games....not bad.... I meant it took leverage away from Yzerman when dealing with other teams to trade him to. ..Drouin has no leverage which is why he is forcing a trade....what else can he do, TB owns his rights for years...he doesn't care what TB gets back.
-
He is given advice. He chooses what to do with that advice. I have nothing wrong with him forcing his hand. Takes some leverage away from Yzerman but it is what it is. Hard to believe he can't make the team though. This guy put up better numbers than Ehlers in the Q .
-
The talent on the RHD or LHD doesn't necessarily transfer when the player changes sides.
-
Walsh is to blame? Who does he work for? Oh ya, Drouin...
