  1. That would depend on the injury and the team. It wasn't that long ago we traded an injured player. I honestly want Buff re-signed not traded. Whether we make the playoffs or not, I hope he re-signs. I think it popped out and they popped it back in. I would sit him tomorrow. They have Colorado on Monday. Play him then if he is ready.
  2. You can sign, trade or not sign, not trade him....or do you mean trying to make the post-season.
  3. We'll find out in a hurry what this team will be like without Buff if he is out any length of time. If he is out past the TD and isn't signed by then, what will it look like on Chevy's report card then? Ehlers, Armia, Wheeler, Little, Buff, Ladd, Perreault and Myers had strong games. I'll be really happy when we say goodbye to Thorbs and Stuart. Helle had a rough third period but played really well in the first two.
  4. When Buff makes a mistake it is magnified too. He sees more ti me than anyone else don't yo think he is going to make the odd mistake too? If Lowry keeps playing like he is to night, he won't be visiting the farm again. Armia lloks good too. What about the Preds playing the rookie on the 1st line? Who wuddathunkit?
  5. Not sure why all the complaining, the Jets are outplaying them so far.
  6. When they asked Maurice today about Wheeler's comments, he said "Probably heard it before somewhere first and something that is talked about in the room. At least they listened, at least they caught parts of it, right?"
  7. Enstrom's contract is up after the 2017-2018 season. I don't want to see him leave until there is an adequate replacement.
  8. Yup, let's trade our best RHD because he makes too much but keep our 3RHD (Myers) because he has a good contract.
  9. I agree, someone will give Buff 7 years as an UFA and he knows it....the Jets will have to give him 6 years. 5 years at 7 per is a steal.........like I said yesterday, if he signed for 5 years (an ideal term in my warped mind), I'd give him 8m per year. I can't believe McKenzie came out with this because the more I think of it the more absurd it is.
  10. minor league move?
  11. Forgot Hutch and Pavs.......only need one of them.
  12. Not sure why you would say this.....I honestly think we should start the next season without Ladd, Myers, Stuart, Peluso, Thorbs, Burmi, some prospects and picks. We should add a 1LHD, a good checking 3rd line LW, a solid 3RHD and some help on the 4th whether from within or not. We should try Ehlers and Armia further up the lines. Copp on PK should be looked at, and on and on and on and on...
  13. If he says "some of these guys" he is referencing more than one....I am a huge Trouba fan but he might be one. Buff? not sure...Ladd?....could be. Enstrom.....I would vote yes.... Lowry?....probably but like you say, putting more into it since the recall. Goalies?......doubt it..........Burmi might be one....Chiarot?........possibly. If I had to pick, I would say Ladd, Lowry, and Trouba.....probably Chiarot and Enstrom. Certainly isn't Perreault, Scheif, Staf or Little.
  14. I really don't think the Jets are going to start two rookies and Stuart on the left side and I don't think that you think that either.
  15. Hutch is starting?
  16. You want to start Stuart and two rookies on LHD?
  17. This is what I would do if I were Chevy...I realize you don't do this overnight but it needs to be done by the start of the next season. Players out...........Ladd (not worth near what he is asking for), Myers (ya, I know, great contract, young, potential, blah blah blah blah blah. The fact of the matter is he is our 3rd best RHD and would bring back a lot) , Stuart, Burmistrov, Thorburn, Peluso, picks and prospects. I realize some of these players won't bring back much but you get what you can for them and package them up with other players in deals. Ladd and Stuart at the TD to Montreal for example. Probably get back 2 good prospects and a 1st rounder while dumping over 8.5m per year. Myers and Petan and a 1st for a really good LHD...something like that for example. Players in.............1LHD (I'm ok with Enstrom the 2LHD with Trouba or Buff for two more years and hope that Morrissey takes his place when Enstrom's contract expires), a good 3RHD and a solid 3rd line checking LW (that doesn't want 6m a year). 4th line help. First, I sign Buff. 2nd I get Armia and Ehlers on the 1st and 2nd line for the rest of the season and take a good hard look at them on the PP and/or PK, that is where they are projected to play so take a good hard look at them there.. We will suck but also get a better draft pick. I'd also give Morrissey a look with the Jets before the season is over. As soon as I can, I re-sign Perreault for 4 years, sign Lowry, Scheif and Trouba to 2 year bridge deals. Also re-sign Staf for 3 years and Hellebuyck to 2 year bridge deal if their good play holds up. Also, give Copp a look on the PK. Little, Wheeler, Scheif, Perreault, Ehlers and Armia doesn't sound too shabby for the top 6 for the rest of the season does it? 3rd line solid checking LW with Lowry and Staf should do fine on the 3rd. Copp will need wingers on the 4th and Burmi might be okay there but I would rather move him out and bring in Lipon or Lemieux or Olsen or someone.
  18. who is 36?
  19. you give him 9m because present money is worth more than future money and this helps him re-sign a shorter contract...in year 5 he is making 7m and in 2021 a dollar isn't near what it is worth today. Also, I have no doubt Buff will play 5 good years of hockey yet.
  20. hard to figure how a team that is on its third road game in four nights can step it up in the third while the jets peter out. time to blow it up. Ehlers for Drouin.........no Buff and conditional 2nd round for Hamonic......Myers and a third, re-sign Buff Ladd for a 1st round pick........plus?
  21. wow is it ever! 5.875m per year until 2022!!! I honestly think we can do better with 36 over 6 years than Ladd, hurt or not. Trade him now, start the tank.
  22. I'm not debating if he is a part of a problem but there are quite a few teams that would line up to give him a 5 year contract for 8 per. He will get 7+ a year for 7 years on the open market. Do you know how much teams like Detroit and Florida covet him? I would say off of the top of my head that there are at least 6 teams that would give him 50 over 7 years to morrow if they could. Let me ask another question, who is going to make up Buff's 24 minutes of time (not to mention his points) if/when he is gone? I think if Trouba and Myers picked up another 3 minutes a game, that would be tops. On a sidenote, maybe that is why Postma is on the farm getting some time?
  23. Freidman said he thought Buff was offered and everyone took it as gospel...
  24. I'd give Buff 40m over 5 years. 9 8.5 8 7.5 7
