I really hope Yak does not get traded tot he Jets. They can keep Schultz too. Ditto most of their D not named Nurse. Does anyone know just how good RNH is? Better than Scheif and by how much? Will he become 1C? His stats don't knock me off my chair. Read good things about him but why hasn't he had higher points totals? He gets about 50-55 points a season. If we are making a trade with them, I hope it is Hall and not RNH coming back if he can't push Scheifele to 2C. If he is that much better than Scheifele and we can get him, does Little move over tot he RW? I can't see him or Scheif centering the 3rd line.

Game 34 : Atlanta v2 @ Atlanta v1

He mainly plays LW. Lots of centers get converted to wingers when they hit the NHL/AHL. Lowry was a winger in junior. More responsibilty for a center and more thinking. If we have a center, in three years, good enough to relegate Scheif to the 2nd line center, I'd guess we'd have a really, really, good team. If we were somehow lucky enough to get Matthews, we'd more than likely be contenders in 4 years. From what I've read about Chychrun, he'd be a great player to get a hold of too. Chychrun and Morrissey as your two top LHD in 3 years sounds nice. -
I saw an interview as the season was getting under way and Buff said he wants to finish as a Jet but it's a business. He seems like a player that stays out of the way until negotiations are almost finished and lets his agent do his job. If we retain Ladd and let go of Buff, it is a mistake. If we are keeping one, keep Buff.

What if Deadmonton gets him??????????

Yup, or he is involved in a trade for a LHD or LWer. I really like Little but in 3 years, who are our centers going to be? Scheif Little Lowry Burmi Copp Roslovic Copp Olsen Harkins De Leo and Spacek are all in the system... -
I'd agree with that....he likes the outdoors and places like NY and LA are probably places he doesn't want to go to. He did re-sign and stay in Atlanta though.

I thought I heard a bit ago that (Lawless?) he hadn't been asked to hand in the list. I really don't like these clauses in player's contracts. They can really handcuff management. I think both Ladd and Buff will return more than a lot of people think. Ladd at the TD would get quite a bit and Buff will get a lot regardless of when he is traded. If he makes it to UFA, Detroit and the Rangers will be all over him. I don't want to see Buff in Deadmonton, he'd do too well there.

If I'm not mistaken, I think you can start negotiating with him a year before his contract ends. Perreault is doing well and always gives his all. A good wrist shot, smart with the puck and defensively sound. I'd re-sign him as soon as I could. As for Morrissey, I have no reason why he is there except I forgot about him. I forgot about Roslovic until I was ready to post it too. I'd love to see him compete for a 1st or 2nd line position. Chiarot and Niku are there because I could think of nobody else to put in there. Our depth at goal is the strongest but the LHD is for sure the weakest. Guys like Lipon are good but who do they bump off of that roster? Spacek? Little? Well his contract would be up and I'm not sure Chevy will give him what he asks for/deserves. Doesn't get the credit he deserves outside of Winnipeg. I thi nk he is 30 when his contract expires and that is a bad age to extend. Ideally, I would guess that a contract expiring around 32-33 is best. For the Jets I mean. Do you sign Little for long term? I wouldn't. I can see Kostalek as a Jet in 3 years. With Stu and Chiarot on the 3rd pairing, it can't be THAT hard to upgrade? -
Rumors are rumors. Has anyone heard if the Jets have asked Buff for his no trade list of teams, because if they haven't...

It's time to move no from Ladd but do we trade the best D man (by far) in Buff or sign him to 6 more years? I'd trade Enstrom in a heartbeat if we had any LHD depth. If our lineup were to look like this in 3 years, would you be unhappy? Connor Scheifele Ehlers Perreault Petan Armia Harkins Spacek Wheeler Lemieux Copp Roslovic Buff Trouba Chiarot Hamonic Niku Kostalek Helle Comrie/Phillips Who have I forgot? -
Trade him at the deadline.....Montreal or someone will pay huge for him.

Trade him....he can be super nice to his neighbours in Anaheim...

Gotta stop being in the situation of always having to pull the goalie to try to tie it up... -

I have to say that Armia hasn't looked out of place and has played well. He saw another 11 minutes of ice time and quite a bit of it was not in the D zone. Has good hockey smarts too. Hutch wasn't good enough, he didn't play really bad but didn't come up with the big save when needed. He had a .906 sv% tonight. I don't think we see too much of him in the new year. -

Maurice has to at least shake the lines up. These aren't working. Put Wheelers with Wheeler and Scheif....not sure about Wheeler the last 3-4 games, still skating hard but...maybe a change will do hi m good? A 2nd line of Armia Little Staf? 3rd of Ladd Copp Perreault and Hali Burmi Thorbs -

Armia gets bumped up to the 3rd!!!!!!!! Interested to see what the 3rd line can do without Thorbs. Way to go Armia...he set up Buff in the 2nd but he got in too deep before shooting. Nothing wrong with Ehlers game tonight. Hutch has been good. Trouba takes a very unnecessary penalty there. -

Fro is the highest paid forward on the Flames at 4.3m per year... -
I'm serious, our top 6 are LLW and PSS....which doesn't belong?
-
those goals came from the top 2 lines.
-
What we need is consistent above average goaltending and help on the bottom 6 and bottom D pairing. Trouba-Buff look good together.

It's 17C in Atlanta right now. -
The way Pavs was playing immediately before the playoffs began made me think they had a real legitimate shot at going deep into the playoffs......nope.
-
We are okay for the immediate future but there are a LOT of players that will want more money and they all won't get....at least, not from the Jets. I'd much rather see money from Ladd go to re-signing Perreault and he won't sign for 3m. He's on pace for a 60+ point season.
-
Ya, the Jets didn't play that well at all.............. TUP I think they are on the books for about 43m but remember that this is without Buff Trouba Ladd Hutch Lowry and Armia signed.
